LIKKUTEI SICHOS: VOLUME 26 - VAERA-PESACH

Likkutei Sichos, Vol. 26: Parshas Vaera / Pesach (Part 4)

A giver's idea always splits into three stages before a receiver's own words make it four, and why a talmid can take forty years to catch a rebbi's depth.

Part of Likkutei Sichos: Volume 26 - Vaera-Pesach

Continues the mashpia-mekabel theme through a detailed look at how sechel actually works: the difference between sechel maasi and sechel iyuni, why every true sevara is a fact that exists independent of the words used to express it, and why a receiver is always somewhat less than the one who gives, even though a talmid can eventually surpass his rebbi. Closes by applying all of it to why there are three Avos and four Imahos, tracing the difference to how a father's contribution to a child stays hidden in potential while a mother brings it into visible reality.

Recap: gimel and dalet, mashpia and mekabel, and an example from sechel itself

We're holding here in middle of ืกืขื™ืฃ ื”', page 46. The Rebbe is ืžืกื‘ื™ืจ the connection between the number three and four, the ืขื ื™ืŸ of ืžืฆื” and the ืขื ื™ืŸ of wine, and we explained that the difference between ืžืฆื” and wine ื‘ื ื•ื’ืข ื™ืฆื™ืืช ืžืฆืจื™ื is that you have two aspects in ื™ืฆื™ืืช ืžืฆืจื™ื. You have the aspect of the way that the ื™ื™ื“ืŸ were not ready for it and the ืื™ื™ื‘ืขืจืฉื˜ืขืจ schlepped them out, and then you have the end when the ื™ื™ื“ืŸ got themselves ready by the time we came to the end of ื™ืฆื™ืืช ืžืฆืจื™ื, which is ืžืชืŸ ืชื•ืจื”. So ืžืฆื”, he explains, is the way it comes that the ื™ื™ื“ืŸ themselves don't have any ื’ืขืฉืžืืง in it, it's not something that they did; and wine represents the other one where they already have a ื’ืขืฉืžืืง and they... And the Rebbe explained before that's the connection between the letters ื’' and ื“', why there's three ืžืฆื” and four wa- four wine, because the ื’ืžืจื says ื’' ื“' is ื’ืžื•ืœ ื“ืœื™ื. ื’ืžื•ืœ means give, ื“ืœื™ื is the poor, so ื’ืžื•ืœ is the ืžืฉืคื™ืข and ื“ืœื™ื, the ื“', is the ืžืงื‘ืœ. And that's exactly what we're talking about here: that ืžืฆื” represents the ืื™ื™ื‘ืขืจืฉื˜ืขืจ's part in ื™ืฆื™ืืช ืžืฆืจื™ื that He schlepped us out, the ืžืฉืคื™ืข, the ื ื•ืชืŸ; and the wine represents the ืžืงื‘ืœ, and the ืžืงื‘ืœ is four, is the ืขื ื™ืŸ of ื“ืœื™ื. And then the Rebbe explains the connection to the numbers three and four. It says in ื—ืกื™ื“ื•ืช: any ื”ืฉืคืขื” that's in the ืžืฉืคื™ืข is has three ืžื“ืจื’ื•ืช. When it comes to the ืžืงื‘ืœ, it gets a fourth ืžื“ืจื’ื”. And last time we said exactly what it means: you have three stages in the ื”ืฉืคืขื”, and then the fourth stage is when the ืžืงื‘ืœ is ืžืงื‘ืœ. So it has to do not only with the meaning of the word ื’' and the meaning of the word ื“', but it actually has to do with the number three and number four, because by the ืžืฉืคื™ืข it's three and by the ืžืงื‘ืœ it's four. We're holding by the brackets on top of the second column of 46: ืขืœ ื“ืจืš ืžืฉืœ, the Rebbe gives an example, ืคื•ืŸ ื“ื™ ืื•ืชื™ื•ืช ืคื•ืŸ ื ื“ื‘ืจ ืฉื›ืœ. This is a ื˜ื™ืคืขืจ ืขื ื™ืŸ in ื—ืกื™ื“ื•ืช, but the Rebbe puts it in a few words. When you have a ื“ื‘ืจ ืฉื›ืœ, you have two ืขื ื™ื ื™ื there: you have the ืกื‘ืจื, the idea, or ื—ืกื™ื“ื•ืช calls it the ืื•ืจ ื”ืฉื›ืœ, the ืฉื›ืœ itself, and then you have the ืื•ืชื™ื•ืช, the words which express the ืฉื›ืœ. The words are the ืžืงื‘ืœ. The ืฉื›ืœ itself doesn't have words. To give it over to somebody or to put it into your mind, you have to have words. A ืกื‘ืจื itself doesn't have words, doesn't have letters. A ืกื‘ืจื ื‘ืขืฆื, what it is, really, is a fact. Any true ืกื‘ืจื is a fact. It's not a fact in the tangible world, it's a fact in the world of ืฉื›ืœ, but it's a fact. The words are just how to express the ืฉื›ืœ or how to receive the ืฉื›ืœ, how in my mind could understand the ืฉื›ืœ, I have to have words. But the ืฉื›ืœ itself doesn't need words. The ืฉื›ืœ that's floating around in the world which is there ื‘ืขืฆื, that's a ืกื‘ืจื that's there ื‘ืขืฆื, doesn't have words. It's an ab- abstract idea. Whether it is ืฉื›ืœ ืžืขืฉื™โ€”now I think we'll get into thisโ€”or ืฉื›ืœ ืขื™ื•ื ื™... Listen to this, pay attention:

Sechel maasi and sechel iyuni: why every idea is a fact whether or not it has words

ื‘ื›ืœืœ we know there are two types of ืฉื›ืœ. There's ืฉื›ืœ ืขื™ื•ื ื™โ€”ืขื™ื•ืŸ means understanding, things which are, you know, a ืกื‘ืจื; and then you have ืฉื›ืœ ืžืขืฉื™, the ืฉื›ืœ of a physical act. ืœืžืฉืœ, you have to learn in order to be a mechanic. There's a whole ืกื‘ืจื behind it. You have to know exactly how to how the car works and how to fix the car. So you have to learn. Somebody has to explain it. To, you have to understand it, and you have to understand exactly what to do. That is called ืฉื›ืœ ืžืขืฉื™. ืžืขืฉื™. There's no ืฉื›ืœ, no ืกื‘ืจื•ืช here. You just have to know exactly how it works. It could be very hard to know, there are a lot of details. But you have to know the facts. The fact is that if you put this plug into this, and you put this into this, and you put that here, it'll start the motor going. These are facts. You in your mind have to to know the facts. The fact is there whether you know about it or not. The fact is there even if no one knows it. Before they figured out how to make a car, the facts were still there. The fact was that if you put this together with this, and you put this, and you'll have this and this together, there'll be a car. No one in the world knew it. It doesn't mean the ืกื‘ืจื isn't there. The ืกื‘ืจื is there whether there's something people who know it or not. In order to explain it to somebody, you have to use the words. But the ืฉื›ืœ is a ืฉื›ืœ in itself, but here you see more how it's a fact. The fact is, ื‘ื’ืฉืžื™ื•ืช, you put these 10 things together, it works. You have to, how a watch works. Like nowadays it's much easier because you have a battery. But before they had a battery, they had hundreds in pieces, I don't know, thousands of little, tiny pieces how made a watch work. That's why the big ื—ื™ื“ื•ืฉ of the ืจื‘ื™ ืžื”ืจืดืฉ, when he was still a young, maybe a young boy, he once took apart a watch, put it together. A watch had some hundreds or maybe thousands of little, little, tiny pieces that you have to put them together. You have to know how to do it. And he just took a watch apart, and then he was able to on his own to put it together. It's a great, oh, this guy is so smart. But the whole ืฉื›ืœ there is a ืฉื›ืœ of a fact. The fact is that if you have this ring and this thing, and these things get together, and this makes the whole thing move. So the ืกื‘ืจื of ืฉื›ืœ ืžืขืฉื™ is a fact. The ืื•ืชื™ื•ืช, the words of how to teach it are words how to transmit it, and for the person that's going to learn how to understand it. But that's not the ืกื‘ืจื. The ืกื‘ืจื are not the words. The ืกื‘ืจื are the facts. But here it's physical facts, ืคืฉื•ื˜ a fact, ื’ืฉืžื™ื•ืช. The same thing is in the second level of ืฉื›ืœ, called ืฉื›ืœ ืขื™ื•ื ื™. ืฉื›ืœ ืขื™ื•ื ื™ is not facts of ื’ืฉืžื™ื•ืช, but it's also a fact. Let's use an example, a simple, elementary example of ืฉื›ืœ ืขื™ื•ื ื™. There is a ืกื‘ืจื, a fact, a ืกื‘ืจื: ื”ืžื•ืฆื™ื ืžื—ื‘ื™ืจื• ืขืœื™ื• ื”ืจืื™ื”. That's not ื’ืฉืžื™ื•ืช, it's not tangible. See, the ืฉื›ืœ ืžืขืฉื™ is a ืฉื›ืœ of something tangible. There's a fact if you do this. This is all in the level in the world of ืฉื›ืœ. ื”ืžื•ืฆื™ื ืžื—ื‘ื™ืจื• ืขืœื™ื• ื”ืจืื™ื”. If there's a dispute between two people, who has the burden of proof? So the ืฉื›ืœ says the one that's trying to take it away. The one that has the money, the one that's the ืžื•ื—ื–ืง, doesn't have to prove that it's his. He has it in his hands. It's the best proof. Someone's trying to get it out of him, so the ืฉื›ืœ says, you want, bring ืขื“ื™ื, bring a ืจืื™ื”. So here is a ืกื‘ืจื. The ืกื‘ืจื has words. The words are ื”ืžื•ืฆื™ื ืžื—ื‘ื™ืจื• ืขืœื™ื• ื”ืจืื™ื”. But the words are not the ืกื‘ืจื. The ืกื‘ืจื is an abstract fact. The fact is in the world of ืฉื›ืœ that if there are two, it's a question of one is a ืžื•ื—ื–ืง and one is a ืžื•ืฆื™ื, the ืžื•ืฆื™ื has to bring the proof. Now, how can I in my mind take that ืกื‘ืจื into my mind? So I have to find the words: ื”ืžื•ืฆื™ื ืžื—ื‘ื™ืจื• ืขืœื™ื• ื”ืจืื™ื”. How can I tell somebody else this ืกื‘ืจื? I have to give them with words. So the words is only a ื›ืœื™ for the ืฉื›ืœ. The words doesn't make the ืฉื›ืœ. If nobody would find the proper words for this ืกื‘ืจื, the ืกื‘ืจื doesn't exist? If no one would even remember that ืกื‘ืจื, the ืกื‘ืจื doesn't exist? It exists. ืื™ื™, it's not tangible, but in the level of ืฉื›ืœ it is a fact. So ืฉื›ืœ, true ืฉื›ืœ is a fact. That's why it says in ื—ืกื™ื“ื•ืช, not to get too too carried away, it says in ื—ืกื™ื“ื•ืช that every human being in his ื ืคืฉ has what we call a ื›ื— ื”ืžืฉื›ื™ืœ. I'm not talking about ื›ื— ื”ืฉื›ืœ. Everyone, everyone has ืฉื›ืœ and you know, able to understand things. Everybody has a ื›ื— ื”ืžืฉื›ื™ืœ. What's the ื›ื— ื”ืžืฉื›ื™ืœ? The source of the ืฉื›ืœ. In the ื›ื— ื”ืžืฉื›ื™ืœ, it says in ื—ืกื™ื“ื•ืช, all ืกื‘ืจื•ืช in the world are there. It's a kind of box, I'm just kidding, a box, but it's which contains all the information that's there. When a person has a and then finally comes up with a ืกื‘ืจื, where did he get this ืกื‘ืจื from? He didn't have it before, and now all of a sudden, thin air comes, flies in a ืกื‘ืจื. We tell a person, \"You don't understand ืคืฉื˜ here, think. Think about it. Sit down, ื˜ืจืึทื›ื˜ ืึทืจืฒึทืŸ.\" So what's going to be as ื˜ืจืึทื›ื˜ ืึทืจืฒึทืŸ? I don't have it. if you tell the guy go look it up, the ืกืคืจ tells you, go ask somebody, that person will explain to you. What do you mean think? What will thinking help? How does thinking help? What is it that you think? ื˜ืจืึทื›ื˜, ื ื•. I don't know the ืกื‘ืจื, I don't understand it to be able to ื˜ืจืึทื›ื˜. The ืคืฉื˜ is like this. Every person in his ื ืคืฉ has the ability to understand every ืกื‘ืจื, or as it says a ืœืฉื•ืŸ, every single ืกื‘ืจื that's there in the world exists in the in the ื›ื— ื”ืžืฉื›ื™ืœ. The ื ืคืฉ of the person, and we're not even talking about ื ืฉืžื”, the life, every person who's alive, that life is the source of all his attributes, all his ื›ื•ื—ื•ืช. That life he has is the ืžืงื•ืจ of his ืกื‘ืจื, ืฉื›ืœ, of his ืžื“ื•ืช, of his hands moving, of his eyes seeing, is the ืžืงื•ืจ of everything. But the way it's in the ื ืคืฉ, it's not specific yet. When it comes out into the body, there's a certain part that uses for ืฉื›ืœ, certain part for ืžื“ื•ืช. In the ืฉื›ืœ itself, the way the source of ืฉื›ืœ is in the person, he has a ื›ื— that's the ืžืงื•ืจ of all ืกื‘ืจื•ืช. Any real ืกื‘ืจื that is there, any true ืกื‘ืจื is an existence in itself, without any people, it's there ื‘ืขืฆื. And the ื›ื— of the person is, the ื›ื— ื”ืžืฉื›ื™ืœ contains all the ืกื‘ืจื•ืช. It's a computer. Where do you think they got the idea of the computer, from the person's brain. But the computer is only what you will put in. You can put in all the information, and it'll make the connections. But you whatever you didn't put into the computer, that's not going to know. But the person's brain, the person's ื›ื— ื”ืžืฉื›ื™ืœ contains all possible ืกื‘ืจื•ืช that are there in the world. The only ืฉืืœื” is, where do crooked ืกื‘ืจื•ืช, ืงืจื•ืžืข ืกื‘ืจื•ืช come from? Where do stupid ืกื‘ืจื•ืช come from? I don't know, that's a good ืงืฉื™ื. But we're talking about normal ืกื‘ืจื•ืช, that you have a ืกื‘ืจื, and that's the ืคืฉื˜ when we tell a person, \"Think. You don't understand it, ื˜ืจืึทื›ื˜.\" What's going to happen when you think? You know what will happen when you think? You're digging into your ืฉื›ืœ deeper, deeper, and when you dig deeper and you get there, you will be able to come to have that ืกื‘ืจื, and if you dig in because it's there. ืืœื ืžืื™, you have to take it out. Just like when you have to dig for water, there's water underground, no matter what. There's always water there, you just got to dig. Sometimes, there 6 ft under is water, like in Miami, and sometimes you got to dig 150 ft till you get the water. I remember when they dug the ืชืฉืœื™ืš back of 770. The ืจื‘ื™ used to go to ืชืฉืœื™ืš in the Botanic Gardens, used to go a half hour, more than that, used to be a walk. Then they decided it's too hard for the ืจื‘ื™ to go, they're going to make a ืชืฉืœื™ืš in 770. But it says it should be or a river or a ืžืขื™ื™ืŸ. You have to get a ืžืขื™ื™ืŸ. So they hired a company to dig. So you expected they going to have to dig 50 ft, 60 ft, 70 ft underground, so they were ready for it. They dug, I remember it was days and weeks, they were digging and digging and digging and digging. 50 ft, 60 ft, 70 ft, 80 ft, 90 ft, there's no water. I don't know how far they went, 120, I remember, they were about to give up already. They dug more and more, and finally they got to water. Same thing with a person. When you think and trying to understand, you're digging into your ื›ื— ื”ืžืฉื›ื™ืœ. Now, the same here, sometimes a person has a very thick layer, and he has to dig a lot, he has to think very hard, and it's very hard for him to get to understand. And sometimes a person digs a little bit and gets it. When we say this person ื”ืึธื˜ ืึท ื’ื•ื˜ืข ืงืึธืคึผ, we all know some people have better heads than others. This guy takes 5 minutes to understand, this guy has to work an hour to understand the same ืกื‘ืจื. The difference is not in the ื›ื— ื”ืžืฉื›ื™ืœ, the ื›ื— ื”ืžืฉื›ื™ืœ everyone has the same. The difference is how much is there between the ื›ื— ื”ืžืฉื›ื™ืœ and the ืฉื›ืœ ื”ื’ืœื•ื™, how much is it? So, a person that has a good head means that there's not much, and you only dig a little bit and you get to the water right away, you get to the source, and if somebody has a ืฉื•ื•ืึทื›ืข head or what the ืคืฉื˜ is, there is a bigger, thicker layer, you got to dig further, and maybe he'll dig and dig and never get to it. Now, the truth is he will get, but maybe it will take him 25 years. Since he's not thinking about it for 25 years, he won't get to it. But ื‘ืขืฆื every person has this in his ื›ื— ื”ืžืฉื›ื™ืœ. And that's the ืคืฉื˜, why is it? How the ืคืฉื˜ that the ื›ื— ื”ืžืฉื›ื™ืœ is like like a box that has all the ืกื‘ืจื•ืช? All the ืกื‘ืจื•ืช are there ื‘ืขืฆื in the world, these are facts. in an abstract way, I'll give you a simple elementary ืžืฉืœ. 1 and 1 = 2. We cannot understand one and one equals two unless we have one paper and another paper. The ืกื‘ืจื one and one equals two has nothing to do with two papers, has nothing to do with two hats, has nothing to do with anything. It's a concept. It's an abstract concept that one and one equals two. It's a fact, not because one hat and another hat equals two hats, the hats. The concept of one and one equals two is an abstract concept. For us to understand it, we have to put it into words. So what I'm trying to say is that ืฉื›ืœ is a fact regardless of the words. Certainly we understand that by ืฉื›ืœ ืžืขืฉื™, because there really, what's the ืฉื›ืœ? The ืฉื›ืœ is how to make the car, and the car is a fact. You're understanding this fact, that's all it is. The fact is there whether you understand it or not. But ืฉื›ืœ ืขื™ื•ื ื™, some people don't know, wouldn't ื›ืืค that it's also a fact. How a fact? There's no ืžืฆื™ืื•ืช there. No, it's a fact in the level of ืฉื›ืœ. So the ืื•ืชื™ื•ืช, the words that come along with the ืฉื›ืœ, that we would call the ืžืงื‘ืœ. The ืฉื›ืœ is the ืžืฉืคื™ืข, if we're looking in the ืฉื›ืœ itself, the ืฉื›ืœ is the giver and the ืื•ืชื™ื•ืช is the ืžืงื‘ืœ.

The mekabel's added dimension, and why a rebbi's depth can take a talmid forty years to reach

So now let's try to see what it says here: ืขืœ ื“ืจืš ืžืฉืœ ืคื•ืŸ ื“ื™ ืื•ืชื™ื•ืช ืคื•ืŸ ื ื“ื‘ืจ ืฉื›ืœ, he gave a ืžืฉืœ, what he said before that by the ืžืฉืคื™ืข there is three, by the ืžืงื‘ืœ there is four. There is another dimension when he is ืžืงื‘ืœ, when he receives it, the dimension of the ืžืงื‘ืœ. So he says for instance, the ืื•ืชื™ื•ืช of a ืฉื›ืœ. Now the ืื•ืชื™ื•ืช, he says in parenthesis, is the ืžืงื‘ืœ. ื™ืขื“ืขืจ ืฉื›ืœ ื”ืื˜ ื–ื™ื™ื ืข ืื•ืชื™ื•ืช ืื™ืŸ ื•ื•ืขืœื›ืข ืขืจ ืื™ื– ืื ื’ืขื˜ืืŸ. Every ืฉื›ืœ has his words, his letters, his words in which it's put into. ืื‘ืขืจ ืื™ืŸ ื“ืขื ื“ื‘ืจ ืฉื›ืœ ืขืฆืžื•, but in the ืฉื›ืœ itself, in the ืกื‘ืจื itself, ื•ื•ื™ ืขืจ ืื™ื– ื ืืš ืื™ื™ื“ืขืจ ื“ืขืจ ืžืขื ื˜ืฉ ื‘ืื’ืจื™ื™ืคื˜ ืขืก ื‘ื›ืœื™ ืฉื›ืœื•, before the person grasps it in his ืฉื›ืœ, the ืฉื›ืœ the way it's ื‘ืขืฆื. And where is it? Where is it ื‘ืขืฆื? Where is it? That's within the person, ื›ื— ื”ืžืฉื›ื™ืœ. But why is it in ื›ื— ื”ืžืฉื›ื™ืœ? Where is ื‘ืขืฆื the ืกื‘ืจื? Yeah, in ืื•ื™ืจ ื”ืขื•ืœื. And more, you could say what does that mean? When you have, how do you call this, an email, where is it? And then you get onto it, where is it found? Or you have, ah? The cloud, ื•ื•ื™ ื“ืืก, someplace in ืื•ื™ืจ ื”ืขื•ืœื. Which even before that, when you have radio waves, where are the radio waves? You open the radio, you hear the radio. Where are the waves? Everywhere. So this is all a ื’ืฉืžื™ื•ืช'ื“ื™ืงืข reflection of the way ืกื‘ืจื, ืฉื›ืœ is. ืฉื›ืœ is all over. The ืกื‘ืจื that one and one equals two is not only when you have two papers. Here, all over. The ืฉื›ืœ before it comes into the person's ืฉื›ืœ, ื–ืขื ืขืŸ ื“ื™ ืื•ืชื™ื•ืช ื ื™ืฉื˜ ื ื™ื›ืจ. You don't feel any letters, any words. ืขืก ื”ืขืจืฉื˜ ื“ืขืจ ืชื•ื›ืŸ. In the world of ืฉื›ืœ you have the meaning of the ืฉื›ืœ, ื“ืขืจ ืื•ืจ ื”ืฉื›ืœ, he calls it the light of the ืฉื›ืœ. So you have the ื›ืœื™ ื”ืฉื›ืœ, the ื›ืœื™ื, which are the words, then you have the light, the ืฉื›ืœ itself. ื‘ืฉืขืช ื“ืขืจ ืฉื›ืœ ื•ื•ืขืจื˜ ืื•ื™ืคื’ืขื ื•ืžืขืŸ ืื™ืŸ ื“ื™ ื›ืœื™ ื”ืฉื’ื” ืฉืœ ื”ืื“ื, when the ืฉื›ืœ is taken, grasped by the ื›ืœื™ื of the person, ื•ื•ืขืŸ ื“ื™ ืื•ืชื™ื•ืช ื•ื•ืขืจืŸ ื ืชื’ืœื” ื•ื ื™ื›ืจ, then the ืื•ืชื™ื•ืช are ื ืชื’ืœื”. Till then you don't have any ืื•ืชื™ื•ืช, then they're ื ืชื’ืœื”. So it comes out like this, that you have something that happens by the ืžืงื‘ืœ. What he's trying to bring out in these brackets is that there is an additional thing that happens by the ืžืงื‘ืœ over the ืžืฉืคื™ืข. So he says by the ืžืฉืคื™ืข you have three ืžื“ืจื’ื•ืช, three stages. The ืžืงื‘ืœ is a new stage, so he wants to show where do we see the ืžืงื‘ืœ is a new stage. He says in ืฉื›ืœ itself. In ืฉื›ืœ itself you have the ืื•ืชื™ื•ืช of the ืฉื›ืœ, which is, the ืื•ืชื™ื•ืช are called the ืžืงื‘ืœ. What's a ืžืงื‘ืœ? A container, a ื›ืœื™ ืงื™ื‘ื•ืœ, a container. The ืื•ืชื™ื•ืช contain the ืฉื›ืœ. So before that we don't have that, it's not ื ื™ื›ืจ, and when you come to the say, the ืื•ืชื™ื•ืช, when you give it into words, you have another dimension into the ืฉื›ืœ. Now I just want to add, it's not ื ื•ื’ืข to the ืฉื™ื—ื” here, that when the ืฉื›ืœ comes into the ืื•ืชื™ื•ืช, it minimizes the ืื•ืจ ื”ืฉื›ืœ. Even ืœื’ื‘ื™ the way the ืฉื›ืœ is in the ืžืฉืคื™ืข, when you have a ืกื‘ืจื in your mind and you understand something good and you give it over to somebody else, there is no question about it that when you put it into words, it's ืžืฆืžืฆื the ืฉื›ืœ. You cannot put into the words the full-fledged ืื•ืจ ื”ืฉื›ืœ. You can't. Now it doesn't mean that the one that listens to the ืกื‘ืจื will not get the full-fledged ืกื‘ืจื. How could you get the full-fledged ืกื‘ืจื if it's not put in? Because if the ืžืงื‘ืœ has brains himself, when you give him the ืกื‘ืจื through the words that you used, which was ืžืฆืžืฆื, automatically, his brain starts working and takes out from what you told him more than what you put in. And you could get to your to your ืฉื›ืœ. If the ืžืงื‘ืœ and the ืžืฉืคื™ืข are ื‘ืขืจืš, if the ืžืงื‘ืœ and the ืžืฉืคื™ืข are ื‘ืื™ืŸ ืขืจื•ืš, then the ืžืงื‘ืœ will never understand it, because the ืžืฉืคื™ืข's ืฉื›ืœ, whatever he put in, he put in, but there's so much that's not put that you can't put in, and the ืžืงื‘ืœ himself can't work it out. See, if the ืžืงื‘ืœ is ื‘ืขืจืš to the ืžืฉืคื™ืข, so let's say you only put in 60% of the ืฉื›ืœ, ื”ืื•ืจ ื”ืฉื›ืœ, 40% is missing, so, but when the ืžืงื‘ืœ hears it, his brain starts working and he without even realizing, he develops in his mind from what you told him the whole ืกื‘ืจื. But if they're ื‘ืื™ืŸ ืขืจื•ืš, you can't develop it. That's why it says ืขื“ ืืจื‘ืขื™ืŸ ืฉื ื™ืŸ ืœื ืงืื™ ืื™ื ื™ืฉ ืื“ืขืชื™ื” ื“ืจื‘ื™ื”. If a ืจื‘ื™ teaches a ืชืœืžื™ื“, till 40 years, he will not understand the depth of what his ืจื‘ื™ taught him. When it comes 40 years, he's able to understand it. Why wouldn't he understand it before? We're talking about a ืจื‘ื™, it's ื‘ืื™ืŸ ืขืจื•ืš, because you can't put it in. After 40 years, when the ืชืœืžื™ื“ reaches a certain ืžื“ืจื’ื”, when ืืจื‘ืขื™ืŸ ืœื‘ื™ื ื”, whatever the ืคืฉื˜ there is, he's able to develop it and be able to reach that that ืกื‘ืจื. On one hand, because even though it's not there, but inside, in what you were ืžืฆืžืฆื, ื‘ื”ืขืœื it's there. Whichever the ื‘ื™ืื•ืจ is. But because it's a ืžืงื‘ืœ, the ืžืงื‘ืœ is always less than the ืžืฉืคื™ืข, that's for sure. A ืžืงื‘ืœ is less than the ืžืฉืคื™ืข. Now, it doesn't mean, again, that the ืžืงื‘ืœ can't reach higher than a ืžืฉืคื™ืข. ืืคื™ืœื• in ื’ืฉืžื™ื•ืช, you have a ืžืฉืคื™ืข, a ืžืฉืคื™ืข who has ืชืœืžื™ื“ื™ื and he the ืชืœืžื™ื“ื™ื are ืžืงื‘ืœื™ื from him, so usually, the ืžืงื‘ืœ is lower than the ืžืฉืคื™ืข, but does that mean that eventually, this ืชืœืžื™ื“ cannot become in a higher ืžื“ืจื’ื” than the ืžืฉืคื™ืข? Whether it's in ืขื‘ื•ื“ื” or in in ืฉื›ืœ, ื•ื“ืื™ he could. Why? Because he will take what he was told and develop it and since he has a better head than his ืžืฉืคื™ืข, ืืœืžืื™ he was younger. Think ืžืฉืคื™ืข, ืžืงื‘ืœ, ืžืฉืคื™ืข and a ืชืœืžื™ื“ means the ืžืฉืคื™ืข is is is ich vais vos. He just happened happened to be born a few years before the ืชืœืžื™ื“, just his luck or unlike, I don't know what it is, he was born before. That's all it is. So, he tells you and you don't have it yet, but when you reach that ืžื“ืจื’ื” and when you get, you could become much better than him. And you could take what he said and develop it even more. But the whole point of getting back here is that the ืจื‘ื™ is trying to use an example to this ื ืงื•ื“ื” that when you have a ืžืงื‘ืœ, the ืžืงื‘ืœ adds a adds a dimension. So, therefore, if the ืžืฉืคื™ืข has three, there's another ื ืงื•ื“ื” when it comes to the ืžืงื‘ืœ. That's why ืžืฆื”, which is the ื ืงื•ื“ื” of the ืื™ื™ื‘ื™ืฉื˜ืขืจ's ื—ืœืง, the ื ื•ืชืŸ, the ืื™ื™ื‘ื™ืฉื˜ืขืจ the giver, the way he took us out of ืžืฆืจื™ื without our involvement, that's three, cuz three is the ืžืฉืคื™ืข. But when we say the the ื™ื™ืŸ, which represents the other ืžื“ืจื’ื”, when we already got involved, so we're talking about the ืžืงื‘ืœ already, when it gets to the ืžืงื‘ืœ, there's another dimension, and that dimension is the fourth. That's why it's four. Now, here the ืจื‘ื™ says an interesting thing.

Three fathers, four mothers: applying mashpia and mekabel to the Avos and Imahos

Everything fits so perfectly, like I told you in the beginning, this we have, how many ืื‘ื•ืช? ื’' ืื‘ื•ืช ืื•ืŸ ื“' ืืžื”ื•ืช. Three fathers and four mothers. Now, you could say, \"Well, why is it?\" Just happens to be that there were three fathers, happens to be that three mothers, uh four mothers, a big deal. Everything is ืžื“ื•ื™ืง, everything has to fit exact. ื“ืขืจ ืชื•ืืจ ืื‘ ืื•ืŸ ืื ืื™ื– ืคืืจื‘ื•ื ื“ืŸ ืžื™ื˜ ื–ื™ื™ืขืจ ื”ืฉืคืขื”. When we say father and mother, we're not talking about the ืื‘ื•ืช in their ืžื“ืจื’ื”. When we talk about ืื‘ืจื”ื as ืื‘ืจื”ื, what's it got to do with him being a father? The word father means that you have his children. The ื’ืžืจื says at the beginning of ื‘ื‘ื ืงืžื, \"ืืจื‘ืขื” ืื‘ื•ืช ื ื–ื™ืงื™ืŸ,\" the ืžืฉื ื” says, so the ื’ืžืจื asks, \"ืื‘ื•ืช, ืžื›ืœืœ ื“ืื™ื›ื ืชื•ืœื“ื•ืช.\" You could only call someone a father if he has children. The whole ืžืฆื™ืื•ืช of a father is that he has children. A person that doesn't have children, ืจื—ืžื ื ืœื™ืฆืœืŸ, you can't call him a father. You could be 70 years old, it's not like you so you say a young person is a is is a person, and then when you get older, little kids call, \"A tatty.\" It's not the ื•ื•ืืจื˜, the ื•ื•ืืจื˜ is you have children. So, the whole ืžื•ืฉื’ of a father or a mother is the is in connection to their having children, which is being ืžืฉืคื™ืข. So, he says, \"ื”ื•ืœื“ืช ื‘ื ื™ื ื•ื‘ื ื•ืช.\" The ืขื ื™ืŸ of a father and mother is giving birth to children, sons, daughters, ืื•ืŸ ืคื•ืŸ ื“ื™ ื—ื™ืœื•ืงื™ื ืฆื•ื•ื™ืฉืŸ ื–ื™ื™ ืื™ืŸ ื“ืขืจ ื”ืฉืคืขื” ืื™ื– How, what's the difference in their ื”ืฉืคืขื”, in their contribution to having children? ืื™ืŸ ื˜ื™ืคืช ื”ืฉืคืขืช ื”ืื‘ ื›ืœื•ืœ ื‘ื”ืขืœื ื’ื“ื•ืœ. It starts off with the father, like it says in ืชื ื™ื ืคืจืง ื‘ืณ, but the whole child, the whole body of the child, the way it's included in the father's aspect, are all so concentrated and so, it's all in that one ื˜ื™ืคื” that comes from the father. ืื‘ืขืจ ื“ื™ ืื ืžื•ืฆื™ืื” ื–ื• ืœื™ื“ื™ ื’ื™ืœื•ื™ ื•ื”ื•ืœื™ื“ื” ืกื•ืฃ ื›ืœ ืกื•ืฃ, who develops it and eventually makes it into a complete child with hands and feet and all the parts of the body, that's the mother. From the father's perspective, from his ื—ืœืง, there is no real child. There's no real child ื‘ื’ืœื•ื™ with all the ืื‘ืจื™ื, even though it's there ื‘ื”ืขืœื. It's there ื‘ื”ืขืœื. What makes it ื‘ื’ืœื•ื™ is through the mother. But ื‘ื”ืขืœื it's there in the father. That's why the ื’ืžืจื says that ื–ืจืข ืœื‘ื˜ืœื” is murder. This is what the ื’ืžืจื says: ื–ืจืข ืœื‘ื˜ืœื”. If someone has ื–ืจืข ืœื‘ื˜ืœื”, it's murder, it's killing. Why? Because in the ื–ืจืข, there is the potential of a child. Not only potential of a child, it's ื˜ืืงืข there ื‘ื”ืขืœื, and if you, and if it comes in a way that will not make a child, that's killing. That's called murder, because it's there ื‘ื”ืขืœื. ืื™ื™, people ask, if so, what about people who can't have children naturally? Why is it not ื–ืจืข ืœื‘ื˜ืœื”? Or people who are older and it is after the age that they could have children, why is it not ื–ืจืข ืœื‘ื˜ืœื”? Why is it not called killing? So the ืจื‘ื™ in a ืฉื™ื—ื” brings from the, from the ืืจื™ื–ืดืœ that there is always considered having a child ื‘ืจื•ื—ื ื™ื•ืช. There is an ืขื ื™ืŸ of children ื‘ืจื•ื—ื ื™ื•ืช. But if it's ื–ืจืข ืœื‘ื˜ืœื”, it's murder. Why? Because in the ื˜ื™ืคื” of the ืื‘ is included a whole body. And ืืžืืœ it was very hard to understand. How could you say First of all, I want to say that ืœืื• ื“ื•ืงื that medically they agree with it, but we don't care. Medically, they say it has nothing to do, it's not included in the ื˜ื™ืคื” of the ืื‘, it's not whatever, but that's not ื ื•ื’ืข. But in ื—ืกื™ื“ื•ืช it says that it's included in the ื˜ื™ืคื” of the ืื‘. So we do say it's, it's, it's there. But ืืžืืœ they wondered, how is it possible to say that in such a small thing includes a whole body? The truth is, it's not only included the body, it's, it's included a thousand, a thousand pieces of ื–ืจืข is there, and only one of a thousand or 10,000 turns into a child when it does, so it's even smaller. So how could you say it includes the whole body? Well, nowadays it's not a problem to understand. Now Oh, no, DNA shows what it is. Now, when we say from one cell, you could develop a whole body. You could take one cell, okay, provided that they didn't develop it yet ื‘ื’ืฉืžื™ื•ืช, ื‘ืคื•ืขืœ, to clone a person, but they did do it with a sheep. It wasn't developed good, that's why the sheep didn't, got sick and everything, but there is, the concept is there, that you could take one cell of a sheep and do things to it, and that one cell turned into a whole sheep. One cell. I think that's what the ืžื“ืจืฉ says, to show that only the ืื™ื™ื‘ืขืจืฉื˜ืขืจ could create and no person could create, so it says a ืœืฉื•ืŸ: ืืคื™ืœื• ื›ืœ ืžืœื›ื™ ืžื–ืจื— ื•ืžืขืจื‘, all the kings in the world will get together, they won't be able to create ืืคื™ืœื• ื›ื ืฃ ืื—ื“, even one wing. What's what's ื›ื ืฃ ืื—ื“? Because I think what it means is whatever they could do is take the cell and develop it, but to create that first cell, that no one could. But there is a concept of a cell. What? That's a different child, I don't know that. But there is a ืขื ื™ืŸ that in every cell is included That's why you could have, that's what the whole ืฉืืœื” of that they have this whole discussion of of of of, ื ื•, stem cell research, and what they could do is they could take a cell of a person, in theory, I know if they developed it 100% or not, and make out of that cell, which is microscopic, make out of that cell into an organ of this person. A person needs a transplant, a heart transplant, you've got to find a match. Imagine if that from the person himself, that's the best match, they could take one cell and from that one cell make an organ, make a heart, make a kidney, make this, and that's the whole discussion, can should they do it or should they not do it. But the ื•ื•ืืจื˜ is you could have in one little thing. So getting back here, so in the ื˜ื™ืคื” of the father is the whole body, but where is it developed? It's developed in the mother. So the father is a ืžืฉืคื™ืข, but it's not yet ื ืงืœื˜, by the mother is the ืžืงื‘ืœ. What did we say is the connection between 3 and 4 to the ืื‘ื•ืช? To the, to the, three is the ืžืฉืคื™ืข, the ื ื•ืชืŸ, four is the ืžืงื‘ืœ. Since the ืื‘ื•ืช, the fathers are the ืžืฉืคื™ืข, that's why there are three. The ืืžื”ื•ืช are the ืžืงื‘ืœ, the mothers, that's the is ืžืงื‘ืœ, that's why there are four. So let's finish inside. ื“ืขืจืคืืจ ื–ืขื ืขืŸ ื“ื ื’ื™ืžืœ ืื‘ื•ืช, three ืื‘ื•ืช, ื•ื•ื™ื™ืœ ื“ื™ ื”ืฉืคืขื” ื•ื•ื™ ื–ื™ ืื™ื– ืžืฆื“ and in the ืžืฉืคื™ืข, ืื‘ื•ืช, the way the ื”ืฉืคืขื” is in the father, ืื™ื– ืื•ื™ืกื’ืขืฉื˜ืขืœื˜ ืื™ืŸ ื“ืจื™ื™ ื‘ื—ื™ื ื•ืช, and like we said by the ืžืฉืคื™ืข there's three. ืžื” ืฉืื™ืŸ ื›ืŸ the ืืžื”ื•ืช, the mothers, which is ื‘ื—ื™ื ืช ืžืงื‘ืœ, ื–ืขื ืขืŸ ื–ื™ื™ ืื™ืŸ ืžืกืคืจ ื“ืœืช, that's why there's four. So everything fits together here, that we have the three ืžืฆื”, four wine, three fathers, four mothers, and all fits the ืขื ื™ืŸ of ืžืฉืคื™ืข ืžืงื‘ืœ.
