Jewish Audio on Chabad.org. 诇"讙, we will start 16 lines from the top of the 注诪讜讚. And the 讙诪专讗 here quotes from the 诪砖谞讛 where it says, 谞讜讚讜转 注讜讘讚讬 讻讜讻讘讬诐 讜拽谞拽谞讬讛诐. It said there that the skin bottles and earthenware flagons of 讙讜讬讬诐, so the 诪砖谞讛 said there was a 诪讞诇讜拽转 between 专讘讬 诪讗讬专 and the 讞讻诪讬诐. 专讘讬 诪讗讬专 said that these jars that have wine of a 讬讬讚 in it are 讗住讜专, and the 讗讬住讜专 is 讗讬住讜专 讛谞讗讛, and the 讞讻诪讬诐 say that it's not 讗住讜专 讘讛谞讗讛. The 讙诪专讗 says here: 转谞讜 专讘谞谉, the 专讘谞谉 learned, 谞讜讚讜转 讛注讜讘讚讬 讻讜讻讘讬诐, these skin bottles of 讙讜讬讬诐, 讙专讜讚讬诐, if it is scraped, which means, as 专砖"讬 says, that it has no tar in it, 讞讚砖讬诐, and it is also new, 诪讜转专讬诐, you're allowed to use it. And the reason is, because since it is new, obviously the 讙讜讬 didn't use it for long, so there wasn't much wine that he kept in it, and also it doesn't have the tar inside. So since it doesn't have the tar, it doesn't really absorb. So the little bit that the 讙讜讬 put in without tar, that doesn't really absorb, and therefore a 讬讬讚 is later allowed to use it for his wine. But if it's 讬砖谞讬诐, it's old, 讜诪讝讜驻驻讬谉, or it has tar in it, even if it's new, 讗住讜专讬谉, that it is 讗住讜专. And the reason is, if it is old, so the 讙讜讬 kept a lot of 讬讬谉 谞住讱 in it, so it absorbed, even if it wasn't made with tar. On the other hand, even if it was new, but if it had tar in the inside, tar absorbs, so therefore it absorbed even if it's new, and therefore in these two cases, 讗住讜专讬谉, it is 讗住讜专 for a 讬讬讚 to use it. Then the 讘专讬讬转讗 continues: 注讜讘讚讬 讻讜讻讘讬诐 讝讬讘讘谉, if a 讙讜讬 poured the tar in, 讜注讬讘讚谉, and he worked on it, he straightened out, he lined it with the tar, 讜谞转谉 诇转讜讻谉 讬讬谉, and he put wine into it, 讜讬砖专讗诇 注讜诪讚 注诇 讙讘讬讜, and a 讬讬讚 was standing on top of him, a 讬讬讚 was standing there and watching, 讗讬谞讜 讞讜砖砖, then it doesn't matter and you're allowed to use those jars for 讬讬讚讬砖注 wine. But the
What does it help that a 讬讬讚 stood over him? Since it was the 讙讜讬 that poured the wine in, so the wine is 讗住讜专, and since it had tar, as the 讘专讬讬转讗 said, the 讙讜讬 poured the tar in, we said before that if it has tar it absorbs, and it absorbed the wine that the 讙讜讬 poured in, which is 讗住讜专, so why is a 讬讬讚 allowed to use it? Because another 讬讬讚 watched, but what does that help? 讗诪专 专讘 驻驻讗, so 专讘 驻驻讗 said, what does it mean? 讛讻讗 拽讗诪专讬, this is what it means: 注讜讘讚 讻讜讻讘讬诐 讝讬讘讘谉 讜注讬讘讚谉, the 讙讜讬 poured the tar in and he lined it, 讜讬砖专讗诇 谞讜转谉 诇转讜讻谉 讬讬谉, but the 讬讬讚 poured the wine in, 讜讬砖专讗诇 讗讞专 注讜诪讚 注诇 讙讘讬讜, and there was another 讬讬讚 standing over him watching, that's when we say 讜讗讬谞讜 讞讜砖砖, that you don't care, you're allowed to use this jar. Why do we have to have another 讬讬讚 standing over him? It's 诪砖诪注 from the 讘专讬讬转讗 that when is it good? Only if you had another 讬讬讚 watching him. Now if we're explaining that the 讘专讬讬转讗 means that a 讬讬讚 poured the wine in, why should we have to have another 讬讬讚 standing and watching him? So the 讙诪专讗 answers, the reason is because 讚讬诇诪讗, maybe, 讗讙讘 讟专讚讬讛 诪谞住讱, while the 讬讬讚 is involved, is busy with pouring the wine in, the 讙讜讬 who is standing there could be 诪谞住讱, 讜诇讗讜 讗讚注转讬讛, and the 讬讬讚 won't notice it. Therefore, you have to have another 讬讬讚 standing and watching the 讙讜讬. So then there is no problem, because a 讬讬讚 poured the wine in, and the other 讬讬讚 made sure that the 讙讜讬 didn't do anything, and that's why you're allowed to use these jars. 专讘 讝讘讬讚 讗诪专, 专讘 讝讘讬讚 said, 诇注讜诇诐, 讘讗诪转, 讻讬 讚拽讗诪专转 诪注讬拽专讗, we could say like we said before, that what the 讘专讬讬转讗 means is, as it says, that a 讙讜讬 poured the wine in. 讗讬, the question we asked, if the 讙讜讬 poured the wine in, why is it 诪讜转专 even if you had another 讬讬讚 standing over it? The answer is: 讛讻讗, here, 讘注讬讚谞讗 讚拽讗 砖讚讬 诇讬讛, 谞讞讬转 讻讬 讝讬专拽讗 讚诪讬讗 诇讟讬谞讗. When we say the 讙讜讬 poured the wine in, it just means he poured in a little bit wine so that the tar should not have a bad taste. Now that little bit of wine that he pours in, while he's pouring in, it's like a person who pours water into cement. So that water is lost, and it's not considered water anymore, and it becomes absorbed in the cement, and later on this water will never come out. The whole reason why 讘讻诇诇 we make 讗住讜专 a 讻诇讬 which absorbed non-kosher food is because later on when that 讻诇讬 is going to be used for kosher food, the non-kosher taste that's in the 讻诇讬 will come out into the kosher food. But if you
pour in wine while it is being tarred, so that taste of wine will never come out. Just like when you pour water into cement, that taste of water will never come out, the same thing with this wine. And therefore, even if a 讙讜讬 poured the wine in, still you're allowed to use this tar. 讗诪专 专讘 驻驻讗, so 专讘 驻驻讗 said, 砖诪注 诪讬谞讛, we are able to prove from what 专讘 讝讘讬讚 said, from his 驻砖讟 we're able to take out the 讛诇讻讛, 讚讛讗讬 注讜讘讚 讻讜讻讘讬诐, that this 讙讜讬, 讚砖讚讗 讞诪专讗 诇讘讬 诪诇讞讬 讚讬砖专讗诇, if he threw wine into a 讻诇讬 of salt of a 讬讬讚, 砖专讬, it is 诪讜转专. Since he used the logic that since it gets burnt inside the tar and therefore this wine is not considered wine and you're allowed to use the 讻诇讬, the same thing is concerning salt. When you pour wine into salt, so then it gets absorbed and it gets lost, so then you're allowed to use this salt, even though it absorbed non-kosher wine from a 讙讜讬, but still since it is salt and it burns it up, so it is similar to the case here of the wine that is poured into the tar.
诪转拽讬祝 诇讛 专讘 讗砖讬, so 专讘 讗砖讬 asked a 拽砖讬讗, 诪讬 讚诪讬? What kind of comparison is it? 讛转诐 讻讗讝讬诇 诇讗讬讘讜讚, in the case of pouring the wine into the tar, it gets lost. It dries up and there is no more wine there, and there is no taste left of wine in the tar either. 讛讻讗, but here in the case of putting wine into the salt, 诇讗 讻讗讝讬诇 诇讗讬讘讜讚, it doesn't get lost. Even though it dries up, but still the taste of the wine is still in the salt, so why should it be 诪讜转专? This is the way 专砖状讬 learned this 讙诪专讗. But 转讜住驻讜转 asks on 专砖状讬, what kind of 讛讜讛 讗诪讬谞讗 did 专讘 驻驻讗 have 诇讻转讞讬诇讛 to say that if you put wine into the salt it is 诪讜转专? And he compares it to the case of the 讙讜讬 putting the wine into the tar. In the case of the wine in the tar, there is no taste of the wine left at all, but in the salt there is definitely a taste of wine. So what was 诇讻转讞讬诇讛 the 讛讜讛 讗诪讬谞讗 of 专讘 驻驻讗 to think that in a case like that you're also allowed? Therefore, 转讜住驻讜转 says that 专讘讬谞讜 转诐 says the 驻砖讟 is different. The case here is not if you put wine in the salt, meaning in a 讻诇讬 which has salt in it and the wine is absorbed in the salt. What it means is 诇讘讬 诪诇讞讬, in the place where they make the salt. And 专讘 驻驻讗 said that even though the 讙讜讬 threw the wine in the place of the salt, still you're allowed to use the salt. Since this is in the place where you make the salt, it is hot, the salt is burning over the fire because that's where they process the salt, so since it is put in the place where it is burning, the fire burns up the wine, and that's why you're allowed. And this is compared to someone who puts water in cement, because in this case, the taste of the wine is not felt in the salt. But still 专讘 讗砖讬 asked him a 拽砖讬讗 that after all it doesn't go 100% 诇讗讬讘讜讚, it's still something there. It is not similar to the wine that is poured in the tar that's in the jars made of skin, because there the skin itself adds to spoiling the taste of the wine. But here where there is nothing else but the burning of the salt, that is not enough to say that it takes away completely the taste of the wine, and therefore 专讘 讗砖讬 asked that it's not the same, and in this case it still should be 讗住讜专. Now 诇讻讗讜专讛 it comes out from this 讙诪专讗, since 专讘 讗砖讬 asked a 拽砖讬讗 on 专讘 驻驻讗, so it seems like 专讘 驻驻讗 is wrong, and we don't 驻住拽谉 like 专讘 驻驻讗. That 专讘 驻驻讗 said that if a 讙讜讬 would throw wine into the place where you make the salt, you could eat the salt. And 专讘 讗砖讬 asked him and said there is no comparison, so it would seem from the 讙诪专讗 that we 砖诇讜讙讚 讗驻 专讘 驻驻讗, and the 讛诇讻讛 should be that you are not allowed to eat that salt. So the 专讘讬谞讜 转诐 says that even though 专讘 讗砖讬 asked a 拽砖讬讗, it is only a 讚讬讞讜讬. All he meant to say was that you are trying to prove your 讚讬谉 from the 讚讬谉 that we said before that if the 讙讜讬 pours the wine into the tar it is 诪讜转专, so he's saying there is no comparison. You can't prove it from there. But he didn't mean to say that we don't 驻住拽谉 like you. Could be 专讘 驻驻讗 is right anyway, it's just that he has no 专讗讬讛. So therefore, 专讘讬谞讜 转诐 says the 讛诇讻讛 is like 专讘 驻驻讗. And that's why the 专讘讬谞讜 转诐 was 诪转讬专 to eat the salt even if they put some drops of blood while it is being processed, because as the 讙诪专讗 says here, that if it's done while it's processed and it's hot, then the taste of the non-kosher food that goes into it gets burnt and doesn't exist and you're allowed. So you're allowed to eat the salt in the case of the wine, and the 专讘讬谞讜 转诐 also says you're allowed to eat the salt in the case of the blood. Then the 讙诪专讗 continues:
He seized a jug of skin that was used for wine from 专讘 讬爪讞拽 讘专 讬讜住祝. 专诪讗 讘讛讜 讞诪专讗, he put wine in it, 讜讗讛讚专讬谞讛讜 谞讬讛诇讬讛, and he gave it back to him. 讗转讗 砖讗诇 讘讬 诪讚专砖讗, so he came, 专讘 讬爪讞拽 讘专 讬讜住祝 came to ask the 砖讗诇讛 in the 讘讬转 诪讚专砖, can he use that skin bottle? 讛诇讻讛 诇诪注砖讛, it wasn't just he 驻住拽谞讚 a 讚讬谉 in 住讘专讗, but it was actually important for a case that actually happened. So he 驻住拽谞讚 诇诪注砖讛 that 诪诪诇讗谉 诪讬诐 砖诇砖讛 讬诪讬诐 讜诪注专谉. You fill it up with water for three days, and then you pour out the water, and that will take out the taste of the wine that was absorbed in this skin bottle. 讜讗诪专 专讘讗, and 专讘讗 said, 爪专讬讱 诇注专谉 诪注转 诇注转. Every 24 hours you must empty it out. You have to have water in it for three days, but every 24 hours you pour out the water, and you put new water in. 住讘专讜 诪讬谞讛, from that we thought, 讛谞讬 诪讬诇讬 讚讬讚谉, that is only if it is our bottle, which means if it was originally a skin bottle that belonged to a 讬讬讚. So it had absorbed a lot of 讻砖专 wine 诇讻转讞诇讛. So now when the 讙讜讬 put in his wine, since the skin had in, was full of our wine, so it couldn't absorb much of the 讬讬谉 谞住讱. So therefore, in order to 讻砖专 that, it was enough just soaking it three 诪注转 诇注转 in water, and emptying it every 诪注转 诇注转. 讗讘诇 讚讬讚讛讜, but theirs, if it is 诇讻转讞诇讛 a jug that belongs to a 讙讜讬, which means it was absorbed 诇讻转讞诇讛 with wine of 讙讜讬诐, with 讬讬谉 谞住讱, so it definitely has a lot of 讬讬谉 谞住讱 in it, we thought 诇讗, you can't do that. Whether it is ours or it is theirs, this is what you could do. In other words, even if it was 诇讻转讞诇讛 by a 讙讜讬, and it only absorbed 讬讬谉 谞住讱 from 讙讜讬诐, still the way to take out the taste from inside the skin is through soaking it for three days. 住讘专 专讘 讗讞讗 讘专讬讛 讚专讘讗 拽诪讬讛 讚专讘 讗砖讬 诇诪讬诪专, so 专讘 讗讞讗 the son of 专讘讗 was sitting in front of 专讘 讗砖讬, and he thought to say, 讛谞讬 诪讬诇讬 谞讜讚讜转, this should only be concerning skin bottles made of skin, made of leather, 讗讘诇 拽谞拽谞讬诐 诇讗, but if these are jugs made of earthenware, then this 讚讬谉 doesn't apply, there you cannot 讻砖专 it by soaking it three days in water. 讗诪专 诇讬讛 专讘 讗砖讬, so 专讘 讗砖讬 said to him, 诇讗 砖谞讗 谞讜讚讜转 讜诇讗 砖谞讗 拽谞拽谞讬诐, makes no difference whether it is made of skin, the jug is made of skin, made of leather, or they are 拽谞拽谞讬诐 made of earthenware. In all cases, even if it comes from a 讙讜讬, you're able to 讻砖专 it by soaking it three days in water and emptying the water every 24 hours. Then the 讙诪专讗 continues, 转谞讜 专讘谞谉, the 专讘谞谉 learned, 拽谞拽谞讬诐 砖诇 注讜讘讚讬 讻讜讻讘讬诐, jugs of earthenware of 讙讜讬诐, 讞讚砖讬诐, if they are new, 讙专讜讚讬诐, and they don't have the tar in it, 诪讜转专讬谉, you're allowed to use it. And the reason is, since it is new and the 讙讜讬 didn't put any 讬讬谉 谞住讱 in it, so then it is 讻砖专. And we can't suspect maybe it is really not new, maybe he did put 讬讬谉 谞住讱 in, but we can't tell, because since it is 讙专讜讚讬诐, it doesn't have any tar in it, so if it would be used once, we would be able to tell. When it has tar in it, then we can't tell, maybe it was used and it looks new. But if it doesn't have the tar in it, then even if it would be used once, we would know. So it says, therefore, if it is new and there is no tar in it, then you're allowed to use it. 讬砖谞讬诐, if they are old, 讜诪讝讜驻驻讬谉, or even if they are new, but they have the tar in it, so 诪诪讬诇讗 we don't know whether it was used or not, 讗住讜专讬谉, it is 讗住讜专. Because maybe the 讙讜讬 did put 讬讬谉 谞住讱 in it, and then it would make it 讗住讜专. Now, from the 诇砖讜谉, it seems as if this 讚讬谉 is the same as the 讚讬谉 we brought earlier in the 讙诪专讗. Earlier in the 讙诪专讗, we brought the 讚讬谉 of 谞讜讚讜转 注讜讘讚讬 讻讜讻讘讬诐, and we said the same thing. We're talking about the skin bottles, the bottles made of skin, of leather. So there it said exact same thing, that the 谞讜讚讜转 of 讙讜讬诐, so it said if it's 讙专讜讚讬诐 讞讚砖讬诐, if it has no tar in it, and it's new, you're allowed to use it. But if it's old, or even if it's new, but it has tar in it, it is 讗住讜专. And it's exact the same 诇砖讜谉 as we say here concerning the 拽谞拽谞讬诐, which is the earthenware. Exact same thing, that if it's new and it has no tar in it, it's 诪讜转专, but if it's old, or it has tar in it, it's 讗住讜专. But
nevertheless, 专砖''讬 says that there is a difference between what we mean new and old concerning the bottles of skin, or what we mean new and old concerning the bottles of earthenware, because 专砖''讬 says that 讻诇讬 讞专住 is 讘讜诇注, earthenware absorbs much faster. So therefore 专砖''讬 says that concerning the 讚讬谉 of the earthenware, when we say new, it means new, it was never used. If it was even used once, already it is no good. Why? Because even from once it absorbs enough that it should make it 讗住讜专. So when it says in the 讙诪专讗 that we are learning now that concerning earthenware there's a difference between new and old, new would mean it was never used, old means even if it was used once, it is already 讗住讜专. But in the case before, when it spoke about the bottles made of skin, made of leather, there new and old means different. New means if it was used only a little bit by 讙讜讬诐, because since it's made of skin, and if it's used a little bit without having the tar in it, it doesn't absorb very much, and therefore you're allowed to use it. While if it is old, old means if it is used a lot by 讙讜讬诐. But if it was used just a little bit, it's still considered new. This is the way 专砖''讬 learns the 驻砖讟 in this 讙诪专讗. But 转讜住驻讜转 asks many 拽讜砖讬讜转 on this, and 转讜住驻讜转 brings two different 驻砖讟讬诐. Then the 讙诪专讗 continues: 注讜讘讚 讻讜讻讘讬诐 谞讜转谉 诇转讜讻讜 讬讬谉, if these are the jugs that a 讙讜讬 put wine in it, 讬砖专讗诇 谞讜转谉 诇转讜讻讜 诪讬诐, a 讗讬讚 should put water in it. As we said before that in order to 讻砖专 it, the way to do it is by putting water in it and soaking it for three 诪注转 诇注转, and then you could use it. 注讜讘讚 讻讜讻讘讬诐 谞讜转谉 诇转讜讻讜 讬讬谉, another 讚讬谉, if the 讙讜讬 put wine in it, still 讬砖专讗诇 谞讜转谉 诇转讜讻讜 爪讬专 讜诪讜专讬讬住, a 讗讬讚 is allowed to use it to put in 爪讬专 讜诪讜专讬讬住, juice from fish or 诪讜专讬讬住, this is a kind of pickled stuff. And since, the reason is, since these are sharp, so they would take away the taste of the wine if it was put in, 讜讗讬谞讜 讞讜砖砖, and he doesn't care. He's allowed to do that. If you want to put other things in, for instance wine, which is not sharp, you must first put water in to 讻砖专 it, as we said before. But if you want to put 爪讬专 讜诪讜专讬讬住 in, you're allowed to put it in right away without kashering. 讗讬讘注讬讗 诇讛讜, then they ask the question: 诇讻转讞讬诇讛 讗讜 讚讬注讘讚? When we say that you're allowed to put 爪讬专 讜诪讜专讬讬住 in, is it 诇讻转讞讬诇讛, that you're allowed to go ahead and do it, or if you put it in, it doesn't make it 讗住讜专? The 讙诪专讗 says 转讗 砖诪注, come here, I will answer your question.
If they're new, they were never used, so they're 讻砖专 jugs and you could put your wine in. 讬砖谞讬诐, if they're old, 谞讜转谉 诇转讜讻谉 爪讬专 讜诪讜专讬讬住 诇讻转讞讬诇讛, you're allowed to use it for 爪讬专 讜诪讜专讬讬住 诇讻转讞讬诇讛. Wine you can't put in, you got to 讻砖专 it, but 爪讬专 讜诪讜专讬讬住 you could put in 诇讻转讞讬诇讛. So here we see clearly that it's not only 讘讚讬注讘讚 that you're allowed to use it for 爪讬专 讜诪讜专讬讬住, but even 诇讻转讞讬诇讛 you're allowed to use it for 爪讬专 讜诪讜专讬讬住. But 诇讻讗讜专讛 one might ask a 拽砖讬讗, what was the 讙诪专讗's question, whether it's 诇讻转讞讬诇讛 or 讘讚讬注讘讚? If you look at the 诇砖讜谉 of the 讘专讬讬转讗, it says clearly that it is 诇讻转讞讬诇讛. It says 讘驻讬专讜砖 there: 注讜讘讚 讻讜讻讘讬诐 谞讜转谉 诇转讜讻讜 讬讬谉, if a 讙讜讬 put wine in it, 讬砖专讗诇 谞讜转谉 诇转讜讻讜 爪讬专 讜诪讜专讬讬住 讜讗讬谞讜 讞讜砖砖, a 讗讬讚 is able to put into it 爪讬专 讜诪讜专讬讬住 and he doesn't care. So the 诇砖讜谉 of the 讘专讬讬转讗
says clearly that you're allowed to 诇讻转讞讬诇讛 put in 爪讬专 讜诪讜专讬讬住. So what is the 讙诪专讗's question now, is it 诇讻转讞讬诇讛 or 讘讚讬注讘讚, when it says clearly here 诇讻转讞讬诇讛? Another question that is there that 转讜住驻讜转 asks: soon in the 讙诪专讗 we will see that the 讙诪专讗 takes it for granted as a accepted fact that if you put 爪讬专 讜诪讜专讬讬住 in a 讻诇讬, it burns out the taste of the food that's in the 讻诇讬 from before, and therefore afterwards it is 讻砖专. Where does the 讙诪专讗 take it from? Where do we see clearly that 爪讬专 讜诪讜专讬讬住 burns out the taste that's absorbed originally in the 讻诇讬? So 转讜住驻讜转 says that there is another 讙讬专住讗 that we have in the 讘专讬讬转讗 that we brought, not as we had it, that a 讙讜讬 puts wine in it, then a 讗讬讚 could put 诪讜专讬讬住 in it 讜讗讬谞讜 讞讜砖砖, but there it said different. There it said like this: that if a 讙讜讬 put wine in it, and then a 讗讬讚 put 爪讬专 讜诪讜专讬讬住 in it, then a 讗讬讚 is allowed to use it 诇讻转讞讬诇讛 for wine. So according to this 讙讬专住讗, it didn't say clearly that if a 讙讜讬 put wine in it, a 讗讬讚 is allowed to put 爪讬专 讜诪讜专讬讬住. 诪讜专讬讬住 in it. All it said was that if a 讙讜讬 put wine in it, and then a 讬讬讚 put 爪讬专 讜诪讜专讬讬住 in it, so then he's 诇讻转讞讬诇讛 allowed to put wine in it. And that's why the 讙诪专讗 has a 砖讗诇讛, that is a 讬讬讚 allowed to 诇讻转讞讬诇讛 put the 爪讬专 讜诪讜专讬讬住 in it? Or, the 驻砖讟 in the 讘专讬讬转讗 is that if 讘讚讬注讘讚 he put 爪讬专 讜诪讜专讬讬住 in it, it burned out the taste of the 讬讬谉 谞住讱, and that's why he's allowed to use it for wine? But according to our 讙讬专住讗, it's 讟讗拽注 not understood what the 讙诪专讗 砖讗诇讛 is, whether it is 诇讻转讞讬诇讛 or 讘讚讬注讘讚, when according to our 讙讬专住讗 it says clearly 诇讻转讞讬诇讛. But according to the other 讙讬专住讗, it doesn't say 诇讻转讞讬诇讛, it just says that if a 讬讬讚 put 爪讬专 讜诪讜专讬讬住 in it, it could be used for 讬讬谉, and the 讙诪专讗 砖讗诇讛 is, can he do it 诇讻转讞讬诇讛? And also we see here, from this 讘专讬讬转讗, that 爪讬专 讜诪讜专讬讬住 burns out the taste, because it says that if you put 爪讬专 讜诪讜专讬讬住 in, then you're allowed to use it for wine. So this is where the 讙诪专讗 takes as an accepted fact that 爪讬专 讜诪讜专讬讬住 burns out the taste that was put inside. Then the 讙诪专讗 says,
And 转讜住驻讜转 says that it seems like this 专讘讬 讬讛讜讚讛 谞砖讬讗讛 was not the same 专讘讬 讬讛讜讚讛 谞砖讬讗讛 which is mentioned someplace else. We know that there is a person called 专讘讬 讬讛讜讚讛 谞砖讬讗讛 who is known as the one that was 诪转讬专 诪砖讞讗. At one point the 讙诪专讗 says later on, they 讗住专'讚 oil, 砖诪谉 of 讙讜讬诐, and 专讘讬 讬讛讜讚讛 谞砖讬讗讛 was 诪转讬专, and he is called the 砖专讬 诪砖讞讗, that he was 诪转讬专 the 诪砖讞讗, the oil. So 转讜住驻讜转 says that this 专讘讬 讬讛讜讚讛 谞砖讬讗讛 is not the same as that one, because that 专讘讬 讬讛讜讚讛 谞砖讬讗讛 was the grandson of 专讘讬谞讜 讛拽讚讜砖, of 专讘讬 讬讛讜讚讛 讛谞砖讬讗 who made the 诪砖谞讬讜转. And he's even mentioned in the 讘专讬讬转讗 sometimes. So it couldn't be the same person who asked a question from 专讘 讗诪讬. Therefore, 转讜住驻讜转 says it must be the the grandson of that 专讘讬 讬讛讜讚讛 谞砖讬讗讛. And it seems like it's the same one that's mentioned in 诪讜注讚 拽讟谉. What if you put them back into a furnace and they become heated, what is the 讚讬谉? Is that enough to consider it being 讻砖专'讚 or not, that you should be able to use it?
讗诪专 诇讬讛, so he said to him, 爪讬专 砖讜专祝. If 爪讬专 burns and takes out the taste that was absorbed inside, 讗砖 诇讗 讻诇 砖讻谉. So fire, certainly. And therefore, if you put it back into the furnace, you're allowed to use it. 讗讬转诪专 谞诪讬, 讗诪专 专讘讬 讬讜讞谞谉, and we also learned that 专讘讬 讬讜讞谞谉 said, 讜讗诪专讬 诇讛 讗诪专 专讘 讗住讬 讗诪专 专讘讬 讬讜讞谞谉, and some say it was 专讘 讗住讬 who said it in the name of 专讘讬 讬讜讞谞谉, that 拽谞拽谞讬诐 砖诇 注讜讘讚讬 讻讜讻讘讬诐, these earthenware jars of 讙讜讬诐, 砖讛讞讝讬专谉 诇讻讘砖谉 讛讗砖, that you put them back into the furnace, 讻讬讜谉 砖谞砖专讛 讝驻转谉 诪讛谉, as soon as the tar goes off, falls off it, 诪讜转专谉. They are 诪讜转专. Because if you put it in and it gets that hot that the tar falls off, then this heat is strong enough to take out the taste that was absorbed. 讗诪专 专讘 讗砖讬, and 专讘 讗砖讬 said, 诇讗 转讬诪讗 don't say 注讚 讚谞转专讜谉 till they actually fall off, it doesn't have to get that hot that the tar actually gets removed, 讗诇讗 讗驻讬诇讜 专驻讜讬讬 诪专驻讬, even if it just gets loose, it's enough. 讗祝 注诇 讙讘 讚诇讗 谞转专, even if it's not removed. Then the 讙诪专讗 says, 拽讬谞住讗.
What happens if it's heated up not through the furnace, but it's heated up through little pieces of wood, which means that you take little chips of wood and you put it inside the jar and you light it up, and that makes the tar fall off? Is that enough that we should be able to consider it 讻砖专'讚 or not? So the 讙诪专讗 says, 驻诇讬讙讬 讘讛 专讘 讗讞讗 讜专讘讬谞讗, there's a 诪讞诇讜拽转 in it between 专讘 讗讞讗 and 专讘讬谞讗. 讞讚 讗住专 讜讞讚 砖专讬. One says it's 讗住讜专, it's not considered 讻砖专'讚, and one says it's 诪讜转专. 讜讛诇讻转讗, the 讛诇讻讛 is 讻诪讗谉 讚讗住专, like the one that said it's 讗住讜专. And it's not the same as if you would put it into the furnace. And as 专砖''讬 explains, the reason is because in the case where you put it into the furnace, since the fire is from the outside of the 讻诇讬, so the fire gets that hot till the inside of the 讻诇讬 where the tar is, it falls off. So that shows that the fire penetrated through the whole 讻诇讬, and therefore the taste that was in the 讻诇讬 definitely got burnt and is not there anymore. But in the case where you put the little chips of wood inside the 讻诇讬, and that's what caused to remove the tar, this doesn't prove that the fire penetrated into the 讻诇讬 to burn the taste that's inside. And this is the 讛诇讻讛 that this is not enough. And from here, 专砖''讬 takes out that when you want to 讻砖专 a 讻诇讬, whether it's a 讞讘讬讜转 or a 拽谞拽谉, these jars that are used 诇拽讬讜诐, meaning that 讙讜讬诐 put stuff inside to last there for a long time, so they definitely absorb the taste of the non-讻砖专 food that they put in, so you can't just 讻砖专 it from the inside. 专砖''讬 says from here we see, whether you're going to burn it, or you're going to pour hot water inside, It won't be enough. Since the 讙诪专讗 here says that the 讛诇讻讛 is that 讻谞住讛, which means that you put actually a fire inside, nevertheless, it's not enough, certainly if you're gonna pour water that was heated up with fire inside, it's certainly not enough. So the
only way to 讻砖专 it is, if you're gonna heat it up from the outside, so hot that it gets hot inside too, or if you put it into water for three 诪注转 诇注转 and you change the water every 诪注转 诇注转, or you're gonna hold it for 12 months as the 讙诪专讗 will discuss that later. From 专砖状讬 it also comes out that there's another way to do it. If you're gonna heat it up inside 讟讗拽注, but that it'll be so hot that if you would have had tar on the outside, it would have also melted, it would have also been removed, this is also good enough, cuz the whole reason why it's no good is because we have no 专讗讬讛 that it penetrated throughout the whole 讻诇讬 to say that it burned the taste inside. So we understand that if you heated it up inside, but it got so hot that it penetrated through the 讻诇讬 up to the outside, so then this would be considered a good 讻砖专讬谞讙. That's the way it seems from 专砖状讬. But 转讜住驻讜转 says that the 专讘讬谞讜 讗诇讞谞谉 doesn't accept that, because we could still be afraid maybe 讞住 注诇讬讛 讚讬诇诪讗 驻拽注, that maybe he won't really put in enough fire because he'll be afraid it might crack. And the 讚讬谉 is that whenever there is a 讞砖砖 that maybe you will not 讻砖专 it properly, so even if you do it properly, it is no good. The 专讘谞谉 don't allow you to do it even properly, as a 讙讝讬专讛 you might not do it properly. As we find in the 讙诪专讗 in 驻住讞讬诐 讚祝 诇壮 where it says a person should not fill up pots with hot coal, and that's how that he should 讻砖专 it, because we're afraid that he's not gonna put in enough because he'll be afraid that the pot will crack. So if we're afraid by pots that they might crack, and therefore the 讞讻诪讬诐 said do not 讻砖专 it that way, certainly by 讞讘讬讜转 which is made of earthenware, certainly it's able to crack, and certainly a person would be careful not to put in too much, it shouldn't get burned, so therefore you should not be able to 讻砖专 it by putting the fire inside because we're afraid that he will not put in enough fire. And then 转讜住驻讜转 says that the 专讘讬谞讜 诪砖讛 诪拽讜爪讬 writes that even though we 驻住拽谉 the 讛诇讻讛 here in the 讙诪专讗 that it's 讗住讜专, that if you only put the fire inside it is 讗住讜专 and you can't 讻砖专 a 讻诇讬 that way, still if you take a 讞讘讬讜转 and you turn it over over a fire, if the fire is very strong and very big from the inside and on the outside if you touch it, it'll be 讬讚 住讜诇讚转 which means your hand will get burned, you will automatically remove your hand from it, that is considered like 讛讙注诇讛 and it is okay. And then
转讜住驻讜转 says that 讘讻诇诇 concerning 讛讙注诇讛, which is the normal way of 讻砖专讬谞讙, the 专讘讬谞讜 转诐 was 诪转讬专 to 讻砖专 a 讞讘讬讜转, to make it 讻砖专 from 讬讬谉 谞住讱, enough if you opened up one of the ends and you put hot water into it, and then you just take the water and you put it all over the 讻诇讬, that is enough. Even though by other 讗讬住讜专讬诐 this is not considered 讻砖专讬谞讙, because this is not even considered 注讬专讜讬 讻诇讬 专讗砖讜谉. By 讻砖专讬谞讙 we know that there are a few stages. You have a way of 讻砖专讬谞讙 that you take the 讟专讬驻讛 讻诇讬, the 讻诇讬 that absorbed non-讻砖专 food, and you immerse it in boiling water. That water is considered 讻诇讬 专讗砖讜谉 because it's boiling water that is a 讻诇讬 专讗砖讜谉. Now there is a second stage, which in some cases is okay, if you take that boiling water that was burned over the fire and you pour the water over the non-讻砖专 讻诇讬, so that is considered 注讬专讜讬 讻诇讬 专讗砖讜谉. But the case that we just said now is not even 注讬专讜讬 讻诇讬 专讗砖讜谉, because what he did was, he poured the hot water in it, and then he takes that hot water and puts it all over the 讻诇讬, which is even less than 注讬专讜讬 讻诇讬 专讗砖讜谉. So by a regular 讗讬住讜专, if you wanna 讻砖专 it that way, it wouldn't help. But in the case of 讬讬谉 谞住讱 the 专讘讬谞讜 转诐 was 诪转讬专. And he said why? Because usually 讬讬谉 谞住讱 are used for cold as the 讙诪专讗 says, and therefore, since the way it was absorbed was only through cold, therefore this would be enough to 讻砖专 it. And he brings a 专讗讬讛 from the 讙诪专讗 later on, where it says that 专讘讬 讬讜住讬 said concerning this 讚讬谉 that 讞讜诇讟谉 讘诪讬 讝讬转讬诐, that you could even put over it water that comes from olives, which by other 讗讬住讜专讬诐 this wouldn't help, so we see that in this 讗讬住讜专 it is much easier. Then 转讜住驻讜转 says that the 专状讬 said that it's a 诪爪讜讛 诪谉 讛诪讜讘讞专, it would be a 讛讬讚讜专, it would be very good if a person would 讻砖专 every piece of wood separately. In other words, he would take the 讻诇讬 apart, and take every wood separately, and pour on every wood from the 讻诇讬 专讗砖讜谉 itself. That would be enough. Even though the boiling of the 讻诇讬, of the water that's in the 讻诇讬 would stop when you take it off the fire, and when you pour it, nevertheless, in this case it would be enough. Then 转讜住驻讜转 says that what some people would do is, that they would take a 诪讞讘转, a pan, and fill it up with water, and put it on the fire and have it heat up till it boils, and then have a plate over it that the boiling ing water would overflow into the plate, and the water of that plate would be used to 讻砖专. So the 专"讬 was 诪住讜驻拽, he was in doubt whether this helps like a 讻诇讬 专讗砖讜谉 or not, whether the water that overflowed into the plate is considered a 讻诇讬 专讗砖讜谉, has the same heat as water that was boiled up over the fire or not. And therefore, since it was a 住驻拽, he was 诪讞诪讬专, and he said that you shouldn't use this water to 讻砖专, because this is considered like a 讻诇讬 砖谞讬. Also concerning the 诪讞诇讜拽转 here that we have between 专讘 讗讞讗 and 专讘讬谞讗 whether you're allowed to 讻砖专 with the 讻讬住谞讗, also on this 讙诪专讗 where we had a 诪讞诇讜拽转 between 专讘 讗讞讗 and 专讘讬谞讗 concerning 讻讬住谞讗, if you take the little pieces of wood and you put it inside the jar, whether it is enough to 讻砖专 it or not, and it said one said 讗住讜专 and one said 诪讜转专, and the 讛诇讻讛 is that it's 讗住讜专. Now here it doesn't say which one says 诪讜转专 and which one says 讗住讜专. So 转讜住驻讜转 says, in the whole 转讜专讛 usually 专讘讬谞讗 was always the one that was 诪讬拽诇, and 专讘 讗讞讗 was always the one that was 诪讞诪讬专. And always the 讛诇讻讛 is like 专讘讬谞讗 who goes 诇拽讜诇讗, as the 讙诪专讗 says in 驻专拽 讙讬讚 讛谞砖讛 in 讞讜诇讬谉 讚祝 爪"讙. So 转讜住驻讜转 says this is the reason why here the 讙诪专讗 has to say clearly 讚讛诇讻转讗 讻诪讗谉 讚讗住专, the 讛诇讻讛 is like the one that makes it 讗住讜专, because this would be an exception to the rule. Because usually the 讛诇讻讛 would be 诇拽讜诇讗, so therefore here the 讙诪专讗 has to specifically say that 讛诇讻讛 is like the one that is 讗住专, because to tell us that this is an exception to the general rule. Then the 讙诪专讗 says 讗讬讘注讬讗 诇讛讜, there was a question asked: 诪讛讜 诇讬转谉 诇转讜讻讜 砖讻专, what is the 讚讬谉, can you put beer into this 讻诇讬 that came from a 讙讜讬? In other words, the 讻诇讬 that absorbed 讬讬谉 谞住讱 from the 讙讜讬, so we said before you're allowed to put into it 诇讻转讞讬诇讛 爪讬专 讜诪讜专讬住, because the taste of the 爪讬专 讜诪讜专讬住, the sharpness of it will burn out the taste of the 讬讬谉 谞住讱. So the question is: what is the 讚讬谉, can you put beer in it? 讗讝诇 专诪讗 讘讬讛 讞诪专讗, so he went and he put wine in it. When he heard that you're allowed to put beer in it, he thought you're allowed to put wine in it also, and he went and put in wine. 讜讗驻讬诇讜 讛讻讬 诇讗 讞砖 诇讛 诇诪讬诇转讗, and still he did not care, because 诇讻讗讜专讛 专讘讬谞讗 should have seen that since he allowed to put beer in, he went and put wine in, so 诇讻讗讜专讛 this should have been a reason for him to say that you shouldn't put beer in either as 讙讝讬专讛 that if you put beer in, then other people will put wine in, as he actually saw it happen. Still he didn't care and this didn't make him change his mind and make 讙讝讬专讛 and 讗住专 to put beer in. 讗诪专, he said: 讗拽专讗讬 讘注诇诪讗, it just happened. It wasn't something that happens very often, it just happened once. So from there is no 专讗讬讛 that this is something that could happen very often, that it should be a reason that you should make 讙讝讬专讛, and therefore he still didn't make a 讙讝讬专讛 and he still said that you are allowed to put beer in. 专讘 讬爪讞拽 讘专 讘讬住谞讗 讛讜讜 诇讬讛 讛谞讛讜 诪讗谞讬 讚驻讞讜住谞讗, 专讘 讬爪讞拽 讘专 讘讬住谞讗 had these 讻诇讬诐, 讙讜讬讬砖注 讻诇讬诐 that were made of 驻讞讜住谞讗, which means of clay and ordure, 诪诇讬谞讛讜 诪讬讗, he filled it up with water, as we said before that the way to 讻砖专 a 讙讜讬讬砖注 讻诇讬 is by filling it up in water and letting it soak for three days, and then 讗谞讞讬谞讛讜 讘砖诪砖讗, he put it in the sun. He wanted to do an extra thing afterwards, put it in the sun to dry. 驻拽注讜, they cracked. 讗诪专 诇讬讛 专讘讗, 专讘讗 said to him: 讗住专转讬谞讛讜 诇谞驻砖讱 讗讬住讜专讗 讚诇注讜诇诐, now you made it 讗住讜专 forever, now you can't use it, because had you not have done it, then you would be able to use it, but now that you did it, you made it 讗住讜专 for yourself forever meaning it now you spoiled it, because he really didn't have to do it. 讗讬诪专 讚讗诪讜专 专讘谞谉, what did 专讘谞谉 say? 诪诇讬谞讛讜 诪讬讗, that you have to fill it up with water. 讗谞讜讞讬 讘砖诪砖讗 诪讬 讗诪讜专? Did they say that you should put it into the sun? So you didn't have to do it, and since you did it, you spoiled it for yourself. Then the 讙诪专讗 says, 讗诪专 专讘 讗住讬 讗诪专 专讘讬 讬讜讞谞谉, 专讘 讗住讬 said in the name of 专讘讬 讬讜讞谞谉: 讻诇讬 谞转专, a 讻诇讬 made of 谞转专, 讗讬谉 诇讜 讟讛专讛 注讜诇诪讬转, you could never 讻砖专 it. 诪讗讬 讻诇讬 谞转专, the 讙诪专讗 asks: what is the meaning of 讻诇讬 谞转专? 讗诪专 专讘讬 讬讜住讬 讘专 讗讘讬谉, so 专讘讬 讬讜住讬 讘专 讗讘讬谉 said: 讻诇讬 诪讞驻讜专转 砖诇 爪专讬祝, a 讻诇讬, a vessel made of crystals coming from an alum mine. Then the 讙诪专讗 continues: 讚讘讬 驻专讝拽 专讜驻讬诇讗, there were some people from 驻专讝拽 who was the second to the king, 讗谞住 讛谞讬 讻讜讘讬 诪驻讜诪讘讚讬转讗, they seized some vessels from 驻讜诪讘讚讬转讗, from some 讬讬讚谉 of 驻讜诪讘讚讬转讗, they were wine casks from the 讬讬讚谉 of 驻讜诪讘讚讬转讗. 专诪讜 讘讛讜 讞诪专讗, they put wine into it. 讗讛讚专讬谞讛讜 谞讬讛诇讬讬讛讜, and they gave it back to them. 讗转讜 砖讬讬诇讜讛讜 诇专讘 讬讛讜讚讛, so the owners of these vessels came to ask 专讘 讬讛讜讚讛 whether they're allowed to use it or not. 讗诪专, he said, 讚讘专 砖讗讬谉 诪讻谞讬住讜 诇拽讬讜诐 讛讜讗, that this is a case of vessels that were only taken for temporary use. It wasn't that they put the 讗讬住讜专 in 诇拽讬讜诐 for a permanent use, but they just put it in for a temporary use. So then the 讚讬谉 is 诪砖讻砖讻谉 讘诪讬诐 讜讛诐 诪讜转专讬谉. All you have to do is rinse it with water and they are permitted. 讗诪专 专讘 讗讜讬讗, 专讘 讗讜讬讗 said: 讛谞讬 讞爪讘讬 砖讞讬诪讬 讚讗专诪讗讬, these jugs of 讙讜讬诐 made of dark clay, 讻讬讜讜谉 讚诇讗 讘诇注讬 讟讜讘讗, since they don't absorb a lot, 诪砖讻砖讻谉 讘诪讬诐 讜诪讜转专讬谉. All you do is rinse it with water, it's enough. And there was special 讻诇讬诐 that were made with very hard clay and didn't absorb a lot, so then you don't even have to 讻砖专, you just have to rinse it and it's 诪讜转专. 讗诪专 专讘 驻驻讗, 专讘 驻驻讗 said: 讛谞讬 驻住讜讜住讗 讚讘讬 诪讬讻住讗, or as a 讙讬专住讗 said on the side of the 讙诪专讗, 讛谞讬 讻诇讬 驻住讜讜住讗 讚讘讬 诪讬讻住讗, which means these earthenware of the place called 诪讬讻住讗, 讻讬讜讜谉 讚诇讗 讘诇注 讟讜讘讗, since they don't absorb a lot, because they were also made of hard clay, so it didn't absorb a lot, 诪砖讻砖讻谉 讘诪讬诐 讜诪讜转专讬谉, you are just to rinse it in water and they are allowed. Then the
讙诪专讗 says: 讻住讗, what about cups? Cups which are used for 讬讬谉 谞住讱, but they're only used to drink, they're not used to store 讬讬谉 谞住讱 in it. Can you use them or not? 专讘 讗住讬 讗住专 讜专讘 讗砖讬 砖专讬. 专讘 讗住讬 said it's forbidden, and 专讘 讗砖讬 said that it's 诪讜转专. And the 讙诪专讗 explains it: 讗讬 砖转讜 讘讛讜 注讜讘讚讬 讻讜讻讘讬诐 驻注诐 专讗砖讜谉, if a 讙讜讬 just drank from it the first time, which means that when it was new, the first drink that was used was used by a 讙讜讬 for 讬讬谉 谞住讱, 讻讜诇讬 注诇诪讗 诇讗 驻诇讬讙讬, no one argues, everyone holds 讚讗住讜专, that it's 讗住讜专, because since nothing was absorbed in it yet, and the first thing that was absorbed was the wine of the 讙讜讬, so that is definitely 讗住讜专. 讻讬 驻诇讬讙讬, where do they argue? 讘驻注诐 砖谞讬, if the 讙讜讬 drank from it the second time. First it absorbed 讻砖专 things, then the 讙讜讬 drank from it. The 砖讗诇讛 is, is this considered also that it absorbed 讬讬谉 谞住讱 and it should be 讗住讜专 or not? 讗讬讻讗 讚讗诪专讬, some say 驻注诐 专讗砖讜谉 讜砖谞讬 讻讜诇讬 注诇诪讗 诇讗 驻诇讬讙讬 讚讗住讜专, that concerning the first or second time, everyone agrees that it's 讗住讜专, because even the second time we know for sure that it absorbed. If it only was used once before and then the 讙讜讬 used it, it definitely absorbed the 讬讬谉 谞住讱 from the 讙讜讬, and it is 讗住讜专. 讻讬 驻诇讬讙讬, where do they argue? 讘驻注诐 讙讬诪状诇, concerning a third time. The first two times that it was used was used for 讻砖专 things, then the third use was done by a 讙讜讬. That's when the question is whether it is 讗住讜专 or 诪讜转专. 讜讛诇讻转讗, and the
讛诇讻讛 is 驻注诐 专讗砖讜谉 讜砖谞讬 讗住讜专, and if it was used by the 讙讜讬 the first or even the second time, it is 讗住讜专. 讙讬诪状诇, if it was used by the 讙讜讬 the third time, 诪讜转专, then it's 诪讜转专. This is the way 专砖状讬 learns 驻砖讟 in this 讙诪专讗. But 转讜住驻讜转 asks a 拽砖讬讗 on 专砖状讬 that it says later on in 讚祝 注状讚 that 诪讜讚讛 专讘讬 诪讗讬专 讘拽谞拽谞讬诐 砖讛谉 讗住讜专讬诐, that 专讘讬 诪讗讬专 says that 拽谞拽谞讬诐, these earthenware jugs, are 讗住讜专 because 诪讻谞讬住谉 诇拽讬讜诐, because the 讙讜讬诐 store wine in it. It's 诪砖诪注 that the only reason it is 讗住讜专 and you must 讻砖专 it is because the 讙讜讬诐 store wine in it. But if not for this reason that they store wine in it, but it would be a 讻诇讬 that is just used temporary, then it would be enough just if you dry it, if you just rinse it once. But here it comes out that even if it's a 讻诇讬 which is not made 诇拽讬讜诐, like the cups here which are not used to store the wine in it, just to drink in it, nevertheless it says the 讚讬谉 that if the 讙讜讬 was the first one to use it for wine, or the second time even if he used it for wine, the 讚讬谉 is that you must 讻砖专 it. When there it says that the only reason you must 讻砖专 it is because they are 拽谞拽谞讬诐, they are jugs that the 讙讜讬 would store the wine in it, but if not for that, if it would be just used temporarily, then you could take it from the 讙讜讬 and you don't have to 讻砖专 it, you just dry it. Therefore, the 专讘讬谞讜 转诐 learns a different 驻砖讟 here concerning the meaning of first time, second time, or third time. He says that here we are talking by cups, and it makes no difference whether they are old or new, and even if the 讙讜讬 drank a lot of wine in it many times, the whole 砖讗诇讛 in the 讙诪专讗 is, since they are only cups, it was only used temporarily, it wasn't used to store the wine in it, the 砖讗诇讛 is do you have to 讻砖专 it or don't you have to 讻砖专 it? And when the 讙诪专讗 says the 诇砖讜谉 that there's a difference between a first time and the second time or the third time, it doesn't mean whether the 讙讜讬 was the first one to use it, or the 讙讜讬 was the second one to use it, Or the third one. It means how many times must you rinse it in order to make it 讻砖专. So when the 讙诪专讗 says that everyone agrees that concerning the first time it's 讗住讜专, it means that when you buy or take a cup from a 讙讜讬 that he used, so one thing is for sure, once you must rinse it. 诪讞诇讜拽转 is, must you rinse it twice? And then the 讗讬讻讗 讚讗诪专讬 says that even twice everyone agrees you must rinse it. The 诪讞诇讜拽转 is whether you must rinse it three times. And the 讛诇讻讛 is that 驻注诐 专讗砖讜谉 讜砖谞讬 讗住讜专, which means that two times is not enough, the third time, if you rinse it three times, it's enough, because we assume since it didn't really absorb much, because it was only used to drink, not to store, so by rinsing it, it takes out the taste from the 讻诇讬. So once and twice if you rinse it, it's not enough, but when you rinse it a third time, it definitely takes out the taste from the 讻诇讬. And 转讜住驻讜转 brings a 专讗讬讛 to this 诇砖讜谉 from the 讙诪专讗 in 讝讘讞讬诐. There it says 讞专住讜谉 砖诇 讝讘 讜讝讘讛, if you have a 讞专住讜谉, which means a 讻诇讬 where the 讝讘 讜讝讘讛 do their needs, they put their 诪讬 专讙诇讬诐 there, so it says that 诪讬诐 专讗砖讜谞讬诐 讜砖谞讬讬诐 讟诪讗讬诐. First and second water is still 讟诪讗, because the liquid of a 讝讘 is 讟诪讗. So it says the 诇砖讜谉 that the first or second time of the water, it is still 讟诪讗, the third time is 讟讛讜专. What does that mean there? It means that after you take the 讻诇讬 and you rinse it. So after you rinse it the first time, it is still 讟诪讗, because we are still afraid that a little drop of the 诪讬 专讙诇讬诐 of the 讝讘 or 讝讘讛 is still there, and it's still 讟诪讗. The second time again means if you even rinse it the second time, it's still 讟诪讗, because you're still not sure that all the 诪讬 专讙诇讬诐 of the 讝讘 or 讝讘讛 are taken away. The third time it's 讟讛讜专. When you rinse it the third time, then we know for sure that there is nothing left. And the same thing is here also: the first or second rinsing is not enough, but the third rinsing, that's when it is okay. And 转讜住驻讜转 brings another 专讗讬讛, that it says in 诪讚专砖 on 诪讙讬诇转 讗住转专, when 讛诪谉 had a 讟注谞讛 and he said to 讗讞砖讜专讜砖, 讬砖谞讜 注诐 讗讞讚, that there is this one nation that their laws are different than all other nations. So it says that one of the things he said to 讗讞砖讜专讜砖 was that if a fly would fall into a cup of one of them, he would just take the fly out, pour the fly out, and he would drink the wine. But if you yourself, the king, would touch it, then what would he do? He would
throw it to the ground, he would pour out the wine, and not only that, that he wouldn't even use the cup that the wine was in it, but he would rinse the cup three times. So we see that you have to rinse the cup three times. And this is what the 讙诪专讗 means here, that 驻注诐 专讗砖讜谞讛 讜砖谞讬讛 讗住讜专, by rinsing once or twice it's still 讗住讜专, if you rinse it the third time, that's when it becomes 诪讜转专. And 转讜住驻讜转 says this is only if they are cups of 讞专住, of earthenware. But if they are cups of wood, or of metal, or of glass, then you only have to rinse it once. On the other hand, 转讜住驻讜转 says that we do find different places in the 讙诪专讗 where it says the word 讻讜住 住转诐, and it doesn't explain what kind of 讻讜住, and it doesn't necessarily mean a 讻讜住 of earthenware, it could mean of metal or of glass. So according to that, when it says in our 讙诪专讗 that 讻讜住讜转 you have to rinse three times, it could be that it doesn't mean only 讻讜住讜转 of earthenware, could be it means also 讻讜住讜转 of glass or of metal. Therefore, 转讜住驻讜转 says it is good to be 诪讞诪讬专, and if you take a glass from a 讙讜讬, you should even rinse it even if it is not made of earthenware, if it's made of some other material, because maybe this is what the 讙诪专讗 means. Then the 讙诪专讗 continues, 讗诪专 专讘 讝讘讬讚, 专讘 讝讘讬讚 said, 讛讗讬 诪讗谞讗 讚拽讜谞讬讗, if you have these 讻诇讬诐 made of earthenware, but they are covered with lead, 讞讬讜专讬 讜讗讜讻诪讬, the white ones and the black ones, 砖专讬, are allowed. 讬专讜拽讬, 讗住讜专. The green ones, they are 讗住讜专. And the reason is 诪砖讜诐 讚诪爪专讬祝, because it contains a certain material in it which comes from a certain sand, that this makes it absorb a lot, and therefore, the green ones are 讗住讜专. 讜讗讬 讗讬转 讘讛讜 拽专讟讜驻谞讬, if it has cracks, 讻讜诇讛讜 讗住讬专讬, they are all 讗住讜专. Since it has cracks, so through the cracks it gets absorbed, and it goes into the 讻诇讬 讞专住, because under the lead you have 讞专住, you have earthenware, that's why it's 讗住讜专. 讚专砖 诪专讬诪专, 诪专讬诪专 讚专砖, 拽讜谞讬讗, the 讻诇讬诐 made of earthenware covered with lead, 讘讬谉 讗讜讻诪讬, 讘讬谉 讞讬讜专讬, 讘讬谉 讬专讜拽讬, whether it is black, or white, or green, 砖专讬 and is 诪讜转专. But then the 讙诪专讗 asks, 诪讗讬 砖谞讗 诪讞诪抓 讘驻住讞? Why should this be different than concerning the 讚讬谉 of 讞诪抓 on 驻住讞? Because we know 讚讘注讜 诪讬谞讬讛 诪诪专讬诪专, there was a question asked of 诪专讬诪专, of the same 诪专讬诪专 that said here that they are all 诪讜转专, whether it is black, white, or green, but he was asked a question, like 讛讗讬 诪讗谞讗 讚拽讜谞讬讗, these 讻诇讬诐 made of earthenware covered with lead, 诪讛讜 诇讗砖转诪讜砖讬 讘讛讜 讘驻住讞讗? What is the 讚讬谉, can we use it on 驻住讞? 驻住讞, they were 讞诪爪讚讬拽注 讻诇讬诐 that absorbed 讞诪抓, the question was, can we use them on 驻住讞? And they said to him like this: 讬专讜拽讬 诇讗 转讬讘注讬 诇讱, green ones we don't ask you, 讚诪爪专驻讗 讘诇注讬, since they have this material over it, in it, that makes it absorb, so that we don't even ask, 讜讗住讬专讬, we know for sure it's 讗住讜专. 讻讬 转讬讘注讬 诇讱, what was our question? 讞讬讜专讬 讜讗讜讻诪讬 诪讗讬, the white ones and the black ones, what is the 讚讬谉? And they said even more: 讻讬 讗讬转 讘讛讜 拽专讟讜驻谞讬, if it has cracks, 诇讗 转讬讘注讬 诇讱, we're not asking you, 讚讜讜讚讗讬 讘诇注讬, that definitely absorbs, 讜讗住讬专讬, it is for sure 讗住讜专. 讻讬 转讬讘注讬 诇讱, when do we ask you? 讚砖讬注讬, if it's smooth and has no cracks, 诪讗讬, what is the 讚讬谉? 讗诪专 诇讛讜, so he said to them, 讗谞讗 讞讝讬谞讗 诇讛讜 讚诪讚讬讬爪讬, I saw these 讻诇讬诐 and they sweat. 讜讻讬讜讜谉 讚诪讚讬讬爪讬, since they sweat, 讜讚讗讬 讘诇注讬, certainly they absorb, 讜讗住讬专讬, and they are 讗住讜专. Because since they sweat by having the liquid inside and they sweat outside, that shows that the liquid goes through the 讻诇讬, so obviously it absorbs. Now since it absorbs, there's nothing you could do with it. You can't even 拽砖专 it. Because inside is 讻诇讬 讞专住, is earthenware, and earthenware you cannot 拽砖专. 诪讗讬 讟注诪讗, what is the reason? 讛转讜专讛 讛注讬讚讛 注诇 讻诇讬 讞专住 砖讗讬谞讜 讬讜爪讗 诪讬讚讬 讚讜驻谞讜 诇注讜诇诐. The 转讜专讛 testified that whatever is absorbed in a 讻诇讬 讞专住 will never come out. Where did the 转讜专讛 testify? The 转讜专讛 says that if a 讻诇讬 讞专住 absorbed 讗讬住讜专, 讬砖讘专, it should be broken. And there is nothing you could do with it, just break it. So that shows that it'll never come out from the walls, from the 讻诇讬, and therefore this cannot be 拽砖专'讚. But the question is: 诪讗讬 砖谞讗 诪讬讬谉 谞住讱 讚讚专砖 诇讬讛 诪专讬诪专 讻讜诇讛讜 诪讗谞讬 讚拽讜谞讬讗 砖专讬, why is this different than the same 讻诇讬诐 concerning 讬讬谉 谞住讱, that the same 诪专讬诪专 said that they are all 诪讜转专? Here we see that he said they are all 讗住讜专. Concerning 讞诪抓 讘驻住讞, he said you can't use it on 驻住讞, and you can't even 拽砖专 it. And concerning the case of 讬讬谉 谞住讱, he 讚专砖'谞讚 that all of them, whether they are black or white or green, they are allowed. 讜讻讬 转讬诪讗, and if you'll tell me the difference is because 讞诪抓 讚讗讜专讬讬转讗 and 讬讬谉 谞住讱 讚专讘谞谉, because the 讗讬住讜专 of 讞诪抓 is an 讗讬住讜专 讚讗讜专讬讬转讗, and therefore he was 诪讞诪讬专 there, but here we're talking about 讬讬谉 谞住讱, meaning not real 讬讬谉 谞住讱 that was poured in front of 注讘讜讚讛 讝专讛, because that is also 讚讗讜专讬讬转讗, but we're talking about 住转诐 讬讬谞诐 that the 讞讻诪讬诐 讗住专'讚, as a 讙讝讬专讛 to 讬讬谉 谞住讱 or as a 讙讝讬专讛 to 讞转谞讜转 not to intermarry, which is only a 讚讬谉 讚专讘谞谉, and therefore he was 诪拽讬诇, but that is not a good enough answer, because we know the 讻诇诇: 讜讛讗 讻诇 讚转讬拽讜谉 讚专讘谞谉 讻注讬谉 讚讗讜专讬讬转讗 转讬拽讜谉. Anything that the 专讘谞谉 were 诪转拽谉, any 讚讬谉 that the 专讘谞谉 made, they made it similar to 讚讗讜专讬讬转讗. And therefore, if in the same case, by a 讚讬谉 讚讗讜专讬讬转讗 it should be 讗住讜专, then by a 讚讬谉 讚专讘谞谉 it should also be 讗住讜专, because the 专讘谞谉 is similar to 讚讗讜专讬讬转讗. And the 讙诪专讗 answers, difference is: 讝讛 转砖诪讬砖讜 讘讞诪讬谉 讜讝讛 转砖诪讬砖讜 讘爪讜谞谉. This one is used in hot, when you use the 讻诇讬 for 讞诪抓, it is also used for hot, so it absorbed through hot, and therefore there you cannot use it and you can't even 拽砖专 it. But here, concerning 讬讬谉 谞住讱, it only absorbed through cold, because it's only used in cold, so even though it does absorb, but still could use it because since it absorbed in cold, it didn't absorb it that much, and therefore you could use it. Concerning this 讻诇讬 that we are discussing here, which the 讙诪专讗 calls 拽讜谞讬讗, so as we said before, 专砖状讬 learns that this is covered with lead. 转讜住驻讜转 asks that in 讙诪专讗 讝讘讞讬诐 it says concerning the 诪讝讘讞 a 诇砖讜谉 that 住讬讚 讜拽讜谞讬讗. Now if 拽讜谞讬讗 means lead, then the 讙诪专讗 should not have used the 诇砖讜谉 拽讜谞讬讗, but a 诇砖讜谉 讗讘专. Because usually in the 讙诪专讗 the 诇砖讜谉 is 讗讘专, as we find other places it says 驻住讬诇讗 砖诇 讗讘专, so it should have said 讗讘专 not 拽讜谞讬讗. And also, why should a 讻诇讬 which is covered with lead be worse than if it's completely made of lead? And another question: here in the 讙诪专讗 it says that the green ones are 讗住讜专 because they do absorb, 讚诪爪专祝, because they have that mixture in it. So 转讜住驻讜转 says, we see our 讻诇讬诐 that they have the green lead and they're not 诪爪专祝. So therefore 转讜住驻讜转 says that here it doesn't mean covered with lead, but it means glazed, covered with glass. Not real glass, but glass that's taken from sand, and it's not completely finished, and they cover the 讻诇讬. So here, since it comes from sand, it is similar like a 讻诇讬 讞专住. Because 讻诇讬 讞专住 is made of sand, and glass is also made of sand. Now normally, a 讻诇讬 讝讻讜讻讬转, glass, doesn't absorb. But here, since the whole 讻诇讬 is not made of glass, it's just covered with the glass that's glazed, this the 讙诪专讗 says does absorb. So according to 转讜住驻讜转, it's not a 讻诇讬 covered with lead, but it's a 讻诇讬 covered with glass. Then concerning what we learn in the 讙诪专讗, that the 转讜专讛 testified that a 讻诇讬 讞专住, whatever was absorbed inside will never come out, 诇讻讗讜专讛 what's the 驻砖讟 it'll never come out? 转讜住驻讜转 asks, we know that if you put it back into the oven, into the furnace, then you could use the 讻诇讬. As the 讙诪专讗 says in 驻专拽 讚诐 讞讟讗转 in 讝讘讞讬诐 讚祝 爪状讜, it says concerning the 讻诇讬 讞专住 of the 诪拽讚砖, so it says there that the reason why we can't use the 讻诇讬 讞专住 over again and put it into the furnace because 讗讬谉 注讜砖讬谉 讻讘砖讜谞讜转 讘讬专讜砖诇讬诐, because we were not allowed to make furnaces in 讬专讜砖诇讬诐. But if not for that, in other words, if you could make furnaces in 讬专讜砖诇讬诐, then by putting it into the furnace, whatever was absorbed would go out. So we see from that 讙诪专讗 that even by a 讻诇讬 讞专住, if it's put into the 讻讘砖讜谉, then it takes out whatever was absorbed inside. So how come the 讙诪专讗 says here that the 转讜专讛 testified that whatever is absorbed in a 讻诇讬 讞专住 will never come out, but it will come out through being put back into the 讻讘砖讜谉? And the 专讘讬谞讜 转诐 answers that that is not considered that it comes out of the 讻诇讬 讞专住, because it is considered as if it's a new 讻诇讬, or we say is 驻谞讬诐 讞讚砖讜转 讘讗讜 诇讻讗谉. If you put it back into the furnace, there's a new face, it's like a new 讻诇讬. What the 讙诪专讗 says here is that to remain the same 讻诇讬 and to do something to take out what is absorbed in the 讻诇讬, that we don't find. But to turn it into a new 讻诇讬, that is something else, and that you could do. But then 转讜住驻讜转 asks: Since we do consider it like a new 讻诇讬, then why is the 讚讬谉 转谞讜专 讜讻讬专讬诐 讬讜转抓, that if an oven became 讗住讜专, it says you should break it, and these are ovens made of clay, made of 讻诇讬 讞专住. Why should you break it? Why does the 转讜专讛 say you have to destroy it? Why can't you put it back into the 讻讘砖讜谉, and then it'll become 诪讜转专? 转讜住驻讜转 says that the 专讘 砖诪砖讜谉 诪砖讗谞抓 says that by pots of 讞专住, which is not normally used in fire, so here by putting it back into the furnace, you could say that now it is a new 讻诇讬. Normally it is not used in the fire; when you heat it up in a such a strong fire like the furnace, that brings it, makes it into a new 讻诇讬. But a 转谞讜专 讜讻讬专讬诐, an oven, which is always used with heat, and the way it became 讗住讜专 is also through heat, the 讗讬住讜专 that was absorbed in the 讻诇讬 will not come out even if you put it into the furnace, and it would not be considered like a new 讻诇讬. But the 讘状讞 brings here that in 驻专拽 讚诐 讞讟讗转 is 诪砖诪注 from 转讜住驻讜转 that 转讜住驻讜转 hold that when we say that by a 转谞讜专 讜讻讬专讬诐 heating up doesn't help, only if you heat it up from the inside. But if you're going to heat it from the outside, which would be the same way as was originally made, because when they originally make it, they put the whole thing into the 讻讘砖讜谉, into the furnace, and it is burnt from the inside and the outside, so if you would do that to the 转谞讜专 讜讻讬专讬诐, it would help even in the case of 转谞讜专 讜讻讬专讬诐, because then it would be considered that it is a new 讻诇讬. Concerning the 转讜住驻讜转 that we mentioned before, that 转讜住驻讜转 learns that the 讻诇讬 拽讜谞讬讗 that we're talking about here is not covered with lead as 专砖状讬 learns, but covered with glass. And one of the 拽讜砖讬讜转 that 转讜住驻讜转 asked was that if it means covered with lead, why should it be different than if the whole 讻诇讬 is of lead? If the whole 讻诇讬 is of lead, it is okay, why shouldn't it be good if it's just covered with lead? And 转讜住驻讜转 learned that it doesn't mean that it's covered with lead, but it's covered with glass. And even though normally a 讻诇讬 made of glass does not absorb because it's smooth, but if it's only covered with glass, it could absorb. Now 诇讻讗讜专讛 转讜住驻讜转 contradicts itself, because 转讜住驻讜转 doesn't understand why should there be a difference if it's covered with lead than if the whole 讻诇讬 is lead, and then 转讜住驻讜转 in their own 驻砖讟 come and say the same thing, that there's a difference whether it's made only of glass or if it's just covered with glass. So the 诪讛专砖状讗 explains that it's not the same. If you learn that it means it's covered with lead, so then we assume that just like a 讻诇讬 of lead doesn't absorb, a 讻诇讬 covered with lead shouldn't absorb either. But according to 转讜住驻讜转 that it's covered with glass, so here, since the 讻诇讬 is a 讻诇讬 讞专住, and 讞专住 is made of earth, of sand, and glass is also made of sand, so here, if the whole 讻诇讬 is of glass, 讟讗拽注 it's different, then it doesn't absorb. But if the whole 讻诇讬 is made of 讞专住, and just the covering is of glass, which is the same 诪讬谉, the same general material as the 讞专住, so here it makes sense to say that if it's just covered, so the 讞专住 would absorb through the glass, because glass and 讞专住 is the same thing. But if you learn that it means covered with lead, then there is no reason to say that if it is just covered with lead, it should be different than if the whole 讻诇讬 is lead. That's why 转讜住驻讜转 asked the 拽砖讬讗 on 专砖状讬, but according to 转讜住驻讜转's own 驻砖讟, it is understood.
