The State of Israel in Light of Halachah

The Rebbe's middle path between 'this is already geulah' and 'the State is forbidden': a halachic look at why 1948 changed nothing in status, yet changed nothing that permits giving it back either.

Part of Important Issues · 1:01:31

Lays out the two extremes on the State of Israel โ€” religious Zionists who call it atchalta d'geulah and Satmar/Neturei Karta who call it a catastrophe forbidden by the three oaths โ€” and stakes out the Rebbe's middle position: Hashem showed rachmanus by giving a refuge after the Holocaust, and there was a missed opportunity to build a Torah government that could have hastened Mashiach, but because Eretz Yisrael was always halachically ours even in galus, 1948 changed nothing in its status and is not the beginning of geulah. Establishes that only the Rambam, as the sole posek on Hilchos Melachim, can define the exact order that makes geulah real โ€” a king from Beis Dovid who builds the Beis HaMikdash before any kibbutz galuyos โ€” and dismantles the Neturei Karta reading of the three shevuos, including the questions of voting and taking government funds. Closes with the land's ongoing kedusha and the Shechinah resting at the Kosel, the Rebbe's response to the claim that Hashem doesn't perform miracles through resha'im (the Entebbe and Yom Kippur War miracles), and a Q&A on whether a Torah-run democracy could have triggered Mashiach and why Lubavitch does not say 'reishit tzemichat geulateinu.'

Two Extremes on the State of Israel, and the Rebbe's Middle Path

The subject tonight is going to be a continuation to last week's subject, not the same detailed subject, but but generally in the same topic. The topic we spoke about last week was about giving back territories according to ื”ืœื›ื”, according to ืชื•ืจื”. I said this week we will discuss not specifically giving back territories, but concerning the status of the State of Israel. People say that they like to hear controversial subjects, so that's one of the reasons I chose this subject. And as you understand, I will be giving over the opinions, the ื”ืฉืงืคื” of the ืจื‘ื™, the ื”ืฉืงืคื” of ืœื™ื•ื‘ืื•ื•ื™ื˜ืฉ, which is the ื”ืฉืงืคื”, the right ื”ืฉืงืคื”, the ื”ืฉืงืคื” of ืชื•ืจื” concerning what is our approach, our outlook concerning ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ. But not concerning ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ given by ื”ืฉื and there's nothing to talk about, but concerning the status of the way ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ is now. And anybody who has questions or objections to certain things will be able to discuss this after we have finished, and then we'll have questions and answers. As we all know, there are two opposite extremes concerning the approach of what's the status of ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ or we'll refer to it actually as the State, the State of Israel as it is now. On one hand, we have those people who claim that the fact that we have ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ in our hands now is considered an ืืชื—ืœืชื ื“ื’ืื•ืœื”. It's the beginning of the ื’ืื•ืœื”, the beginning of the redemption. We know that for thousands of years we are waiting for the ื’ืื•ืœื”, we're waiting for the redemption, waiting for ืžืฉื™ื—, and this is already the beginning, ืืชื—ืœืชื ื“ื’ืื•ืœื”. It's the beginning of the ื’ืื•ืœื”. We already have ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ in our hands. When ืžืฉื™ื— will come, when the ื’ืื•ืœื” will come, that means we will get ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ back, cuz basically what does the ื’ืœื•ืช mean? ื’ืœื•ืช means we were chased out of our land, and strangers took over the land, and ื’ืื•ืœื” means that we will come back to our land. So now that we have ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ back in Jewish hands, so some say this is ืืชื—ืœืชื ื“ื’ืื•ืœื”, this is the beginning of the ื’ืื•ืœื”. So much so that some people say ื”ืœืœ on ื™ื•ื ื”ืขืฆืžืื•ืช, the day that they signed the declaration of independence, claiming that this is a special ื™ื•ื ื˜ื•ื‘ and this is the beginning of the ื’ืื•ืœื”. Some people say ื”ืœืœ with a ื‘ืจื›ื”, some people say ื”ืœืœ without a ื‘ืจื›ื”. That's one extreme. The other extreme is the view of ื ื˜ื•ืจื™ ืงืจืชื, ืกืื˜ืžืืจ, that having ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ in Jewish hands is a disaster. It's the biggest tragedy that ever happened to ื›ืœืœ ื™ืฉืจืืœ, and they claim that ืžืฉื™ื— cannot come as long as ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ is in hands of the Jews, and they claim that ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ is not allowed to be in the hands of the Jews till ืžืฉื™ื— will come. And therefore they are for giving back territories, therefore everything It's all forbidden. The government in ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ is against the ื”ืฉืงืคื” of ืชื•ืจื”. Not talking about the specific laws that the government makes which is against the ืชื•ืจื”, which everyone agrees to, but the general the ืขืฆื, the essential existence of a government in ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ they claim is against the ืชื•ืจื”, and we're not allowed to have it. So here we have two extremes. There is another opinion, which doesn't even count in our discussion, because this is a ืชื•ืจื” discussion, that is those people who ื‘ื›ืœืœ aren't interested in the ื’ืื•ืœื” and aren't interested in ืžืฉื™ื—, the many, many non-religious Jews who they To them, the State of Israel is the most important thing, but not with any connection to the ื’ืื•ืœื”, cuz they Some of them maybe don't even believe in ืžืฉื™ื—, they don't even believe in the ื’ืื•ืœื”, they don't care, and they they don't say ื”ืœืœ, they To them, it's nothing. It's just something special that we Jews have a country, have a land. And they look at it as ื›ื›ืœ ื”ื’ื•ื™ื ื‘ื™ืช ื™ืฉืจืืœ, that the ื™ื™ื“ืŸ have to be like all other nations in the world and we have to have our own homeland, but that's it, there's nothing to do with any religious matter. They say this is probably a true story, but they say that they once asked one of the people from the government asked the ืคื•ื ื™ื‘ื–'ืขืจ ืจื‘ years, years ago, ืจื‘ ื›ื”ื ืžืŸ. He received a lot of money from the government, and they once complained to him that they how come he doesn't celebrate ื™ื•ื ื”ืขืฆืžืื•ืช? So he said, \"You know what I do? You want me to be a greater patriot than ื‘ืŸ ื’ื•ืจื™ื•ืŸ himself? ื‘ืŸ ื’ื•ืจื™ื•ืŸ doesn't say ื”ืœืœ on ื™ื•ื ื”ืขืฆืžืื•ืช either. I don't either.\" Because to him this whole idea of ื’ืื•ืœื” and and ื”ืœืœ and these things don't make a difference. So we're not dealing with that because that has that's out of the ืชื•ืจื” the framework of ืชื•ืจื”. That is just people who don't believe in the ืชื•ืจื” and therefore they don't care about ื’ืื•ืœื”. Who are the ones that came up with saying ืืชื—ืœืชื ื“ื’ืื•ืœื”, that ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ, the State of Israel is the beginning people who are religious Jews, and they call themselves religious Zionists, and therefore they they're religious, and they believe in ืžืฉื™ื—, and they believe in the ืชื•ืจื”, and they believe in the ื’ืื•ืœื”, and they claim that this is an ืืชื—ืœืชื ื“ื’ืื•ืœื”, this is the beginning of the ื’ืื•ืœื”. And like I said, there is the other extreme, those people who claim that this is the greatest disaster and we're not allowed to have this, etc., etc. Now, what is the ืจื‘ื™'s ื”ืฉืงืคื” on this whole matter? Just like we know that ื‘ื›ืœืœ in ืชื•ืจื”, the middle is always the right path. We have the ืจืžื‘\"ื who says that the ืฉื‘ื™ืœ ื”ื–ื”ื‘, the golden path, is the middle path. Not always is it true, not always can we take the middle path. Sometimes there are extreme things in ืชื•ืจื”. But in this case, it happens to be that when we understand the ืจื‘ื™'s ื”ืฉืงืคื”, many people will be surprised. And when I say many people, it'll be from both sides. I could tell you that the ืกืื˜ืžืืจ side and the ื ื˜ื•ืจื™ ืงืจืชื side will be very surprised to hear the ืจื‘ื™'s ื”ืฉืงืคื”, because they will because they claim that ืœื™ื•ื‘ืื•ื•ื™ื˜ืฉ are Zionists, and therefore the State of Israel, etc., etc. They'll be pleasantly surprised to their side to hear that it's the way it's not so ืคืฉื•ื˜. And the same thing, people from the other side will also be surprised, because other people say that ืœื™ื•ื‘ืื•ื•ื™ื˜ืฉ is, you know, against Zionism, and it's against the State of Israel, and it's against that, and it's against this and the other kinds, because the ืจื‘ื™'s ืฉื™ื˜ื” was actually a ืฉื™ื˜ื” in the middle. And let me explain in detail what the ืจื‘ื™'s ืฉื™ื˜ื” is and what it's based on.

Why the State Was a Missed Opportunity to Bring Mashiach, and Why Eretz Yisrael Was Always Ours in Halacha Even in Galus

The ืจื‘ื™ said like this: After the war, after the Holocaust, ื”ืฉื had great ืจื—ืžื ื•ืช, great pity, on ื›ืœืœ ื™ืฉืจืืœ, and He found them a place of refuge. There were so many people, so many refugees who needed a place to be, and needed a Jewish place, so ื”ืฉื made it that the ื™ื™ื“ืŸ should find, should have, a homeland, a place where they could live peacefully, could live as Jews, without having the trouble of the ื’ื•ื™ื and having all kinds of other ืฆืจื•ืช that they had in other countries, in other, especially in the time of the Holocaust. So the ืื™ื™ื‘ืขืจืฉื˜ืขืจ had ืจื—ืžื ื•ืช on ื›ืœืœ ื™ืฉืจืืœ, and He gave them the ื‘ืขืœื‘ืื˜ื™ืฉืงื™ื™ื˜, He gave them the control over ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ. The control that He gave them over ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ is a control so they should be able to have a place where they should be able to exist properly. But in no way is this a beginning of the ื’ืื•ืœื”. And we'll see in a moment why. It's not in any way a beginning of the ื’ืื•ืœื”. He did say that at that time, there was an opportunity for ื™ื™ื“ืŸ to bring ืžืฉื™ื—. Because if the ื™ื™ื“ืŸ would have utilized properly their entering into ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ, and they would utilize properly the fact that they are able to live like ื™ื™ื“ืŸ, come to a place, have their own place with their own control, with their own government, and utilize it in the proper way, that was an ืขืช ืจืฆื•ืŸ, a time that ืžืฉื™ื— could have come. But that wasn't the only time. There were times before when ื™ื™ื“ืŸ had in different countries, had also their own government, more or less. There was a time when they had the ื•ืขื“ ืืจื‘ืข ืืจืฆื•ืช and that was in a few different countries in Europe, and the ื™ื™ื“ืŸ were given the right by the government of the country to have run it like almost like their own government. And also then, had the ื™ื™ื“ืŸ utilized that time, and the ืžืฉื™ื— could have come. And here too, had they utilized the time of being, having their own country, and having their own place, this could have brought ืžืฉื™ื—. Unfortunately, the times before it didn't come about, and this time, ืื•ื“ืื™ it didn't come about. Because as soon as it started, instead of making the government run the country ืขืœ ืคื™ ืชื•ืจื”, what they did was they made it into a secular country, and automatically, this lost the they lost later on. Right in the beginning, even when they signed the Declaration of Independence, there was a whole fight of whether ื‘ื›ืœืœ to mention ื”ืฉื's name. Most of them said, \"Let's forget about God, He doesn't belong here.\" They finally fought for it and fought for it, and they mentioned it by hint. They hinted to ื”ืฉื, ื‘ืขื–ืจืช ืฆื•ืจ ื™ืฉืจืืœ. They wouldn't even write ื”ืฉื, or ืง-ืœ. ื‘ืขื–ืจืช ืฆื•ืจ ื™ืฉืจืืœ, with the help of ืฆื•ืจ ื™ืฉืจืืœ. What's ืฆื•ืจ ื™ืฉืจืืœ? It is a ื›ื™ื ื•ื™, it is a nickname to ื”ืฉื. But the reason they wrote it that way so it shouldn't be clear that it's ื”ืฉื. So right from the beginning, it went on the wrong track as far as ืื™ื“ื™ืฉืงื™ื™ื˜ is concerned. But that doesn't take away from the fact that it is our land, and I'll explain it later more in detail, and we have a place where we could live peacefully. Now, why do we say it's not the ื’ืื•ืœื”? If we know that ื’ืœื•ืช means that the ื™ื™ื“ืŸ were chased out of their land, and now when we have our land back, And automatically, this sounds like a ื’ืื•ืœื”, or at least it's the ืืชื—ืœืชื ื“ื’ืื•ืœื”, the beginning of the ื’ืื•ืœื”. But one thing we know that in order for something to change, something that was caused by certain things, in order for the effect to change, you have to have the cause to change. We know clearly the reason for the ื’ืœื•ืช we say in ื“ืื•ื•ืขื ืขืŸ is ืžืคื ื™ ื—ื˜ืื™ื ื• ื’ืœื™ื ื• ืžืืจืฆื ื•. Because of our sins, we were chased out of our land, and in order to change that, we have to change the cause. We have to change ืžืคื ื™ ื—ื˜ืื™ื ื•, and as long as it is not in a form of ืชืฉื•ื‘ื”, as long as the ื—ื˜ืื™ื ื•, the sins still exist, then this cannot be a change in the ื’ืœื™ื ื• ืžืืจืฆื ื•. And therefore, even people who live in ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ are also living in ื’ืœื•ืช. Because ื’ืœื•ืช is not only a physical thing, whether we live in this part of the world or we live in another part of the world. There were many ื™ื™ื“ืŸ who lived in different countries and lived peacefully, and had were very rich, and have control over many things, and they were still in ื’ืœื•ืช. So it's not the same thing people in ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ. You could live in ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ and be in ื’ืœื•ืช. ื’ืœื•ืช is a level, a status. So you could be in the land of ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ, and at the same time, you are still in ื’ืœื•ืช. The country is called the land of our forefathers, of ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ, but and outside, some people call it the ื’ื•ืœื”. This is called ืืจืฅ and that's the ื’ื•ืœื”, which is the place of ื’ืœื•ืช. But ื’ืœื•ืช is not measured by the country. It's measured by the level, and if the ืžืคื ื™ ื—ื˜ืื™ื ื• would change, then you could say it's the beginning of the ื’ืื•ืœื”. But as long as that didn't change at all, as a matter of fact, before the Holocaust, there was much more ืคืจื•ืžืข ื™ื™ื“ืŸ, there was much less ืžืคื ื™ ื—ื˜ืื™ื ื•, and certainly there was no ื’ืื•ืœื” then. So the fact that we have ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ is just a place that ื”ืฉื gave us that helped many ื™ื™ื“ืŸ. It's a ืžืงื•ื ืคืœื™ื˜ื”, a place of refuge for many many ื™ื™ื“ืŸ, hundreds of ื™ื™ื“ืŸ, thousands, millions of ื™ื™ื“ืŸ, and the fact that it's ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ helps out. ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ has a ืงื“ื•ืฉื”, and because of the ืงื“ื•ืฉื”, it helps the ื™ื™ื“ืŸ who want to live the way you're supposed to, it helps them to live more. So ื”ืฉื did them a favor, not only by giving them a place where they could live, a place of refuge, but he gave it to them in ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ. He did them a bigger favor, it should be in ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ. So there's a lot of greatness here, but not as far as the ื’ืื•ืœื”. In other words, as long as we don't have the fulfillment of what it says in ื”ืœื›ื” is the ืขื ื™ืŸ of ื’ืื•ืœื” in ื”ืœื›ื”, and I will explain why I'm stressing that, then we know that this is not ื’ืื•ืœื”. It's a lot of great, good things, but it's not ื’ืื•ืœื”. In order to change from what happened before, let's say before 1948 or to say before the Balfour Declaration, what changed from before to after did not make a change in the degrees of ื’ืœื•ืช. It made a change in, we would call it ื’ืื•ืœื” ืคืจื˜ื™ืช. There is, in fact, an expression ื’ืื•ืœื” which means when a person is redeemed from his ืฆืจื•ืช, a ืขื ื™ืŸ of ื’ืื•ืœื”, but that's not the ื’ืื•ืœื” that we're talking about here, ื’ืื•ืœืช ื›ืœืœ ื™ืฉืจืืœ. So the change did not place, not take place. The fact that we have ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ in our hands, let me explain it, the fact that we have ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ in our hands that we control it, that, in truth, made no change whatsoever. Now I'll explain why. ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ is ours the whole time. ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ is ours from the beginning, from when ื”ืฉื promised ืื‘ืจื”ื ืื‘ื™ื ื• by the ื‘ืจื™ืช ื‘ื™ืŸ ื”ื‘ืชืจื™ื he will give us ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ. It says in the ืžื“ืจืฉ that ื”ืฉื chose the ื™ื™ื“ืŸ as the chosen nation, ื”ืฉื chose ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ as the chosen land, and he decided, let me give the chosen land to the chosen people. And he gave ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ to ืื‘ืจื”ื ืื‘ื™ื ื•. Not only did he promise him he will give him ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ, he actually gave it to him. The ืคืกื•ืง says, ืœื–ืจืขืš ื ืชืชื™ ืืช ื”ืืจืฅ ื”ื–ืืช. To your children I gave this land. One place it says ืืชืŸ, I will give, but there is a ืคืกื•ืง which is I gave. And it's not just a ืคืกื•ืง in ื—ื•ืžืฉ, it's a ื”ืœื›ื”. In ื”ืœื›ื”, we find that ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ, when the ื™ื™ื“ืŸ entered ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ, it was already theirs from before. In many ื”ืœื›ื•ืช, just to use an example of one ื”ืœื›ื”, it says that a firstborn takes a double portion as a ื™ืจื•ืฉื”, as an inheritance, but only from things which are already available, not things that will come in later. And ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ, the ื’ืžืจื says ืžื•ื—ื–ืงืช ื”ื™ื, that was given from before. When the ื™ื™ื“ืŸ entered ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ, it was theirs from before. So the ืื™ื™ื‘ืขืจืฉื˜ืขืจ, ื”ืฉื gave ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ to ืื‘ืจื”ื ืื‘ื™ื ื•. Then it became more revealed when ื™ื”ื•ืฉืข conquered ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ. From the moment ื™ื”ื•ืฉืข conquered ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ, ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ is ours, no matter who who seems to take control of ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ. It doesn't change it didn't change. Even while we're in ื’ืœื•ืช, we say ืžืคื ื™ ื—ื˜ืื™ื ื• ื’ืœื™ื ื• ืžืืจืฆื ื•, It's still our land. It's not like other countries when you have one nation conquered the land from the other nation, and what happened? It changed ownership. In ื”ืœื›ื”, there is a concept called ื›ื™ื‘ื•ืฉ. When you conquer a country, that conquering actually changes ownership in ื”ืœื›ื”. If a ืžืœืš, a king, conquers a land, ืขืœ ืคื™ ื”ืœื›ื” it belongs to his. Certainly, that's the way the world behaves, that one king conquered a land from another king. But by ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ, it's not like that. Physically, it was like that. It was by the ืื™ื“ืŸ for a certain amount of years, then ื ื‘ื•ื›ื“ื ืืฆืจ took it away from them, and the ืื™ื“ืŸ came back, and the Romans. But that's all superficially. We're talking about the truth of ืชื•ืจื”. In ืชื•ืจื”, even though they took it away, it still remained ours. That's the ืคืฉื˜ in ืจืฉ\"ื™, an interesting ืจืฉ\"ื™. ืจืฉ\"ื™ in the beginning of ื—ื•ืžืฉ says that the ื’ื•ื™ื will come to complain to the ืื™ื“ืŸ that you conquered the land of the seven nations, and you took it away from the ื’ื•ื™ื, ืœืกื˜ื™ื ืืชื, you're robbers. So the question that's asked: the ื’ื•ื™ื are the ones to complain to us that we're robbers because we conquered a country? Every single nation did that! Why are they complaining to us? We're the only ones who did it? As a matter of fact, in our case, it's the best, because originally ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ, it says, fell in the part of ืฉื. When ื ื— divided the world to his children, ืฉื, ื—ื, and ื™ืคืช, the part of ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ belonged to ืฉื. When the ื›ื ืขื ื™ื conquered it, the ื›ื ืขื ื™ื come from ื—ื, so they took it away. So when the ืื™ื“ืŸ, who come from ืฉื, conquered it back, we took it back as rightful owners. Why are they complaining? And ื‘ื›ืœืœ, how could they complain when we know there is such a thing as ื›ื™ื‘ื•ืฉ, and the ื’ื•ื™ื all behave that way, and to us they have ื˜ืขื ื•ืช? The ืคืฉื˜ is like this: when by the ื’ื•ื™ื a country, a ืžืœืš, a king conquered a country, he actually took it away from the first one, and he had a right to it. That's the way it was. By ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ, the moment we took it, no one could take it away from us. Even if a ื’ื•ื™ will take it away, it still remains ours essentially. So like this, every nation potentially potentially has an ownership over every country in the world. We, by conquering ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ, took away any potential right that any nation in the world might have over ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ. That's why they say ืœืกื˜ื™ื ืืชื, you're robbers. We can't do such a thing! We can't You took it away, and that's it, it's not the ื’ื•ื™ื's anymore. And no ื’ื•ื™ in the world could take away ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ from the ืื™ื“ืŸ. Now physically they took it away, but that's only superficially. But ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ is ours. Just like from ืื‘ืจื”ื ืื‘ื™ื ื•'s time, when it wasn't ours physically, ื”ืฉื said ื ืชืชื™, I gave it, and it's yours, and ืขืœ ืคื™ ื”ืœื›ื” it was his. And therefore, when it came to the ืžืขืจืช ื”ืžื›ืคืœื”, to buy the ืžืขืจืช ื”ืžื›ืคืœื”, he said to to the people there, to the ื‘ื ื™ ื—ืช, I'm ready to buy it, but if you won't sell it to me, I'll take it anyways, because it's mine. ื’ืจ ื•ืชื•ืฉื‘ ืื ื›ื™ ืขืžื›ื. I physically didn't own it. He did own it, but it wasn't shown. So after ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ was taken away by the ื’ื•ื™ื, it is still ours. We just not are in it. We didn't have control over it, but that's a superficial thing. That's a ื—ื™ืฆื•ื ื™ื•ืช'ื“ื™ืงืข thing. And therefore, when ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ came back to our hands, there was no major change in the halachic standard of status of ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ. There was a physical change, because now we can control it, we can do what we want, and we could keep the ืžืฆื•ืช of ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ, ืื™ื“ืŸ could live there, that's fine. But concerning the concept of ื’ืื•ืœื”, which is a change in the status of ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ, that didn't start. That didn't change, because ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ belonged to the ืื™ื“ืŸ throughout all of history, always, and still does. So by having some people sign a Declaration of Independence, and then having it, taking it, getting it physically, that didn't change the ื”ืœื›ื”'ื“ื™ืง ืชื•ืจื” standard of ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ, and ืžืžื™ืœื is not in any way a step to the ื’ืื•ืœื”, it's not ืืชื—ืœืชื ื“ื’ืื•ืœื”.

Why Only the Rambam's Halacha, Not Aggada, Defines What Geulah Is

And the truth is like this: whenever we come to decide any status or any anything in the world that we want to decide, we have to look into ื”ืœื›ื”. What does the ื”ืœื›ื” say? When we want to know what is the status of ื’ืื•ืœื”, when is there a ื’ืื•ืœื”, or when is there ืืชื—ืœืชื ื“ื’ืื•ืœื”, the only way to decide is ื”ืœื›ื”, in ื”ืœื›ื”. And I'm stressing ื”ืœื›ื”: we can't decide through a ืžื“ืจืฉ, we can't decide through a ื’ืžืจื, we can only decide through ื”ืœื›ื”. No one is allowed to ืคืกืง'ืŸ a ื“ื™ืŸ from the ื’ืžืจื, even though all the ื“ื™ื ื™ื come from the ื’ืžืจื, but there are ืคื•ืกืงื™ื who ืคืกืง'ืŸ, we have to ืคืกืง'ืŸ from the ืฉื•ืœื—ืŸ ืขืจื•ืš. And if somebody is going to say, I disregard a ืฉื•ืœื—ืŸ ืขืจื•ืš, I'll go straight to the ื’ืžืจื. Where did the ืฉื•ืœื—ืŸ ืขืจื•ืš take it from? From the ื’ืžืจื! I'll go straight to the ื’ืžืจื. This person, his ืคืกืง ื“ื™ืŸ is worthless. Similar to what the ื’ืžืจื says, a very strange statement: ื”ืชื ืื™ื ืžื‘ืœื™ ืขื•ืœื. The ืชื ืื™ื, those that learn ืžืฉื ื™ื•ืช, destroy the world. What's wrong with learning ืžืฉื ื™ื•ืช. So ืจืฉืดื™ says, those that ืคืกืงืŸ a ื“ื™ืŸ from the ืžืฉื ื”. You open a ืžืฉื ื”, ืžืฉื ื™ื•ืช, and you ืคืกืงืŸ the ื“ื™ืŸ. Because then came the ื’ืžืจื on the ืžืฉื ื™ื•ืช, and explained the ืžืฉื ื™ื•ืช, and you can't ืคืกืงืŸ from a ืžืฉื ื”. In the time of the ื’ืžืจื, they weren't taught to ืคืกืงืŸ from a ืžืฉื ื”. The ื’ืžืจื says that the ones that ืคืกืงืŸ from a ืžืฉื ื” are ืžื‘ืœื™ ืขื•ืœื. Same thing with us, we can't even ืคืกืงืŸ from the ื’ืžืจื now. We have to ืคืกืงืŸ from ื”ืœื›ื”. Now, if other things we could find a ืคืกืง ื“ื™ืŸ in ื”ืœื›ื”, certainly when we're talking about such a major, major issue as what ื’ืื•ืœื” is, and what ืืชื—ืœืชื ื“ื’ืื•ืœื” is, we certainly have to ืคืกืงืŸ from ื”ืœื›ื”. And we can't bring in ืžื“ืจืฉื™ื or ื’ืžืจื•ืช or things like that. Now, when it comes to ื”ืœื›ื” and the ื“ื™ืŸ of ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ, or what is ื’ืื•ืœื”, there is only one ืคื•ืกืง. And since he's the only ืคื•ืกืง in ื”ืœื›ื” in the ื“ื™ื ื™ื of ื’ืื•ืœื”, we have to follow what he says, and he is the ืคื•ืกืง, and nothing could change. And that is the ืจืžื‘ืดื. Now, other things that we have other ืคื•ืกืงื™ื that came later, so now we can't ืคืกืงืŸ from the ืจืžื‘ืดื either. We can't ืคืกืงืŸ ื”ืœื›ื•ืช ืฉื‘ืช from the ืจืžื‘ืดื because we have to have what other ืคื•ืกืงื™ื said. But in this thing, in the ื”ืœื›ื•ืช ืžืฉื™ื— or ื”ืœื›ื•ืช ื’ืื•ืœื”, there are no other ืคื•ืกืงื™ื. So the ืจืžื‘ืดื is the ืคื•ืกืง. And not only that, whenever the ืจืžื‘ืดื ืคืกืงืŸ something, that's a ื›ืœืœ in ื”ืœื›ื”, whenever the ืจืžื‘ืดื ืคืกืงืŸ something, and the commentaries don't argue, that is a proof that they agree. Now, when we talk about the commentaries of the ืจืžื‘ืดื, we're talking about the ืจืื‘ืดื“, who usually is ืžืฉื™ื’, has many, many disagreements with the ืจืžื‘ืดื. We're talking about the ื›ืกืฃ ืžืฉื ื”, who is the ื‘ื™ืช ื™ื•ืกืฃ, the ืฉื•ืœื—ืŸ ืขืจื•ืš, the one that wrote the ืฉื•ืœื—ืŸ ืขืจื•ืš. It means the ืžื’ื™ื“ ืžืฉื ื”, it means the ืœื—ื ืžืฉื ื”. I mean, we're talking about all these great ืคื•ืกืงื™ื that obviously agree with the ืจืžื‘ืดื. And the ืจืžื‘ืดื in ื”ืœื›ื•ืช ืžืœื›ื™ื, the last two ืคืจืงื™ื of ื”ืœื›ื•ืช ืžืœื›ื™ื, which he also called the way it's printed in certain prints ื”ืœื›ื•ืช ืžืฉื™ื—, the ืจืžื‘ืดื writes exactly the order of the ื’ืื•ืœื”. And as long as that order is not fulfilled, then there is no ื’ืื•ืœื”. You could have 10 things, and a lot is a 100 things, and you could bring ืจืื™ื•ืช from ื’ืžืจื•ืช, as long as the ืจืžื‘ืดื, it doesn't fit to the ืจืžื‘ืดื, that's not ื’ืื•ืœื”. Now let's read what the ืจืžื‘ืดื says. This is in ืคืจืง ื™ืดื, ื”ืœื›ื” ื“ืณ: ื•ืื ื™ืขืžื•ื“ ืžืœืš ืžื‘ื™ืช ื“ื•ื“, there will be a king from ื‘ื™ืช ื“ื•ื“, ื”ื•ื’ื” ื‘ืชื•ืจื”, who studies ืชื•ืจื”, ื”ื•ื’ื” doesn't mean just study, works hard in learning ืชื•ืจื”, ื•ืขื•ืกืง ื‘ืžืฆื•ืช ื›ื“ื•ื“ ืื‘ื™ื•, and learns and does ืžืฆื•ืช like ื“ื•ื“ ื”ืžืœืš, ื›ืคื™ ืชื•ืจื” ืฉื‘ื›ืชื‘ ื•ืฉื‘ืขืœ ืคื”, ืชื•ืจื” ืฉื‘ื›ืชื‘, the written ืชื•ืจื” and the oral ืชื•ืจื”, ื•ื™ื›ื•ืฃ ื›ืœ ื™ืฉืจืืœ ืœื™ืœืš ื‘ื” ื•ืœื—ื–ืง ื‘ื“ืงื”, who will force all the ื™ื™ื“ืŸ to follow the ways of ืชื•ืจื” and to strengthen the cracks of ืชื•ืจื”, ื•ื™ืœื—ื ืžืœื—ืžื•ืช ื”ืณ, and he will fight the wars of ื”ืณ, ื”ืจื™ ื–ื” ื‘ื—ื–ืงืช ืฉื”ื•ื ืžืฉื™ื—, at that time there is a ื—ื–ืงื”, we could assume he's ืžืฉื™ื—, but we're not sure yet. In other words, the ื’ืื•ืœื” did not start yet. Even if this happens, the ื’ืื•ืœื” did not start yet. ื•ืื ืขืฉื” ื•ื”ืฆืœื™ื—, and if he did this and he was ืžืฆืœื™ื— and he succeeded, ื•ื‘ื ื” ืžืงื“ืฉ ื‘ืžืงื•ืžื•, and he built the ื‘ื™ืช ื”ืžืงื“ืฉ, and he's the only one that's going to build it, ื•ืงื‘ืฅ ื ื“ื—ื™ ื™ืฉืจืืœ, and he gathered all the ื™ื™ื“ืŸ, ื”ืจื™ ื–ื” ืžืฉื™ื— ื‘ื•ื“ืื™, then he's ืžืฉื™ื—. And what is the real ื’ืื•ืœื”? The ื’ืื•ืœื” is the ืงื™ื‘ื•ืฅ ื’ืœื•ื™ื•ืช. ื’ืื•ืœื” means when all the ื’ืœื•ืช people from all over will come. That cannot happen until after the building of the ื‘ื™ืช ื”ืžืงื“ืฉ through this human being, this person ืžืฉื™ื—. There are proofs from ื™ืจื•ืฉืœืžื™, different places. There's a long letter, it's actually a ืงื•ื ื˜ืจืก from the ืจื‘ื™ ืจืฉืดื‘, where he discusses this, and he brings all kinds of proof, which is not even I don't think anybody even argues, that first will come ื‘ื ื™ืŸ ื‘ื™ืช ื”ืžืงื“ืฉ, the building of the ื‘ื™ืช ื”ืžืงื“ืฉ, and then will come ืงื™ื‘ื•ืฅ ื’ืœื•ื™ื•ืช. ืชื—ื™ื™ืช ื”ืžืชื™ื, that's ืขื•ืœื ื”ื‘ื, that's a different argument altogether. In this, there is a ืจืžื‘ืดื which made certain ืชื™ืžื ื™ื mad, we'll get to that in a second. So the ืจืžื‘ืดื here says clearly that first will be ื‘ื ื™ืŸ ื‘ื™ืช ื”ืžืงื“ืฉ, then ืงื™ื‘ื•ืฅ ื’ืœื•ื™ื•ืช. And therefore, any time there is any ืงื™ื‘ื•ืฅ before the building of ื‘ื™ืช ื”ืžืงื“ืฉ is not part of the ื’ืื•ืœื”. In other words, very simply, the fact that you had 4 million or how many million of ื™ื™ื“ืŸ coming to ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ, that is not ืงื™ื‘ื•ืฅ ื’ืœื•ื™ื•ืช. That is a great thing, a great ื ืก that the ืื•ื™ื‘ืขืจืฉื˜ืขืจ did. The ืื•ื™ื‘ืขืจืฉื˜ืขืจ had pity on ื›ืœืœ ื™ืฉืจืืœ that he gave us ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ, that we are able to control it. But this is not ื’ืื•ืœื”. The fact that we have so many ื™ื™ื“ืŸ in ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ, we need a government. There is no question about it, we need a government. I mean, you can't The You have to have a government, you have to have a whole ืกื“ืจ ืžืกื•ื“ืจ, everything has to work properly. So you have to have a government. And it's in ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ because, and it so happens to be a holy land, it is a holy land, and the ืื•ื™ื‘ืขืจืฉื˜ืขืจ was good to us that he gave us this government, this possibility of living together in this holy land, but it's not ืงื™ื‘ื•ืฅ ื’ืœื•ื™ื•ืช, because there is no ื‘ื™ืช ื”ืžืงื“ืฉ, and there is no ืžืฉื™ื— here that is doing all this till the building ื‘ื™ืช ื”ืžืงื“ืฉ, and then to have ืงื™ื‘ื•ืฅ ื’ืœื•ื™ื•ืช. And therefore, till this happen, happens, there is no ืืชื—ืœืชื ื“ื’ืื•ืœื”. If, I'll translate it again: ืื ื™ืขืžื•ื“ ืžืœืš, I'll read it in English carefully: when a king will get up from the house of ื“ื•ื“, who studies ืชื•ืจื” and does ืžืฆื•ื•ืช like ื“ื•ื“ his father, according to the written ืชื•ืจื” and the oral ืชื•ืจื”, he will force all the ื™ื™ื“ืŸ to follow the ways of ืชื•ืจื” and to strengthen its cracks, he will fight wars for ื”ืฉื, at that point he is ื‘ื—ื–ืงืช ืžืฉื™ื—. He is assumed to be ืžืฉื™ื—. If he did this and succeeded, and then he built the ื‘ื™ืช ื”ืžืงื“ืฉ, and then he gathered the ื’ืœื™ื•ืช, the people from exile, then he is ืžืฉื™ื— ื•ื“ืื™, then we know it's ื’ืื•ืœื”. Anything before that is not ืืชื—ืœืชื ื“ื’ืื•ืœื”, because ืงื™ื‘ื•ืฅ ื’ืœื™ื•ืช must come after ื‘ื ื™ืŸ ื‘ื™ืช ื”ืžืงื“ืฉ. Now, the fact that we have ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ and we control ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ, in truth, even though like I said before this is a very, very great thing, ื‘ืจื•ืš ื”ืฉื that we have this, but even if you look at this from a different angle, this cannot be considered in any way a form or shape a form or shape of ื’ืื•ืœื”. Because ื’ืื•ืœื” means, as the ืจืžื‘ืดื says, to the least, that we will not have any ืฉื™ืขื‘ื•ื“ ืžืœื›ื™ื•ืช. That means we will not be under the control of the ื’ื•ื™ื. There is a big argument in ื’ืžืจื if ืžืฉื™ื— will come there will be a change in the world, all kinds of miracles. And ืฉืžื•ืืœ says ืื™ืŸ ื‘ื™ืŸ ื”ืขื•ืœื ื”ื–ื” ืœื™ืžื•ืช ื”ืžืฉื™ื— ืืœื ืฉื™ืขื‘ื•ื“ ืžืœื›ื™ื•ืช ื‘ืœื‘ื“. There will be no difference between now and the time of ืžืฉื™ื—, but the ืฉื™ืขื‘ื•ื“ ืžืœื›ื™ื•ืช, we will not be under the jurisdiction of the ื’ื•ื™ื. This is not fulfilled now, either. Even this simple thing is not fulfilled. Because if we, whatever we do, we are able to be pressured by Washington, or by London, or by Moscow, and we have to listen to what they say, this is not called independent enough to be considered a form of ื’ืื•ืœื” in any form or shape. Another thing here: the fact that we have a democratic government is not ื’ืื•ืœื”, cannot be ื’ืื•ืœื”. By ืžืฉื™ื— it says here: ื™ื›ื•ืฃ ื›ืœ ื™ืฉืจืืœ, he will force. There is no such thing as democracy in ื™ื™ื“ื™ืฉืงื™ื™ื˜. There is a democracy whether you should paint the building red or green, fine. But there is no democracy generally to say you could do what you want, and you choose. In theory, you know what could happen in ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ? If you will have a majority of Arabs voting, they'll vote out the whole Jewish government, and it will become an Arab government. It's not that ื‘ืขืฆื we took over ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ in the form that ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ is now ours, in our hands, like in the time of ื’ืื•ืœื”, or a beginning of ื’ืื•ืœื”. In theory, if for some reason ื™ื™ื“ืŸ decide not to vote, or they don't want to vote, or whatever it is, and the Arabs go to vote, and you make some more citizens of Arabs, they outvote us and we have an Arab government, and ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ is not by the ื™ื™ื“ืŸ. The concept of a democracy already in ื”ืœื›ื” is not is not in any way a ืžืœื›ื•ืช of ื’ืื•ืœื”. That's still in ื’ืœื•ืช, we are still in ื’ืœื•ืช. And we see the way things are going ื‘ื›ืœืœ that ื’ืื•ืœื” means that we will not care about what the ื’ื•ื™ื will say. The contrary, we will have the ื’ืื•ืŸ ื™ืขืงื‘, we will be the superpower, supreme power in the world. If we have to be always to please the ื’ื•ื™ื, and the government runs after the other ื’ื•ื™ื and say, that's far, far from being ืืชื—ืœืชื ื“ื’ืื•ืœื”, from being in any form ื’ืื•ืœื”. So what is it? It's ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ, it's ืืจืฅ ื”ืงื•ื“ืฉ, it's the holy land, and we are happy and we had a ื–ื›ื•ืช that ื”ืฉื gave us this holy land, and that we are able to control it, but this is not ื’ืื•ืœื”. Even if the government would be run according to the ืชื•ืจื”, even if the government would make a government according to the, ืขืœ ืคื™ ื”ืœื›ื”, it's still not ื’ืื•ืœื”, unless all the ื™ื™ื“ืŸ become ืคืจื•ื, and it starts, what the ืจืžื‘ืดื says starts coming, then it's a ื’ืื•ืœื”. The only thing is, there are some people who bring other ืžื“ืจืฉื™ื or ืžืคืจืฉื™ื from where they prove that it is ืืชื—ืœืชื ื“ื’ืื•ืœื”. And again we're talking about religious people. The non-religious don't bring any ืžืคืจืฉื™ื, they don't care about it, but the religious people. For instance, there is a ื™ืจื•ืฉืœืžื™ where the ื™ืจื•ืฉืœืžื™ says that ื’ืื•ืœืชืŸ ืฉืœ ื™ืฉืจืืœ will be ืงื™ืžืขื ืงื™ืžืขื. The ื’ืื•ืœื” of the ื™ื™ื“ืŸ will come slowly. It won't come like, change, slowly this will happen, that will happen. There is a ื’ืžืจื in ื›ืชื•ื‘ื•ืช I believe where it says that when you will have trees giving fruit in ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ, good fruit, ืื™ืŸ ืœืš ืงืฅ ืžื’ื•ืœื” ืžื–ื”, there is no greater greater ื’ืื•ืœื” than that. So here we have a clear ื’ืžืจื, what's ื’ืื•ืœื”, if ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ gives fruit. Now, ื‘ืจื•ืš ื”ืฉื they have a lot of fruit, and the ื ื’ื‘ they irrigate the ื ื’ื‘, and it starts growing, so they say this is the beginning of ื’ืื•ืœื”. This is not not ื”ืœื›ื”. This is a good ื’ืžืจื, and it's a ืžื“ืจืฉ, and it's ืชื•ืจื”, and we know ืืœื• ื•ืืœื• ื“ื‘ืจื™ ืืœืงื™ื ื—ื™ื™ื, every word of ื’ืžืจื is holy. But when it comes to ืคืกืงืŸ a ื“ื™ืŸ, it's only from ื”ืœื›ื”. We can't ืคืกืงืŸ a ื“ื™ืŸ from a ื’ืžืจื in ื”ืœื›ื•ืช ืฉื‘ืช. In ื”ืœื›ื•ืช ืฉื‘ืช we can't say, \"Well, there's an opinion in ื’ืžืจื, ื‘ื™ืช ืฉืžืื™ says so and so, so I'll do like ื‘ื™ืช ืฉืžืื™.\" If they ืคืกืงื ื“ the ื”ืœื›ื” like ื‘ื™ืช ื”ืœืœ, ื‘ื™ืช ืฉืžืื™ ื‘ืžืงื•ื ื‘ื™ืช ื”ืœืœ ืื™ื ื” ืžืฉื ื”, it doesn't count. It's ืชื•ืจื”, and if I learn in ื’ืžืจื the statement of ื‘ื™ืช ืฉืžืื™, I must make a ื‘ืจื›ื”, ื‘ืจื›ืช ื”ืชื•ืจื” like I make for every word of ืชื•ืจื”. It's the words of ื”ืฉื. But it's not ื”ืœื›ื”. And we can't follow that in ื”ืœื›ื”. In ื”ืœื›ื”, we have the ืจืžื‘ืดื. And that's it. So the ืจืžื‘ืดื knew of the ื’ืžืจื in the ื™ืจื•ืฉืœืžื™, the ืจืžื‘ืดื knew the ื’ืžืจื in ื›ืชื•ื‘ื•ืช, the ืจืžื‘ืดื knew everything, but this is the way he ืคืกืงื ื“, and he's the ืคื•ืกืง when it comes to ื”ืœื›ื•ืช ืžืฉื™ื—. And therefore, we can't bring ืจืื™ื•ืช from this ืžื“ืจืฉื™ื. There's a person who gave out a ืกืคืจ called ื”ืชืงื•ืคื” ื”ื’ื“ื•ืœื”. ื”ืชืงื•ืคื” ื”ื’ื“ื•ืœื”, the great ืชืงื•ืคื”, a great period that this is, time we live in. And he brings all kinds of ืžื“ืจืฉื™ื, and all kinds of things to show how this all is the beginning of ื’ืื•ืœื”. And when the ืจื‘ื™ spoke about it at a ืคืืจื‘ืจืขื ื’ืขืŸ, he spoke about that ืกืคืจ, and he said, \"ืžื“ืจืฉื™ื, I can bring you 50 ืžื“ืจืฉื™ื in the other way and I could bring this. We can't ืคืกืงืŸ ืฉืืœื•ืช with ืžื“ืจืฉื™ื. We have an ื”ืœื›ื”, and that's it, and this is what ื’ืื•ืœื” is, and nothing more than that.\" And that's how we have to ืคืกืงืŸ. And according to ื”ืœื›ื”, all these ืขื ื™ื ื™ื are not. They bring a ืจืžื‘ืดืŸ, and this is just ืกืชื, just to show that some of them even twist certain things. And when I saw that ืจืžื‘ืดืŸ, I was very, very surprised when I saw it quoted. The ืจืžื‘ืดืŸ says that all the nations will get together and they will decide to give ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ to the ื™ื™ื“ืŸ. That's how it's going to come. And that's going to be the ื’ืื•ืœื”. And they quote it, and it sounds very interesting. And they say this is what happened, and this is the ื’ืื•ืœื”. So I wasn't lazyโ€”I can't even tell you now where it is, because I didn't look at it for many yearsโ€”I wasn't lazy, I went and looked up the ืจืžื‘ืดืŸ, because it sounded strange to me. Yes, the ืจืžื‘ืดืŸ says that. But a line before that, the ืจืžื‘ืดืŸ says first ืžืฉื™ื— will come. I saw it. ืžืฉื™ื— will come, and then the nations will get together and decide to give ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ to the ื™ื™ื“ืŸ. ืžืฉื™ื— hasn't come yet. So that's why when it comes to looking at it, it has nothing to do with Zionism or not Zionism. We're talking here about one concept of ืืชื—ืœืชื ื“ื’ืื•ืœื”, we're not talking about the general idea, which is a different subject altogether. But the idea of having ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ in our hands as being the beginning of the ื’ืื•ืœื”, there was no change. The fact that we have it is nothing new. I mean it's new physically, but it was ours always. Nothing changed. We have it, we're able to control it, ื‘ืจื•ืš ื”ืฉื, thank God, and we're not allowed to give away any little bit because it's in our hands and it's ืœื ืชื—ื ื and it's ืคื™ืงื•ื— ื ืคืฉ, and all the things we spoke about last week, to give it away is the worst ืขื‘ื™ืจื”, it's one of the three ืขื‘ื™ืจื•ืช, ื™ื”ืจื’ ื•ืืœ ื™ืขื‘ื•ืจ, to give away. But to connect this to ื’ืื•ืœื”, that this is the beginning of ื’ืื•ืœื”, it's not. This is concerning this extreme.

Refuting Neturei Karta: The Three Oaths, Self-Defense, and Whether We May Vote

Now there is the other extreme, and we'll talk about the other extreme. They claim that you're not allowed to ื‘ื›ืœืœ be in control of ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ. And what's their ืกื‘ืจื? Their ืกื‘ืจื is because there is a ื’ืžืจื that says that when the ื™ื™ื“ืŸ went into ื’ืœื•ืช, the ืื•ื™ื‘ืขืจืฉื˜ืขืจ made them swear, made ื›ืœืœ ื™ืฉืจืืœ swear three ืฉื‘ื•ืขื•ืช, three oaths they took. One oath the ื™ื™ื“ืŸ took is ืฉืœื ื™ืžืจื“ื• ื‘ื’ื•ื™ื, they shouldn't revolt against the nations. The second one is ืฉืœื ื™ื“ื—ืงื• ืืช ื”ืงืฅ, they shouldn't push for ืžืฉื™ื—, which we have to understand what the ืคืฉื˜ is, it doesn't mean to ื“ืื•ื•ืขืŸ for ืžืฉื™ื—, but ืฉืœื ื™ื“ื—ืงื• ืืช ื”ืงืฅ means to do things like ืงื‘ืœื” and things that people try to do with all kinds of things to bring ืžืฉื™ื—. And the third thing is ืฉืœื ื™ืขืœื• ื‘ื—ื•ืžื”. ืฉืœื ื™ืขืœื• ื‘ื—ื•ืžื” means they shouldn't go with an army to fight to take ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ back. ื”ืฉื made them swear, made the ื™ื™ื“ืŸ swear that we shouldn't take ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ back till ื”ืฉื will tell us. So they claim that as long as that didn't happen, ื”ืฉื didn't tell us, we have promised, we swore that we will not take ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ back. The ื’ืžืจื, and the ื’ืžืจื quotes a ืคืกื•ืง, straight and through the ื ื‘ื™ื, we find ืคืกื•ืงื™ื in the ื ื‘ื™ื, it's the ื’ืžืจื in ื›ืชื•ื‘ื•ืช, ืคืกื•ืงื™ื in the ื ื‘ื™ื, where the ื’ืžืจื learns out from these ืคืกื•ืงื™ื that through the ื ื‘ื™ืื™ื the ื™ื™ื“ืŸ swore, called ื’ื™ืžืœ ืฉื‘ื•ืขื•ืช, they swore these three ืฉื‘ื•ืขื•ืช, that not entering, that we will not go with an army to take over ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ. Now the question is this, is that an ื”ืœื›ื”? That's number one. This is a ื’ืžืจื, and the ื’ืžืจื says it. Is this brought down ืœื”ืœื›ื”? Is this ื”ืœื›ื”? There are many, many ืกืคืจื™ื that write this is not a ื”ืœื›ื”. There's no such ื”ืœื›ื”! This in the ื’ืžืจื, which many things in the ื’ืžืจื that we have, well we can't ืคืกืงื ืขืŸ from there. Second of all, we have to know whether this falls into that category, what took place if it falls in that category. Number one, it was given by the ื’ื•ื™ื, the UN decided, that's number one. And number two, what happened later when the Arabs attacked us, then it was a ืžืฆื•ื” to fight, it's a ืžืœื—ืžืช ืžืฆื•ื”! Self-defense, it's a ืžืœื—ืžืช ืžืฆื•ื”! So that's not called going against the ืฉื‘ื•ืขื”, taking away. And what happened later in '67 when we got ื™ืจื•ืฉืœื™ื and all other places, that wasn't because we went, we decided to go and conquer more more land. It was self-defense. Makes no difference who started the war, we started, they started, it was a self-defense. And ืคืืจืงืขืจื˜, when it's self-defense and we got these places, it was given to us by ื”ืฉื, because we didn't go for it, and if it fell into our lap, ื”ืฉื gave it to us. And ื”ืฉื gave it to us with miracles. Concerning ื™ืจื•ืฉืœื™ื it's even more than that, concerning ื™ืจื•ืฉืœื™ื we all know that they had no plans of conquering ื™ืจื•ืฉืœื™ื. They didn't even make a plan, a strategy of how to fight in ื™ืจื•ืฉืœื™ื. Why were there so many casualties, more in ื™ืจื•ืฉืœื™ื than more than other places? Because ื™ืจื•ืฉืœื™ื they didn't even plan, they didn't want to conquer it. They were forced into it. The war went such a way that they had no choice, had to fight. And the last minute they had to sit down and make a plan, a strategy, and that's why it didn't really work. And like, and it worked, ื‘ืจื•ืš ื”ืฉื we got it, but it was not planned out. So when we got ื™ืจื•ืฉืœื™ื, it was ืžืžืฉ given to us into our hands by ื”ืฉื. So that's called that we went to conquer it? Except the fact that it's not something that's brought down in ื”ืœื›ื” that we're not allowed to. I don't know where they get their ideas that the whole ืกืคืจ that because of this ืฉื‘ื•ืขื” it's ื™ื”ืจื’ ื•ืืœ ื™ืขื‘ื•ืจ. We know there are three ืขื‘ื™ืจื•ืช that you have to give up your life for. And they claim this is another ืขื‘ื™ืจื” you have to give up your life for: not to conquer ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ by war you have to give up your life for. But in truth, there is no ื”ืœื›ื” of ื•ืœื ื™ืขืœื• ื‘ื—ื•ืžื” and it's not accepted, and therefore we're allowed to. Then there are more things that come along with all this. According to their opinion, they claim we're not allowed to go to vote. Why? Because the whole government they claim is based on a ื”ืฉืงืคื” which is against ืชื•ืจื”, to have a government, a Jewish government in ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ against the ืชื•ืจื”. And therefore when you vote, you're giving a hand, a ื—ื™ื–ื•ืง to this government. And we know that the ืจื‘ื™ used to come out every time they had elections, earlier years especially, send a telegram to ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ, \"Go and vote, everyone has a ื—ื•ื‘ ืงื“ื•ืฉ, a holy ื—ื•ื‘ to vote!\" Why? Because if another Jewish vote, another, ืคืจื•ืžืขืจ vote I mean, another ืคืจื•ืžืขืจ vote, it'll be better for ืื™ื“ื™ืฉืงื™ื™ื˜. See, being a participant in the actual government, in the cabinet, is ื˜ืืงืข a ืฉืืœื”. Not in the ื›ื ืกืช, because the ื›ื ืกืช is not the one that controls, but being a participant in the government... So for many years ืื’ื•ื“ื” wasn't in the government, ืคื•ืขืœื™ ืื’ื•ื“ื” wasn't in the government, and even ืžื–ืจื—ื™ went out of the government for these ืฉืืœื•ืช. Because to be a participant in the controlling body, you have a responsibility for everything that they do. But being in the ื›ื ืกืช and voting and trying to get in the best people that'll be best for ืื™ื“ื™ืฉืงื™ื™ื˜, then there is no question. The truth is in their opinion I myself don't really understand, and I have a lot of time discussions with them, the ืžืฉื•ืœื—ื™ื come, I try to start up with them. These guys come from from ื ื˜ื•ืจื™ ืงืจืชื, they ask. So first thing I ask him, \"Collecting money, but doesn't the government give money?\" \"Well, we don't take money from the government.\" But I asked him, \"I heard that from the city government, from the federal government you don't take, but from the city you do take.\" \"Well, that's different.\" \"Well, why is it different?\" No one had an answer. The same thing with election, with the vote. They don't go to vote for prime minister or they don't go for the federal, but when it comes to the cities, they do vote. I can't understand why. And ื‘ื›ืœืœ according to their opinion that you can't be part, participate in anything that they do because it's all forbidden, you can't take money from them because it's all ื˜ืจื™ืคื” money, you can't live in ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ ื‘ื›ืœืœ! How can you use their money ื‘ื›ืœืœ? How could you pay with the ืฉืงืœื™ื? How could you use their water? How could you use their electricity? How could you use anything? So the only way is to move out of ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ! No one says that. There is something that's not clear. But the truth is, the way we understand it, that there is nothing wrong. The fact that they're doing the wrong things, everyone agrees anything that's against the ืชื•ืจื” is wrong. But and we have to try to strengthen it, to make it should work according to the ืชื•ืจื”, and therefore we should go to vote, and we should do everything to put up more people, more ืคืจื•ืžืข people that'll be able to vote, be able to to do the right things. So that's concerning this side. But to say that we shouldn't do it, and we shouldn't vote, and it's all forbidden, and therefore we should give back territories, that's a ื”ืฉืงืคื” which is, like I said, the other extreme which way the ืจื‘ื™ explained that there is no ื™ืกื•ื“ for this. There are other questions that come up concerning ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ, is there a ืžืฆื•ื” nowadays of ื™ืฉื•ื‘ ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ? We know that one of the ืžืฆื•ื•ืช is the ืžืฆื•ื” of inhabiting or living in ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ, and that's a big discussion. Now, ื‘ืคืฉื˜ื•ืช, most ืคื•ืกืงื™ื hold that there is. There is one opinion that says not. There is a ืชื•ืกืคื•ืช where ืจื‘ ื—ื™ื™ื ื›ื”ืŸ, one of the ื‘ืขืœื™ ื”ืชื•ืกืคื•ืช says that nowadays better not to live in ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ. Why? He says because there are so many ืžืฆื•ื•ืช it's hard to be careful with: ืชืจื•ืžื•ืช and ืžืขืฉืจื•ืช and ืฉืžื™ื˜ื”, and sometimes who knows if you can do it, it's harder, it's easier to stumble, easier to be ื ื›ืฉืœ. Now, that's a ื“ืขืช ื™ื—ื™ื“. Most opinions hold that there is a ืžืฆื•ื”. Only thing is, some hold that it's not a ืžืฆื•ื” on the individual, it's a ืžืฆื•ื” on the ืฆื™ื‘ื•ืจ. It's a general ืžืฆื•ื” on ื›ืœืœ ื™ืฉืจืืœ, which is more on the ื‘ื™ืช ื“ื™ืŸ. But there is no ืžืฆื•ื” on the individual. Many hold there is a ืžืฆื•ื” of ื™ืฉื•ื‘ ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ. But that has nothing to do with the state belonging to us or not belonging to us. That's a ืžืฆื•ื” that was there 100 years ago, 500 years ago. There is a ืžืฆื•ื” of ื™ืฉื•ื‘ ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ. That's true. So, as a general picture of everything that we're saying here, it comes out like this: that ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ is ours, without a question, and ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ is an ืืจืฅ ื”ืงื•ื“ืฉ, without a question. Did any change in the status of ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ take place in 1948 in ื”ืœื›ื”, in ืชื•ืจื”? No. ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ was ours before and ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ is still ours. We have it, ื‘ืจื•ืš ื”ืฉื, that we have ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ, that we're able to control it. The ืื™ื™ื‘ืขืจืฉื˜ืขืจ gave it to us, but there's no change in status. Is it any form of ื’ืื•ืœื”? No, the ืจืžื‘\"ื says what ื’ืื•ืœื” is. Anything before that is not ื’ืื•ืœื”. And the fact that so many ืื™ื“ืŸ come from all over, as long as it's before the ื‘ื ื™ืŸ ื‘ื™ืช ื”ืžืงื“ืฉ, it's not ืืชื—ืœืชื ื“ื’ืื•ืœื”, it's not the beginning of ื’ืื•ืœื”. On the other hand, is there anything negative, ื—ืก ื•ืฉืœื•ื? Like they say, you're not allowed to have this government. If the ืื™ื™ื‘ืขืจืฉื˜ืขืจ gave it to us with ื ื™ืกื™ื, then we have to control it. The fact that they're not doing it, doing many things in the right way, that's a problem, so we got to fight it, we got to do what we can. The ืคืจื•ืžืข parties and ืคืจื•ืžืข ืื™ื“ืŸ have to go out and fight and see what they could do to make more ืฉืžื™ืจืช ืฉื‘ืช, and against ื ื™ืชื•ื—ื™ ืžืชื™ื, and against all the problems, giving back ืฉื˜ื—ื™ื, all the problems, the ืคืจื•ืžืข problems we have to do. But it doesn't mean that ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ lost its ืงื“ื•ืฉื”, or things like not going to the ื›ื•ืชืœ ื”ืžืขืจื‘ื™. The ืกืื˜ืžืืจืขืจ said that people shouldn't go to the ื›ื•ืชืœ ื”ืžืขืจื‘ื™. Why, the ื›ื•ืชืœ ื”ืžืขืจื‘ื™ lost its ืงื“ื•ืฉื”? The fact that it was conquered through the Zionists, and he came up with an idea that ื”ืฉื doesn't perform miracles through ืจืฉืขื™ื, he says, and these people were ืจืฉืขื™ื and ื”ืฉื doesn't perform miracles through ืจืฉืขื™ื, which doesn't say anywhere. He brought proof from this place, from that place. ื”ืฉื doesn't perform miracles through ืจืฉืขื™ื. Why not? So, I remember when it was the story of Entebbe and the ืจื‘ื™ came out the great proclamation that we have to thank ื”ืฉื for the ื ื™ืกื™ื he did, the ื ื™ืกื™ื. So, they came out against him, they said, \"What kind of ื ื™ืกื™ื? How could there be ื ื™ืกื™ื? They came through the Zionists, through ืจืฉืขื™ื. How could there be ื ื™ืกื™ื?\" So, the ืจื‘ื™ at a ืคืืจื‘ืจืขื ื’ืขืŸ spoke about it and he said like this, \"I want to pose a question, and I want all the ืจื‘ื ื™ื in the world to answer this ื”ืœื›ื”'ื“ื™ืงืข question, a clear ื”ืœื›ื” question. If one of the people who are in the plane, who were in the plane and were saved from Entebbe, if he happens to come back to Entebbe at a later time, will you ืคืกืงืŸ is he obligated to make the ื‘ืจื›ื”?\" There is a ื‘ืจื›ื” when a person is saved, you have to make a ื‘ืจื›ื”: ื‘ืจื•ืš ืฉืขืฉื” ืœื™ ื ืก ื‘ืžืงื•ื ื”ื–ื”, thanks to ื”ืฉื for making a miracle in this place. \"Will you ืคืกืงืŸ that he has to make a ื‘ืจื›ื” or not?\" And as if the ืจื‘ื™ said, \"I dare you to ืคืกืงืŸ that they don't have to make a ื‘ืจื›ื”.\" Then he said, \"I have another question to ask. Will the ืื™ื™ื‘ืขืจืฉื˜ืขืจ, is there anything wrong in going to a non-ืคืจื•ื doctor, a non-ืคืจื•ื doctor? Now, you won't, how you could say, 'Well, there's no ื ื™ืกื™ื there.' But when a doctor heals, it's also from ื”ืฉื, just like a ื ืก. We believe a doctor is a ืฉืœื™ื—. ื”ืฉื doesn't make a ืจืฉืข a ืฉืœื™ื—. So, if a non-ืคืจื•ื doctor, person who is bad, even a ื’ื•ื™, so you can't go to him because you don't think ื”ืฉื will make him into the ืฉืœื™ื— to bring you the cure? It's ื ืืจื™ืฉืงื™ื™ื˜ืŸ. So why can't ื”ืฉื make a miracle through these people?\" And the truth is, these people, they call them ืจืฉืขื™ื. What kind of ืจืฉืขื™ื? People who are ืžื•ืกืจ ื ืคืฉ, people who give up their life for other ืื™ื“ืŸ. I remember by the Six-Day War the ืจื‘ื™ told somebody privately in ื™ื—ื™ื“ื•ืช that when there is a soldier standing in Sharm El Sheikh at fighting, holding his rifle, holding his machine gun, the words he used was ื’ื™ืœื•ื™ ืืœืงื•ืช ืœืžื˜ื” ืžืขืฉืจื” ื˜ืคื—ื™ื. That was ื’ื™ืœื•ื™ ืืœืงื•ืช. That was the greatest godly revelation. A ืื™ื“ is standing there protecting other ืื™ื“ืŸ, going on ืžืกื™ืจื•ืช ื ืคืฉ, giving up his life. And you call them ืจืฉืขื™ื? People who are giving up their life for others? Remember by the Yom Kippur War, the ืจื‘ื™ spoke even more. The ืจื‘ื™ said that it happened on ื™ื•ื ื›ื™ืคื•ืจ. ื™ื•ื ื›ื™ืคื•ืจ, when the ืื™ื™ื‘ืขืจืฉื˜ืขืจ forgives everybody, so ื™ื•ื ื›ื™ืคื•ืจ are all ืฆื“ื™ืงื™ื. What do we need more than a ื™ื™ื“ going on ืžืกื™ืจืช ื ืคืฉ, and the ืื•ื™ื‘ืขืจืฉื˜ืขืจ, what, doesn't do ื ื™ืกื™ื through them? The fact that it was utilized maybe later for no good, like they claimed, how could it be that the ื›ื•ืชืœ ื”ืžืขืจื‘ื™, having the ื›ื•ืชืœ ื”ืžืขืจื‘ื™ is good? Look what the ืฆื™ื•ื ื™ืกื˜ืŸ did. Because of that, they came out and they said ื›ื•ื—ื™ ื•ืขื•ืฆื ื™ื“ื™, we did it all, and certain strength came to the people who are not religious, that gave them more ื›ื—. So how could you say this was something good? Came from ื”ืฉื with all kinds of miracles, but look what was the outcome. Certain things gave ื›ื— to people who are not ืคืจื•ื and it showed that you don't have to be ืคืจื•ื. So how could it be from ื”ืฉื? So they claim it came from the ืกื˜ืจื ืื—ืจื, that this saving of the ื™ื™ื“ืŸ came from the ืกื˜ืจื ืื—ืจื, from the ืงืœื™ืคื”, from the evil forces of the world. So, remember the ืจื‘ื™ once said, first of all, the ืกื˜ืจื ืื—ืจื doesn't save three million ื™ื™ื“ืŸ, I mean you just can't say such ื ืืจื™ืฉืงื™ื™ื˜ืŸ. And second of all, where does it say that it can't be good if we see later there was a result that wasn't so good? We find in ืžื“ืจืฉ that what made the ื™ื™ื“ืŸ make an ืขื’ืœ? Because by ืžืชืŸ ืชื•ืจื” ื”ืฉื came down, it says with the ืžืขืฉื” ืžืจื›ื‘ื”, with the whole ืžืจื›ื‘ื”, with the chariot, and the ืžืจื›ื‘ื”, it says in ืชื \"ืš, there are four faces, one face is ืคื ื™ ืฉื•ืจ, the face of an ox. And the ื™ื™ื“ืŸ liked it, and because of that they made an ืขื’ืœ. So you'll say ื”ืฉื made a mistake? He shouldn't have come down with the ืžืขืฉื” ืžืจื›ื‘ื”, and it wasn't good obviously because look what came out of it. Does that prove if something, that something no good comes out, it's proved that this is no good? We find the ื’ืžืจื that the ื’ืžืจื says that how can we have ื”ื ืื”, have benefit from the sun and the moon when people worship the sun? If people worship the sun, it's an ืขื‘ื•ื“ื” ื–ืจื”, and you're not allowed to have benefit from ืขื‘ื•ื“ื” ื–ืจื”. So the ื’ืžืจื says that ื”ืฉื says, ื•ื›ื™ ื‘ืฉื‘ื™ืœ ืฉื•ื˜ื™ื ื”ืœืœื• ืืื‘ื“ ืืช ืขื•ืœืžื™? Because of these fools who worship the sun, I should destroy my world? It's their problem. I do what I have to do, and if they don't utilize it in the right way, that's their problem. Same thing here. ื”ืฉื made miracles and gave us ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ, and gave us the ื›ื•ืชืœ ื”ืžืขืจื‘ื™, and gave us all that, and we have to have it. ืื™ื™, some people ื˜ืืงืข used it for negative things, good, so we have to fight that. We have to see that it shouldn't happen. But it doesn't negate the whole ืขื ื™ืŸ of the ืื•ื™ื‘ืขืจืฉื˜ืขืจ giving it to us.

The Kedusha of the Land and the Kotel, and Q&A on Theocracy, Miracles Through Resha'im, and Reishit Tzemichat Geulateinu

Now, all this after we understand what the ืงื“ื•ืฉื” of ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ is, that's even more. We all know that ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ is a place, a physical place in the world where the ืฉื›ื™ื ื” rests. ื›ื•ืชืœ ื”ืžืขืจื‘ื™, the ืžื“ืจืฉ says, ืœื ื–ื–ื” ืฉื›ื™ื ื” ืžื›ื•ืชืœ ื–ื”, the ืฉื›ื™ื ื” never moved from the ื›ื•ืชืœ ื”ืžืขืจื‘ื™. But ื‘ื›ืœืœ, ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ is ืืจืฅ ืืฉืจ ืขื™ื ื™ ื”ืฉื ืืœืงื™ืš ื‘ื”, it's a land where the eyes of ื”ืฉื are there ืชืžื™ื“, constantly, ืžืจืืฉื™ืช ื”ืฉื ื” ื•ืขื“ ืื—ืจื™ืช, from the beginning of the year to the end of the year. The ืื•ื™ื‘ืขืจืฉื˜ืขืจ's eyes are there. What does that mean? The ืื•ื™ื‘ืขืจืฉื˜ืขืจ's eyes are all over. ื”ืฉื is ืžืฉื’ื™ื—, looks all over the world. But all over we don't feel it, and there we're able to feel it. So being in ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ, the ืงื“ื•ืฉื”, the ืฉื›ื™ื ื” is there. There's just a ืžื—ืœื•ืงืช in the ืคื•ืกืงื™ื, I think between the ืจืžื‘\"ืŸ and what way the ืฉื›ื™ื ื” rests in ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ. It says, how the ืฉื›ื™ื ื”, which is a spiritual thing, should rest in a physical place, doesn't look like it mixes. How could ื’ืฉืžื™ื•ืช and ืจื•ื—ื ื™ื•ืช mix? So it says two ืคืฉื˜, two opinions. One opinion is it's similar to the physical brain that contains ืฉื›ืœ. The physical brain is also a physical thing, but it is a ื›ืœื™ for ืฉื›ืœ. Then there is another opinion that is similar to the fingers that write a ื“ื‘ืจ ืฉื›ืœ, that write an intellectual thing. When you write an intellectual thing, the ืฉื›ืœ goes through your fingers. Now the fingers are not a ื›ืœื™, not a vessel for ืฉื›ืœ, but nevertheless it goes through. So some say ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ is a physical place which is a ื›ืœื™ for the ืงื“ื•ืฉื”. Some say it's not a ื›ืœื™, but nevertheless the ืฉื›ื™ื ื” is there, like the fingers where the ืฉื›ืœ is. But whichever way we look at it, ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ is the place of the ืฉื›ื™ื ื”. So therefore, if we're able to be there, and able to control it, and be in our hands, it's the greatest thing we could imagine. But again, not to confuse it with the ืขื ื™ืŸ of ื’ืื•ืœื” and the ืขื ื™ืŸ of coming of ืžืฉื™ื—. Coming of ืžืฉื™ื— has its own order, and when that's going to happen, then we'll know ืžืฉื™ื— is here. Till then, ืžืฉื™ื— is not here yet, the ื’ืื•ืœื” is not here, it's not even ืืชื—ืœืชื ื“ื’ืื•ืœื”. It's a great, a great ื ืก. We have to thank ื”ืฉื for it without a question, but to connect it to ื’ืื•ืœื”, that not. So we have to look at both ways, and like I said in the beginning, this is the middle path. It's not like those that say this is ื’ืื•ืœื”, it's not like those other extremists that say ืœื ื™ืขืœื• ื‘ื—ื•ืžื”, you're not allowed to have it, you have to give it back. But it's the middle. It's not ื’ืื•ืœื”, but it's a place where ื”ืฉื gave us and we have to keep it, and appreciate it, and utilize it, and this will make that the coming of ืžืฉื™ื— will be very soon. Yes. You said earlier, 1948, the United Nations declared that ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ belongs to the Jews, everybody knows that. But you also said that at that time, if they would have made it, they could have made it ืขืœ ืคื™ ื”ืœื›ื”, ืขืœ ืคื™ ืชื•ืจื”, if the government, called the government, called that called government, they would have brought, would have brought It was an ืขืช, it was an ืขืช ืจืฆื•ืŸ to bring a ื’ืื•ืœื”. Let me finish. But the question is, then it would have been what is known as a theocracy. It wouldn't have been a theocracy, according to according to ื”ืœื›ื”, according to ื”ืœื›ื” and and and ืชื•ืจื”. So the question is, it's like putting the cart before the before the horse. If if ืžืฉื™ื— has to come before the, before the ื’ืื•ืœื”, ืžืฉื™ื— has to come first before the, before the ื’ืื•ืœื”. But here, it was an ืขืช ืจืฆื•ืŸ, and you had a, had an opportunity to make a theocracy, to make a government ืขืœ ืคื™ ืชื•ืจื”, so the then would would that have brought ืžืฉื™ื—? That would have brought ืžืฉื™ื—. That itself would not be the ื’ืื•ืœื”. Like I said before, you would have a ืคืจื•ืžืข government in ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ, it's still not a ื’ืื•ืœื”. But that was an ืขืช ืจืฆื•ืŸ that that would have brought ืžืฉื™ื—, and then it would have been the ื’ืื•ืœื”, right. So the question is, how would that have come about? How would you make a a a a ืชื•ืจื” government without without without without having ืžืฉื™ื—? ืžืฉื™ื— is the ืžืœืš ื”ืžืฉื™ื—. Why not? Why not? What's Why can't the government now make that ืฉื‘ืช you can't work, and ืฉื‘ืช and and all the Why can't they do it? They just don't want to, but they can. A ืคืจื•ืžืขืจ ืื™ื“. Not a ืžืœืš. Not a ืžืœืš. Well, that doesn't matter. He would be someone who runs the government. You would have a democratic government, which is not ืžืœืš ื”ืžืฉื™ื—. You have a democratic government and it would be according to ืชื•ืจื”, and this was an ืขืช ืจืฆื•ืŸ that ืžืฉื™ื— should come. No, no. No, it's not democracy in ืื™ื“ื™ืฉืงื™ื™ื˜. I'm saying you would have a government, you could vote who's going to be the the head, and you vote the people in, but the laws of the government would be ืชื•ืจื”. It would be not a land of Jews, but a Jewish land. That's all. Why is it why is it that the ืจืžื‘ืดื, the ืจืžื‘ืดื, the ืจืžื‘ืดื, he's the only ืคื•ืกืง, he's all the only all the other great ื’ืื•ื ื™ื, whatever, they're the only ones that that that don't, let me finish, that don't have a don't have a, don't have a difference of opinion about ืžืฉื™ื—, about ื’ืื•ืœื”? Okay, good question. The question is not only about this. The difference between the ืกืคืจ of the ืจืžื‘ืดื. The question is why, I mentioned before that the ืจืžื‘ืดื is the only ืคื•ืกืง that ืคืกืงื ืก what the ื’ืื•ืœื” is. There are so many other ืคื•ืกืงื™ื, no one ืคืกืงื ืก. Why not? The answer is we know the difference between the ืจืžื‘ืดื and other ืกืคืจื™ื, other ืคื•ืกืงื™ื is, for instance, the ืฉื•ืœื—ืŸ ืขืจื•ืš, they all ืคืกืงื ื“ only concerning ื“ื™ื ื™ื which apply ื‘ื–ืžืŸ ื”ื–ื”, which apply now. ื”ืœื›ื•ืช which apply with the ื‘ื™ืช ื”ืžืงื“ืฉ in the time of ืžืฉื™ื—, they did not ืคืกืงืŸ. They did not go into, that wasn't their ืกืคืจ. So therefore you don't have the ื”ืœื›ื•ืช of ืงืจื‘ื ื•ืช and the ื”ืœื›ื•ืช of all the ืขื ื™ื ื™ื, ื—ื˜ืื•ืช and ื‘ื ื™ืŸ ื‘ื™ืช ื”ืžืงื“ืฉ, all these things we don't find. The only ืคื•ืกืง that ืคืกืงื ื“ these ื”ืœื›ื•ืช is the ืจืžื‘ืดื. He took upon himself to ืคืกืงืŸ these ื”ืœื›ื•ืช. And therefore the ื”ืœื›ื” of ืžืฉื™ื—, which is part of that, they also didn't ืคืกืงืŸ. But the truth is that the ื›ืกืฃ ืžืฉื ื”, for instance, who is the ื‘ื™ืช ื™ื•ืกืฃ of the ืฉื•ืœื—ืŸ ืขืจื•ืš, on his in his commentary on the ืจืžื‘ืดื, he does, sometimes argue, sometimes agree, and like I said before, in a place where he doesn't argue, he obviously agrees. He didn't make a ืกืคืจ to ืคืกืงืŸ these ื”ืœื›ื•ืช, but here where he doesn't argue, he agrees. But as a ืกืคืจ, the ืจืžื‘ืดื was the only ืคื•ืกืง that took upon himself to ืคืกืงืŸ ื”ืœื›ื•ืช that are ื ื•ื’ืข to after the coming of ืžืฉื™ื— or the beginning of ืžืฉื™ื—, and then later on in ื‘ื ื™ืŸ ื‘ื™ืช ื”ืžืงื“ืฉ. Yes. We spoke that last week. That's last week's topic. I'm not going... Yes, who First comes ื‘ื ื™ืŸ ื‘ื™ืช ื”ืžืงื“ืฉ. Okay. ืชื ืฉื‚ืดื, which is just six years ago, the ืจื‘ื™ spoke a lot about ืžืฉื™ื—. The ืจื‘ื™ said then that a lot of ืื™ื“ืŸ went out of Russia then, when it started when the Russian communist regime fell and then a lot of ืื™ื“ืŸ went to ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ, so the ืจื‘ื™ did refer to it with the concept of ืงื™ื‘ื•ืฅ ื’ืœื•ื™ื•ืช. So let me explain that. There is this concept of ื˜ื•ืขืžื™ื” ื—ื™ื™ื ื–ื›ื•. That means that before the ื’ืื•ืœื”, we will get a taste of certain things that will be when ืžืฉื™ื— will come. Just like it says in ืฉื•ืœื—ืŸ ืขืจื•ืš that ืขืจื‘ ืฉื‘ืช you have to taste from the food of ืฉื‘ืช, and many of the women know that that they make the ืงื•ื’ืœ for ืฉื‘ืช, and by the time ืฉื‘ืช comes around, it's all eaten up because they taste it a little bit too much before ืฉื‘ืช. So the coming of ืžืฉื™ื— is considered like ืฉื‘ืช, and therefore we will get the taste of ืขื ื™ื ื™ื after ืžืฉื™ื— that will already have started then. In other words, this is not the beginning of the fulfillment of ืงื™ื‘ื•ืฅ ื’ืœื•ื™ื•ืช. It is something that we taste of what is going to be later. So this is not in any form or shape the beginning of the ื’ืื•ืœื”. But ื”ืฉื did certain things, the ื ื™ืกื™ื He did. The ื ื™ืกื™ื that ื”ืฉื did in the Six-Day War ื•ื‘ื›ืœืœ in the Independence War, all these times were, we could say, a taste of what's going to happen when the ื’ืื•ืœื” will come. But this is not ื’ืื•ืœื” yet. The ื’ืื•ืœื” has to go through this formality. So when the ืจื‘ื™ spoke then, the ืจื‘ื™ spoke of another thing then. He says when there was this the the summit, I think between Bush and and and Gorbachev or whoever, and they spoke about destroying certain certain atomic missiles or things like that, and changing the energy into using for for certain working in the fields, I don't remember what it was, so the ืจื‘ื™ said here we see what the ืคืกื•ืง says and ืžืฉื™ื— will come, ื•ื›ืชื• ื—ืจื‘ื•ืชื ืœืืชื™ื, that they will destroy the swords and ืœื ื™ืฉื ื’ื•ื™ ืืœ ื’ื•ื™ ื—ืจื‘, there won't be, and they'll change it, it says, into plows. Here we see it fulfilled. So the ืจื‘ื™ didn't say this is the beginning of the ื’ืื•ืœื”. This is a taste to show as a ืกื™ืžืŸ that ืžืฉื™ื— is coming soon. Certain things happen as a ืกื™ืžืŸ, as a taste of what will happen later. There are a lot of things which are ืกื™ืžื ื™ื of ืžืฉื™ื—, that yeah. ืœืžืฉืœ, there's a whole ืกื•ื’ื™ื in ื’ืžืจื of ืกื™ืžื ื™ื, signs that will take place before ืžืฉื™ื— will come, and I can tell you many of them are being fulfilled right now. But definitely, they're not the beginning of the ื’ืื•ืœื”. For instance, one of them is ื—ื•ืฆืคื ื™ืกื’ื. Oh, yeah, a lot of ื—ื•ืฆืคื. That's a ืกื™ืžืŸ ืžืฉื™ื— is coming soon. No one is going to say that ื—ื•ืฆืคื ื™ืกื’ื is the beginning of the ื’ืื•ืœื”. It's a ืกื™ืžืŸ for the ื’ืื•ืœื”. It says ื‘ืช ืงืžื” ื‘ืืžื” ื•ื›ืœื” ื‘ื—ืžื•ืชื”, a daughter is going to fight against, revolt against her mother, and daughters-in-law against their mothers-in-law, it's going to be a whole thing which it is. It says there will be inflation before ืžืฉื™ื— will come. These are all ืกื™ืžื ื™ื. But these ืกื™ืžื ื™ื are not ื”ืชื—ืœืช ื”ื’ืื•ืœื”. They're the complete opposite of ื’ืื•ืœื”, but it's nevertheless a ืกื™ืžืŸ. One of the ืกื™ืžื ื™ื is that there will be certain things happening which are from the same concept, the ืขื ื™ื ื™ื as it will be later on, they will happen before the ื’ืื•ืœื”, but you can't say that this is the ื’ืื•ืœื”. In simple words, as long as we are we don't have what the ืจืžื‘ืดื says, ืžืฉื™ื— is not here, and as long as we're not independent that ื‘ื›ืœืœ we can't we don't need the ื’ื•ื™ื at all, we're not under anybody, it's not ื’ืื•ืœื” at all. But the main thing is the ื”ืœื›ื”. Yes. You know that in a Chabad house in Israel, they say the ืชืคื™ืœื” ืœืฉืœื•ื ื”ืžื“ื™ื ื”, and they say ืฉืชื”ื ืจืืฉื™ืช ืฆืžื™ื—ืช ื’ืื•ืœืชื ื•. And they wrote to they asked the Rebbe, and the Rebbe said that they could continue to say it. To be honest, the first time I hear it. A Chabad shul. Maybe some places say it for for whatever reason they have, but that's not that's definitely not the Lubavitcher philosophy. Definitely not. It's a Chabad shul where the rav is Lubavitch. Maybe someone asked a ืฉืืœื”, should he quit his job because of this, and he said no let continue, say it? And they said why do they say it for? Pressure. Oh, so maybe he asked a ืฉืืœื” under the pressure, so if I don't do it, I'll lose people. Maybe because I lose people, people won't put on ืชืคื™ืœื™ืŸ, people won't ื“ืื•ื•ืขืŸ, so there's a ืฉืืœื” what to do. Maybe the the ืจื‘ in that specific case ืคืกืงื ื˜. Let's say someone ask a ืฉืืœื”: \"We don't feel we don't want we don't want to say that, but if we don't say it, then some people leave.\" If they leave, let's say there's a person who will leave and he'll not he won't be here, he'll he'll go to the Conservative, he'll go to Reform. So we lose a guy from ื™ื™ื“ื™ืฉืงื™ื™ื˜. So are we, because of that, supposed to change? So maybe this guy asked a ืฉืืœื”, and the ืจื‘ ืคืกืงื ื˜, \"In your case, to do that.\" But definitely, we're See, what I'm talking here, what I spoke about last week and talking about now, it's all the general concept, philosophy. Then every philosophy has to be geared, in every specific case there's a ืฉืืœื” to ask, like in ื”ืœื›ื•ืช ื›ืฉืจื•ืช, you have to ask a ืฉืืœื” in this case, is this ืคื™ืงื•ื— ื ืคืฉ, is it not, what's the ื“ื™ืŸ here? A lot of ื“ื™ื ื™ื, a lot of things involved. The general philosophy is is this. Then, in certain cases, maybe they said better to do this than to do something else. But it's definitely against the philosophy of Lubavitch to say ืจืืฉื™ืช ืฆืžื™ื—ืช ื’ืื•ืœืชื ื•. They say ืฉืชื”ื. That this should be the ืจืืฉื™ืช ื’ืื•ืœืชื ื•? Oh, ื‘ื›ืœืœ there should be? That the medina should be. That the ืžื“ื™ื ื” should be? No, they said ืฉืชื”ื. I don't know how they Maybe they change a few more words. That ื‘ื›ืœืœ In other So does that mean that they're saying that the establishment of the State of Israel should become the ืจืืฉื™ืช ืฆืžื™ื—ืช ื’ืื•ืœืชื ื•? That it should become. You say ื‘ื›ืœืœ, like we're saying in ืžื™ ืฉื‘ืจืš that it should be, ืื‘ืขืจ... is a good thing to say. We always say, we ื“ืื•ื•ืขืŸ so much for ืžืฉื™ื— should come, but that this should turn into it? Yes. When it comes to, when it comes to escaping the Holocaust, no one knows, and people are trying to say the ืจื‘ื ื™ื said not to go, that has nothing to do with the State of Israel, but they weren't against the State of Israel. What was is they were afraid, and certain things materialized, that the way it's going to be will turn ืื™ื“ืŸ away from, from ืื™ื“ื™ืฉืงื™ื™ื˜. The philosophy, see, I really did not want to get into the concept of Zionism per se, but you touched upon it. The philosophy was that we need a land where we will be, and that will keep ืื™ื“ืŸ together, and that will free us from keeping ืžืฆื•ื•ืช. ื›ื›ืœ ื”ื’ื•ื™ื ื‘ื™ืช ื™ืฉืจืืœ, like all the ื’ื•ื™ื, like all the nations we will be, and they claim that when you're, even today you hear it from some people, but today Zionists ื‘ื›ืœืœ they don't even know themselves what the philosophy is, but they claim that in ืืจืฅ ื™ืฉืจืืœ
