Parshas Va'eira
Sparing Eretz Goshen from ערוב as proof that Hashem is found even in a Yid who is בקרב הארץ, sunk in gashmiyus.
Part of Shemot
A deeper read of למען תדע כי אני ה' בקרב הארץ: not simply that Hashem is present in the land generally, but that even a Yid mired in the lowest, most materialistic madreigah still carries Hashem within him, because every neshamah is a חלק אלוקה ממעל ממש. Sparing Goshen from the makkah of arov was Hashem's demonstration that the Yidden are different at every level, high or low.

A vort from the Rebbe on this week's parshah. In the parshah when it talks about the plague, the makah of arov, Hashem will send all the wild animals, the pasuk says that Hashem said, והפליתי ביום ההוא את ארץ גשן אשר עמי עומד עליה לבלתי היות שם ערוב, I will separate that day the land of Goshen, that's where my nation is standing, which means the Yidden lived in Goshen, that there there will be no makah of arov. And the pasuk continues, למען תדע, so you shall know, כי אני השם בקרב הארץ, that I am God, בקרב הארץ literally means amongst, in the midst of the land. So the pashut pshat is that he's saying that you will recognize through that that I am Hashem here in the land.
But the Rebbe taytsh't a little bit deeper, that the pshat is like this: He's saying I'm going to separate Goshen, the makah will not be there, so you will see how special the Yidden are. And he's saying there will be no arov, that's where the Yidden lived, there will be no arov in Goshen, so you shall know that I am השם, בקרב הארץ means amongst those Yidden who are in the aretz, which means like this: The aretz, the land, represents a very low madregah. It's the real gashmiyus, materialistic part of the world. So it represents a low madregah. You can have Yidden who, unfortunately, are in a very low madregah. They are considered בקרב הארץ. They're immersed in the aretz, in the gashmiyus, in the materialistic things. So the Eibershter says that you will know, when I separate the Yidden from Mitzrayim, that every single Yid, even the Yid who is בקרב הארץ, who's in a low madregah, still I am Hashem there. Hashem is within every single Yid because every Yid has a neshamah. And that is a חלק אלוקה ממעל ממש, a part of Hashem. No matter what kind of Yid he is, nevertheless Hashem is there. That's why Hashem said, I will separate Eretz Goshen because my nation is there, and then you will know that אני השם בקרב הארץ, I am Hashem even amongst those Yidden who are בקרב הארץ, I'm inside them too, I'm Hashem, which means I am in them too. And that's what was shown by Hashem separating Eretz Goshen, not having the מכה like the rest of Mitzrayim, to show that the Yidden are different, the Yidden are part of Hashem, no matter how they are, in a high madreigah and low madreigah, nevertheless Hashem is found in every Yid, because every Yid's neshamah is a חלק אלוקה ממעל ממש.
