shouldn't have too much business from Yidden, only like the Rebbe told somebody, a doctor, he said, should have only preventive medicine. You shouldn't have business from people are sick. I guess you have to learn preventive medicine. Delivering babies, yeah. Yeah, delivering babies. I do it, but I cannot do preventive medicine and work in the walls. People have to come, so then you can you can treat them. Yeah. Not just for the doctor, it's also for the patient. Come to shul, we'll talk about this. We train on preventive medicine for the yetzer hara and so on. Medicine, preventism, klal, this in all the Torah. Okay, 注诇 讛驻住讜拽 讻讛 转讗诪专 诇讘讬转 讬注拽讘 讜转讙讬讚 诇讘谞讬 讬砖专讗诇, and the pasuk in this week's parashah before 诪转谉 转讜专讛, 讛' said: 讻讛 to 诪砖讛, 讻讛 转讗诪专 诇讘讬转 讬注拽讘, this is what you should say to the house of 讬注拽讘, 讜转讙讬讚, you should tell, to the 讘谞讬 讬砖专讗诇. Says say to 讘讬转 讬注拽讘, those are the women. 讜转讙讬讚 诇讘谞讬 讬砖专讗诇, you say to the 讘谞讬 讬砖专讗诇, 讗诇讜 讛讗谞砖讬诐, that's the men.
讚讘专 讗讞专, another peshat: 讻讛 转讗诪专 诇讘讬转 讬注拽讘 讘诇砖讜谉 专讻讛, that to 讘讬转 讬注拽讘 you should speak softly, 讗诪讜专 专讗砖讬 讚讘专讬诐 诇谞砖讬诐, say to the women just the 专讗砖讬 讚讘专讬诐 means the the general ideas, the outlines, 讜转讙讬讚 诇讘谞讬 讬砖专讗诇 讜转讚拽讚拽 注诪讛诐, but to the 讘谞讬 讬砖专讗诇, to the men, you shall be medakdek, you should say carefully every detail. 爪专讬讱 讘讬讗讜专, the 诇砖讜谉 of the Midrash needs a lot of explanation. 诪诇砖讜谉 讛诪讻讬诇转讗 讚讘专 讗讞专, when the Mekhilta says like this: first he says 讘讬转 讬注拽讘 is the women, 讘谞讬 讬砖专讗诇 the men. Then he says, 讚讘专 讗讞专, another peshat. From that he said If you say 讚讘专 讗讞专, another peshat, there are two peshtim here. What are the two peshtim the Mekhilta gives? First thing the Mekhilta said, one goes for a woman, one goes for a man. Then he said, one tells you to speak softly and general ideas, and the other one says tell them details. They're not two pshatim. Two pshatim means when in the same thing you see different things. Here they're two separate things completely. 转讞讬诇讛 诪驻专砖 诪讬 讛诐 讘讬转 讬注拽讘 讜讘谞讬 讬砖专讗诇, first he explains who is the 讘讬转 讬注拽讘 and who are the 讘谞讬 讬砖专讗诇. 讘讬转 讬注拽讘 the women, 讘谞讬 讬砖专讗诇 the men. 讜讗讞专 讻讱 诪驻专砖 讗讜驻谉 讛讚讬讘讜专, then he says another thing: when you speak to these people, how should you speak to them? So he says 讘诇砖讜谉 专讻讛, to 讘讬转 讬注拽讘 should be 讘诇砖讜谉 专讻讛 softly, 讜讗讜驻谉 讛讚讬讘讜专 诇讘谞讬 讬砖专讗诇 诪讚拽讚拽 注诪讛诐, to the men, you shouldn't be so soft, you should be detailed. So why does the midrash use the 诇砖讜谉 讚讘专 讗讞专, that's another pshat? The Midrash should have said: this is the men, this is the women, and then the Midrash should continue: and to the women you speak this way, to the men you speak this way. But it's not like two pshatim.
讜讛谞讛, this is Mekhilta, 讘诪讚专砖 专讘讛 注诇 讛驻住讜拽, the Midrash Rabbah says a little different. Midrash Rabbah says like this: 讻讛 转讗诪专 诇讘讬转 讬注拽讘 讗诇讜 讛谞砖讬诐, this what you should say to 讘讬转 讬注拽讘 that goes on the women. 讗诪专 诇讬讛, 讗诪专 诇讛诐 专讗砖讬 讚讘专讬诐, he said to him, tell them the general ideas, the outline, 砖讛谉 讬讻讜诇讜转 诇砖诪讜注, which they could hear. And how we know from the Rebbe, if you start with a Midrash, start with a Gemara, start learning, you have to when you listen in the beginning what the Gemara or Midrash say, you have to listen to every word, because usually he's medayek in the words. Pshatut goes into the details. See, the velt learns, you know, generally, the same idea. Every word. So again, what does he say here? 讘讬转 讬注拽讘 goes on the women, and he said, tell them the 专讗砖讬 讚讘专讬诐, the outline of the things, 砖讛谉 讬讻讜诇讜转 诇砖诪讜注, that they could hear. 讗诪专 诇讬讛, 讗诪专 诇讛诐 讚拽讚讜拽讬 讚讘专讬诐 砖讛诐 讬讻讜诇讬诐 诇砖诪讜注, tell them the details which they could hear. 诇驻讜诐 专讬讛讟讗, superficially, 谞专讗讛 砖讝讛讜 讻驻讬专讜砖 讛砖谞讬 砖讘诪讻讬诇转讗, this looks like the second pshat of the Mekhilta, 讗讜 讛专讻讘 砖诇 砖谞讬 讛驻讬专讜砖讬诐, or a combination of both, because he says both things here: this is the men, this is the women, and to the women you should say you should say 专讗砖讬 讚讘专讬诐, general ideas, and to the men, say 讘讚拽讚讜拽. Is Rashi? Huh? Rashi the Mekhilta? No, Rashi doesn't bring it. We'll see in a second. Mekhilta is Mekhilta. Let's look into the understand what does the Midrash mean, but the number one, See, the Mekhilta said to the women two things: speak 讘诇砖讜谉 专讻讛 and 专讗砖讬 讚讘专讬诐, speak softly and general ideas. The Midrash, when it says speak to the women, it just says 讘诇砖讜谉 专讻讛, it just says 专讗砖讬 讚讘专讬诐. It just says speak to them general, he skips the word 讘诇砖讜谉 专讻讛, softly. A second thing we see there: 诪讜住讬祝, the Midrash adds words, 砖... To the women you should speak 专讗砖讬 讚讘专讬诐, that's what they could hear. By the men also that they can that they could able to hear. What is the additional of these words? So basically there is a difference, even though generally speaking, the Mekhilta and the Midrash are saying the same thing, but it's not so. We see different wording. It seems like there's a 诪讞诇讜拽转 here, an argument between the Mekhilta and the Midrash. What Moshe said to the women. 诇讛诪讚专砖 讗诪专 诇讛诐 专讗砖讬 讚讘专讬诐, according to the Midrash all he said to them was generally, 讜讗讬诇讜 诇讛诪讻讬诇转讗 讗诪专 讙诐 讚讘专讬诐 专讻讬诐. And according to the Mekhilta, besides the 专讗砖讬 讚讘专讬诐, the general ideas of the 讛诇讻讜转 that Moshe taught them, he also spoke to them soft words. What's soft words? 诪讛 砖讻转讘讜 诪驻专砖讬诐, 诪驻专砖讬诐 said that that are 讚讘专讬 驻讬讜住, words of encouragement. 讻诇讜诪专, 讛住讘专转 诪注诇转 讛诪爪讜讜转, explain to them how importance to do the 诪爪讜讜转, 砖讻专 拽讬讜诪谉 讜讻讜诇讬, and the reward you will get. Besides telling them the 专讗砖讬 讚讘专讬诐 of the 讛诇讻讜转 of the Torah, according to the to the Mekhilta he also added words, soft words to make them feel good. According to the Midrash he didn't. So there's some kind of machloket here. Did he or didn't he?
The word 专讻讛 means words of encouragement and general ideas, 砖讙诐 讛诐 谞拽专讗讬诐 诇砖讜谉 专讻讛, 讻讬讜讜谉 砖拽诇 诇讛讘讬谞诐. It's also called When you tell them general ideas, it's called When you go into details, it's hard to concentrate, you got to hear every detail. When you say general things, it's it's soft. Now where do we see that Rashi learns like that? 讝讛 诇砖讜谉 专砖状讬 注诇 讛讻转讜讘, this is what Rashi says: 诇讘讬转 讬注拽讘 讗诇讜 讛谞砖讬诐, say to the women, that's say to the 讘讬转 讬注拽讘 that's the women. 转讗诪专 诇讛诐 讘诇砖讜谉 专讻讛, tell them, speak to them softly. 讜转讙讬讚 诇讘谞讬 讬砖专讗诇, when it says the second half, 注讜谞砖讬谉, tell them punishments, 讜讚拽讚讜拽讬谉, and the details, 驻讬专砖 诇讝讻专讬诐, that you should explain to the males, 讚讘专讬诐 讛拽砖讬诐 讻讙讬讚讬诐, words that are hard, strong like 讙讬讚讬诐. 讛讬讬谞讜, that means like this, we see from here: 诇讗 驻讬专讟 驻讬专讜砖 诇砖讜谉 专讻讛, 专砖状讬 didn't explain what 诇砖讜谉 专讻讛 means. But on the other hand, 讘讜转讙讬讚 诇讘谞讬 讬砖专讗诇 讻转讘, in the second half when he said by the men, 注讜谞砖讬谉 讜讚拽讚讜拽讬谉. Since they're parallel, the women say one way, the men another way. What he said, what he meant to say to the men he explained, Rashi explains. So from that we could understand that the women are the opposite. So what did he say to the men? 注讜谞砖讬谉, punishments, that's not soft words, that's not encouraging words, that's 讗专讬讬谞讙注讛讗拽讟. 讜诪砖诪注 拽爪转 砖诪驻专砖 诇砖讜谉 专讻讛 诇谞砖讬诐 讻讜诇诇 砖谞讬 注谞讬讬谞讬诐, so the opposite by the women, even though Rashi uses only one expression, 诇砖讜谉 专讻讛, he probably means both: 讛讜驻讻谉 砖诇 注讜谞砖讬谉, the opposite of by the men which is punishment, which is 讗诪讬专转 砖讻专谉 砖诇 诪爪讜讜转, he told them the reward of 诪爪讜讜转, 讜讛讜驻讻谉 砖诇 讚拽讚讜拽讬谉, by them he said the opposite of 讚拽讚讜拽讬谉, which is 专拽 讗诪讬专转 讚讘专讬诐 讻诇诇讬讬诐, not the 讚拽讚讜拽讬诐 of the details, but the 讻诇诇, 讻诇诇讬 讛诪爪讜讜转. So Rashi learns like that, but we're not discussing Rashi, that's why this is in brackets. It just says, by the way you should know Rashi learns that, but in the Midrash, in Mechilta, it seems differently. So the point is, he didn't tell the men the schar of the mitzvot? Right. Just tell them the onesh? Yeah. Just to them he speak hard. When you want to speak hard, you tell a guy: you're going to better do it, if not. To the men women you speak the opposite. But from Rashi 诪砖诪注 that they both go together, but from the Midrash, it's not the same. The Midrash just mentions 专讗砖讬 讚讘专讬诐, that to the women he said 专讗砖讬 讚讘专讬诐, doesn't mention 诇砖讜谉 专讻讛. The Mechilta mentions 诇砖讜谉 专讻讛, both: say 诇砖讜谉 专讻讛, softly, which is wordings of encouragement, plus also 专讗砖讬 讚讘专讬诐. And what we're going to need to understand here: what is the machloket here? Plus we have the first kashya: why does the Midrash make it in two pshatim? First the Midrash says: this is the women, this is the men. 讚讘专 讗讞专, another pshat: here you speak 诇砖讜谉 专讻讛, here not. That's not another pshat! It's putting the same thing, it's continuing: speak to the women, how should you speak to the women? Why it's a different pshat? 讬砖 诇讜诪专 谞拽讜讚转 讛讘讬讗讜专 讘讝讛, the Rebbe says that the point of this here look at this: 砖谞讬 讛驻讬专讜砖讬诐 讘诪讻讬诇转讗 讞诇讜拽讬诐 讘讟注诐 砖 The two pshatim, it seems the Mechilta gives two pshatim. That pasuk says two expressions: 转讗诪专, use the word 讗诪讬专讛 to 讘讬转 讬注拽讘, and 转讙讬讚, another expression. What's the difference? The pasuk definitely makes two expressions, that they're different: there's 转讗诪专 and there is 转讙讬讚. So the Mechilta says: you know why there's a difference? Because this goes to women, this goes to men. So the difference between whether it's 讗诪讬专讛 or 转讙讬讚 depends on who you're telling it to. That's what it depends on. 讚讛讞讬诇讜拽 讘转讻讜谞讜转 谞驻砖诐 砖诇 谞砖讬诐 讜讗谞砖讬诐, because there's a difference in the nature, the 转讻讜谞讜转, the the attributes, the nature of men and women, 讛讘讬讗 砖谞讬 讗讜驻谞讬诐 住讜讙讬诐 讘诪住讬专转 讚讘专讬 转讜专讛. That's what brought two ways of telling the Torah. To the women, since their nature is one way, you got to tell it one way, the other way, the other way. 诪讛 砖讗讬谉 讻谉 诇驻讬专讜砖 讛砖谞讬, according to the second 驻砖讟, 讛讞讬诇讜拽 讘讗讜驻谉 诪住讬专转 讛转讜专讛 讬住讜讚讜 讘讛讞驻爪讗 砖诇 讚讘专讬 转讜专讛, it's not dependent on the people who are receiving it. It depends on the Torah, meaning, That's the Torah requires The way whenever you teach Torah, it requires these two things. First, you tell them 专讗砖讬 讚讘专讬诐, that's how you teach always: first, you say the general ideas and then you go into details. 讜讗讞专 讻讱 诪讜住讬祝, so first he says that the Torah requires two things, and then he adds even more, 砖砖谞讬 住讜讙讬诐 讗诇讜 讘讚讘专讬 转讜专讛 诪转讞诇拽讬诐 诇砖谞讬 住讜讙讬诐 讘讘谞讬 讬砖专讗诇. These two ways of teaching Torah also will have a connection to who you're telling it to: So, he's saying like this: the first peshat in Rashi just says one thing. The way there are, one thing is clear, the pasuk says 转讗诪专 and 转讙讬讚. Rashi said the Midrash the Mechilta says one peshat: this goes on the men, this goes on the women. Why are you, why is here 转讗诪专 and here 转讙讬讚? Because the women need a 转讗诪专, the men need a 转讙讬讚. Has nothing to do what what you're teaching, it's just a woman will cannot accept if you're not going to teach it differently. This, men could. And the, and the second peshat in the Mechilta, 讚讘专 讗讞专, it says, he teitshes different. He says what to tell, meaning that the difference between 转讗诪专 and 转讙讬讚 is because depends what you're saying. There is saying 专讗砖讬 讚讘专讬诐, 诇砖讜谉 专讻讛, that's one way. That's, and then there's the other way, is to say the details. And that's why there's a two different ways. Those two ways, the Midrash says the Mechilta says, happened to be given to different people. But the first doesn't have anything to do with the two ways. Stam, even the same thing when we say to men and women, we'd have to say it differently. But the second one says it depends on what you're saying. Before we said that the Midrash is similar to the second peshat of the Mechilta, because what did the Midrash say? 转讗诪专 诇讘讬转 讬注拽讘, to them you speak 专讗砖讬 讚讘专讬诐, to the women. 转讙讬讚 诇讘谞讬 讬砖专讗诇, to the men, you say details. So we said, sounds like the same thing as the second peshat in the Mechilta. He says, no. 讗诇讗 讗讚专讘讛, 诪驻专砖 讜诪讘讛讬专 讗转 讛驻讬专讜砖 讛专讗砖讜谉 砖讘诪讻讬诇转讗, 砖讛讟注诐 诇讞诇讜拽讛 讝讜: 讗诇讜 谞砖讬诐, 讗诇讜 讗谞砖讬诐, 讛讜讗, what is the reason why we give difference to the men and the women? The Midrash adds, remember the question he asked? Why does the Midrash add 诪讛 砖讬讻讜诇讬诐 诇砖诪讜注, they could hear? The Midrash is trying to say that the difference is not because of what you're saying, of who you're saying to. Some people could hear this, some people can only hear that. 诪爪讚 讛转讜专讛 itself, there's no, not davka that you have to divide it some to teach details to teach general and then details. So Moshe decided to each one give to each what that could take, but not because the Torah requires it, which fits to the first pshat of the Mechilta. The second pshat of the Mechilta says the difference comes because the Torah, the teaching of Torah requires these two ways. The first pshat of the Mechilta says, no, nothing to do with your Torah, it's just the people can't hear, so you got to divide it. And the Midrash fits to that. That's why the Midrash adds He says what the Midrash says 专讗砖讬 讚讘专讬诐 means something else as the Mechilta, and we'll see that's why it's no setirah. The meanwhile, the Rabbi just said general ideas, didn't explain what does it mean, but we know at least following the pattern. Then now the 讛住讘专讛. The pattern is where the Rabbi explains the Mechilta has two peshatim, it's a machloket, it's takeh a 讚讘专 讗讞专. The first peshat is that the difference in the two ways is dependent on the 诪拽讘诇讬诐, because it's depending who you teach it to. The Midrash says, and the second peshat holds not like that, holds that it depends in 转讜专讛 讙讜驻讗 there are, you have to teach two ways. And the Midrash learns like the first peshat. And the Midrash says it depends who, what, how they could hear.
When we use the expression 专讗砖讬 讚讘专讬诐, there are two things you could, two peshatim, two ways you can learn. The Gemara says you should always teach in a short way. You have to take whole 讗专讬讻讜转, put it into some 讚讘专讬诐 拽爪专讬诐, short words, 讻讚讬 砖讬讜讻诇 讛转诇诪讬讚 诇拽讘诇. If you're going to teach a 转诇诪讬讚 all the details, it'll be hard. So you got to take all the details, condense it, put it into 专讗砖讬 讚讘专讬诐. But then there's another peshat of 专讗砖讬 讚讘专讬诐. It's not 专讗砖讬 讚讘专讬诐 you condense everything. You give the 讻诇诇 that all the details come out of that 讻诇诇, 注诇 讚专讱 诇砖讜谉 讛诪砖谞讛 砖讛讜讗 讚讘专 拽爪专 讜诪讻讬诇 注谞讬谞讬诐 专讘讬诐. The Rambam says the lashon of the Mishnah is different than the Gemara. All the details of the Gemara are hidden in the Mishnah. Okay, so there are two things. The first one is to get condense everything, and here, aderaba, say the general idea which could tell you everything. It's not the same could be the same thing, could it? We'll see in a second. In
诪转谉 转讜专讛 we find it, 砖讘转讞讬诇讛 谞讬转谞讜 注砖专转 讛讚讘专讜转, that's what happened. First the Eibershter gave 注砖专转 讛讚讘专讜转, 砖讛诐 讻诇诇讜转 讻诇 讛转讜专讛 讻讜诇讛, that's the whole Torah. Rashi brings from Rav Saadia Gaon, all 转专讬\"讙 诪爪讜转 are in hinted in the 注砖专转 讛讚讘专讜转. Even that the ten 讚讘专讜转, the main ten which contain everything are the first two. That's why the first two we heard from the That's the whole Torah. As it says in Tanya, that 讗谞讻讬 讛' 讗诇拽讬讱 contains all positive 诪爪讜转, 诇讗 讬讛讬讛 诇讱 contains all negative mitzvot. So that's what the Eibershter did. The first thing in Torah he gave was 注砖专转 讛讚讘专讜转 and the first two. That's the order how things have to go, You give the first klal and the klal contains everything. That's like fits to the second way of he said 专讗砖讬 讚讘专讬诐, which means that you have a klal and the klal contains everything. That's another thing: Chazal say that first the Eibershter said all 注砖专转 讛讚讘专讜转 together, and no one could understand, but he said it with one 讚讬讘讜专. He explained, he said everyone separately. Like eleven? Like? Eleven? No, he said the same ten. First all ten together, and then he said it separately. Why do you first have to say it all together, 诪讛 砖讗讬谉 讛讗讜讝谉 讬讻讜诇讛 诇砖诪讜注, which a person can't even hear? That's the seder the way the Eibershter gave the Torah: 转讞讬诇讛 讬砖谞讛 讛讻诇诇 讙讚讜诇 砖讻诇 讛转讜专讛 讻讜诇讛, first you have the main 讻诇诇, 砖讻诇 讛转讜专讛 讻讜诇讛 讛讬讗 专拽 讚讬讘讜专 讗讞讚. So the aibershter made the whole Torah into one dibur. Then it was separated. And that itself came in an order: 转讞讬诇讛 诇注砖专转 讛讚讘专讜转, first 讻诇 讚讬讘讜专 讘驻谞讬 注爪诪讜, first everyone of the ten separately, 讜讗讞专 讻讱 诇转专讬\"讙 诪爪讜转, and then divided into 613. Then it went on into more and more and more. So goes in an order.
Do we know what that first dibur is? Do you know what the words were in that first dibur? All the words, 谞讜. The whole all All the ten, but he said it together. You call that one dibur? Without space, you call that one dibur? Without space, I don't mean without spaces. I think he said it together. First, second, third, we're all while he was saying the first, he was saying the second, like Yeah, it's not a it's not a word, it's I think I think if we take 120 people, and you assign to each person a word from 注砖专转 讛讚讘专讜转, and at one second they all each one will say his own word, so it's all together. Yeah, one word will No one will know anything, but that's it, but you said all the 注砖专转 讛讚讘专讜转. That's the difference between what the Mekhilta says that Moshe the aibershter said to Moshe to tell the women 专讗砖讬 讚讘专讬诐, and what the Midrash says. 讘砖谞讬讛诐 诪讚讜讘专 讘讻诇诇讬 砖讘转讜专讛, both are talking the klal of Torah. The Midrash says the word that they could hear. We're talking about a klal that woman could take.
讛讬讬谞讜 讚讘专讬诐 拽爪专讬诐, that's the first thing we said, to be very short, 砖讛转诇诪讬讚 讬讜讻诇 诇拽讘诇, that they could take, 讻讬 诪驻谞讬 砖谞砖讬诐 讚注转谉 拽爪专讛, the women they can't keep so long, 诇讻谉 谞讗诪专 诇讛诐 专拽 专讗砖讬 讚讘专讬诐 讜诇讗 讛专讘讬 讗转 Look, you don't tell them the details, tell them the klal. So the first one is not Farkert, you want to tell them all the details, but you can't, so you cut out some, and you just tell them whatever they're able to hear. The 专讗砖讬 讚讘专讬诐 of the Mekhilta is 专讗砖讬 讚讘专讬诐 讘注爪诐. That's the klal which contains everything. That's 讻诇诇讬 讛转讜专讛 砖讛诐 诪住转注驻讬诐 讻诇 驻专讟讬 讛转讜专讛, the klal which from that comes all the details. And it's interesting that according to the Mekhilta, he told this to the women. So, some reason that the 谞拽讜讚讛 讻诇诇讬转 of the 讙讗谞爪注 转讜专讛 is shayach more to the woman than to the man. And and why, we'll see, 讻诪讘讜讗专 诇拽诪谉. Why call it 讚注转谉 拽爪专讛 has to be a ma'alah, not a chesaron in a sense? If we always look at it as a chesaron. It's a chesaron. But if they were able to get the whole thing... We'll see why, 讻诪讘讜讗专 诇拽诪谉, we'll see what why they why it's noge'a to them, we'll see.
Comes out according to this, there's a big difference between the Mekhilta and the Midrash, what connection women have to Torah. According to the Midrash, all they got was whatever they could take. 诪讛 砖讗讬谉 讻谉 讛诪讻讬诇转讗, according to the 诪讻讬诇转讗, 砖诇讗 谞讝讻专 讛转谞讗讬 砖讬讻讜诇讜转 诇砖诪讜注, the Mekhilta doesn't mention things that they could hear. So according to the Midrash, they were given, they they took a he took a he condensed the Torah and gave them less. So which things did he give them less? Whatever is shayach to them. So it seems like he gave them only those mitzvot that are shayach to them, he took out. But according to the Mekhilta that he gave them the klal of the whole Torah, he gave them the 注爪诐 讛转讜专讛. That was given to the women. 专讗砖讬 讚讘专讬诐 砖诪讛诐 诪住转注驻讬诐 讛讚拽讚讜拽讬诐 砖谞讗诪专讜 诇讗谞砖讬诐, the main things which from that comes those things which are shayach to the women, to the men.

We know that certain mitzvot women don't have. All those mitzvot which have a time limit, they don't have. Tefillin, things that have a time. They don't have to learn. What's the chiluk? The question is like this: did the women get those mitzvot, but the Torah made it patur, or michatchilah there's no shayachut to them? According to the Midrash, they were only given whatever is shayach to them. So they were only given those mitzvot that they have to keep. Tefillin was never given to them, or shofar was never given to them. According to the Mekhilta, farkert, they were given the whole klal which contains everything, so everything was given there, although Hashem didn't tell them to do it. We'll see. They got it, but there are rules. They were given just like the men. But l'poal, just like you say we were given Shabbos, Sunday we don't have to keep Shabbos. There are conditions when's Shabbos. Here also, part of the mitzvah is that they don't have to keep it. But the mitzvah, the etzem is connected to them. Now, it's noge'a lahalacha. I don't know if he brings the halacha here, but it's noge'a lahalacha, if a woman could make a maybe that's maybe he brings at the bottom. That there's a machloket in the Rishonim, if a woman does a 诪爪讜转 注砖讛 砖讛讝诪谉 讙专诪讗, can she make a mitzvah? Can she take a bracha? Can she make a bracha? Lulav. For
instance, lulav. So the Sephardim say no. Pask like the Rambam. They're not mechuyav, and they have no mitzvah, they can't make a berachah. If you try to come to a woman a Sefardi to make her bentsh 讗转专讜讙, you know... Certainly not to make a berachah. But Rabbeinu Tam, and we pask like Rabbeinu Tam, we make a berachah, probably connected to this. If they're connected to it and they're patur, but if they do it, they have a mitzvah because this is given to them too. But according to according to the Rambam, takeh not. And they have a chelek in the mitzvah by helping the husband. That we'll see. 注诇 驻讬 讝讛 讬讜诪转拽 注讜讚 讬讜转专 诇驻讬 诪讛 砖讻转讘 讛讗专讬讝\"诇, this makes more sense even what the Ari z"l writes, 砖讘注砖讬讬转 讛讝讻专 讗转 讛诪爪讜讛, those mitzvot the women are patur, when the man does the 诪爪讜讛, 讗讬谉 诪谉 讛爪讜专讱 砖讙诐 讛谞砖讬诐 转注砖讬谞讛 诇讘讚谉. That's the secret of the idea, a woman is part of the body of the man. 讜讻讚讗讬转讗 讙诐 讘讝讜讛专, it says in 讝讜讛专, 砖讗讬砖 讜讗砖讛 讻诇 讗讞讚 诇注爪诪讜 驻诇讙 讙讜驻讗, man and a woman, each one is a half, and then they come together. 讜注谞讬谉 讝讛 讛讜讗 诇讗 专拽 讘谞砖讬诐 谞砖讜讗讜转, this is not only by married women, 讗诇讗 讙诐 讘讘谞讜转 讬砖专讗诇 砖诇讗 谞讬砖讗讜 注讚讬讬谉, even women who are not married. So the husband, that future husband, she could be 12 years old, she's going to get married in 10 years, that guy is doing the mitzvah now, works for her, interesting. Ha? Yeah, but katan is not mechuyav, miderabbanan. Ha? Now that's, okay, that's another vort. You're saying that's another nekudah. Here we're saying the 诪爪讜转 砖讛讝诪谉 讙专诪讗 because nashim are patur. Then there's another sh'eilah, is a katan or 拽讟谞讛 讘讙讚专 诪爪讜转 讗诇讗 诪讗讬 讚转讜专讛 驻讟专讛 or lechatchilah not 讘讙讚专. Same sh'eilah we have here, but that's another point. Ketanim are patur. Is the pshat the Torah wasn't given to ketanim, or it was given to them, but the 转讜专讛 驻讟专 them? Also chinuch. Derabbanan, is not de'oraita. But this makes sense, he says, that according to this pshat, the women have a shaychut to even those mitzvot that are patur, according to the Mechilta, not according to the Midrash. I advise him to get married for this reason! I guess so, I guess so, I guess so. Why couldn't it be? Why not? 转诇诪讜讚 诇讜诪专, the mitzvah of the kohanim was given to everybody? But they're patur? No, lechatchilah the mitzvah was given to kohanim. No, depends which mitzvah. No, you're talking about, that's Every 诪爪讜讛 讻讛谉 has, eat kodashim, to be korbanot, I mean... Well you can have another kohen, you have to have Yisrael. Those these are things, it says that he's motzi, a kohen is motzi, or in a gilgul. I'm saying, but there is a sh'eilah, it could be that not the whole Torah is 砖讬讬讱 to you. You have a shaychut to half of the Torah. Oh, the sh'eilah: Why, many acharonim hold like that. That the Torah was not given to women. Some, I mean, those 诪爪讜转 砖讛讝诪谉 讙专诪讗 were not given. They're not given to her. It's... No! I know they heard it, but it wasn't meant... When the Eibershter by 讛专 住讬谞讬 gave the mitzvot, and part of the rules of the mitzvot women are patur, so lechatchilah he said this is for you, this is for you. And the women are patur. It makes sense to say that. 讘驻讜注诇 he doesn't accept it that way, he says, from Mekhilta, but there is a sevara like that. Now
we'll understand why in the Mekhilta he uses the word 诇砖讜谉 专讻讛, softly, and not in the Midrash. 诇砖讜谉 专讻讛 means like encouraging words, things like that. So he's saying now that 专讗砖讬 讚讘专讬诐 and 诇砖讜谉 专讻讛 is the same thing. It's not like two things. You you you're you're able to take easier. There's something easier that they could take. They could take that 注爪诐 讛转讜专讛 more than the men. 诪讛 砖讗讬谉 讻谉 诇讛诪讚专砖, but according to the Midrash it's the opposite. According to the 诪讚专砖, 专讗砖讬 讚讘专讬诐 means farkert, give them less. 砖讗讬谉 诪讙诇讬诐 诇讛诐 讚讘专讬 转讜专讛 讻讗谞砖讬诐, don't tell them Torah like the men, 讻讬 讗讬谉 讬讻讜诇讜转 诇砖诪讜注 讻诇 讻讱, because they can't hear so much. That's why the Midrash skips the words Because 诇砖讜谉 专讻讛 the Rebbe 讟讬讬讟砖讟 means explain to them that when I'm giving them 专讗砖讬 讚讘专讬诐, it's a maalah, not a chesaron. That's the 诇砖讜谉 专讻讛. 诇砖讜谉 专讻讛 means make it soft, make understand the maalah of it. It's not necessarily a stirah. Between what and what? These two these these speaking nicely to them because because they Not speaking nicely to them. Saying, telling, 诇砖讜谉 专讻讛 means telling them the maalah of what they're having. Right, they can get the point easy in an easy Yeah, but not because they're getting the point, because they're getting the 注爪诐 讛转讜专讛. Definite. Adrabah, getting the point means you're giving the other point means you get them less. The other point means you're giving them less than the men. Why? They're giving them less? No, we're saying we're not giving them less, we're giving them the etzem, not less. Then the Midrash continues there another peshat. Why is it first to the women? Because 讛谉 诪讝讚专讝讜转 讘诪爪讜转, they're more careful in mitzvot. Not understood. Then he said another peshat why the women get first, because they're more careful to mitzvot. The only time you say another peshat on a certain thing if you had one peshat, then you have another peshat. There was no peshat before why the women are first. 注诇 驻讬 讛谞\"诇 讬砖 诇讜诪专, but based on what we said before you could say, 砖讻讜讜谞转 讛诪讚专砖 讛讬讗 砖讛拽讜砖讬讗 讘驻讬专讜砖 讗' 讘诪讚专砖 讛讜讗, it says like this: According to the first peshat comes out something strange. Because they can't get so much. That's too too much for them. So according to the first peshat becomes a kashya. So why the women first? Adrabah, first you give to whoever could take the whole thing, then whoever cannot take, you water it down. And that's what the Midrash says. You know why they were before? A different reason! Cause they'll be more careful in the mitzvot. Now, zerizut, zerizut is like speed. No, zerizut We say a person who's a zariz does it fast, but not It became in in in der velt became zerizin means somebody who is fast. That's not true. Mizdarezot is the same word. Same word. According to the other peshat, we understand why the women come first, According to the other peshat of the Mekhilta, what's that peshat in the Mekhilta? That they got the 注爪诐 讛转讜专讛, obviously why they come first. How's the seder? First you say the 讻诇诇, and then you go into 驻专讟讬诐. Now we said 诇驻讜注诇 诪诪砖 Mekhilta learns that the women got the 注爪诐 of the Torah, the 讻诇诇讬诐, not the men. Why takeh? He just figured out the peshat that that's must be the peshat in the in the Mekhilta. Not that they got it, the women got shorter, 诪爪讜诪爪诐, condensed and made it less. Adraba, they got the 注爪诐, and the men had to get the 讚拽讚讜拽 and the details. Why takeh? But you can't say they didn't get the 注爪诐. The men didn't No, it doesn't mean that the It means He didn't give them the 讻诇诇. Maybe later they got the 讻诇诇, but 诇讻转讞讬诇讛, the women He gave the whole the whole Torah in one little thing, the whole Torah. And the men didn't get that. Why not? Because they didn't need to be busy with the details. Now why should we listen to what you say?
