Beha'alotcha
Rabbi Schapiro on the Parshah: Behaalotecha
Asks why the Torah answers the complaints about eating only mann by describing its shape and appearance rather than its famous ability to taste like anything. Shows that the mann, as lechem min hashamayim, produced no waste even when eaten by tzadikim, beinonim, and resha'im alike, and explains why this made those who ate it fit to absorb the ruchniyus of Torah. Reads the mann's round, crystal-clear form as a physical expression of the infinity it still carried down from Shamayim, and draws the same idea out to Torah itself, which remains bli gvul even after it is dressed in human intellect.
