Chukat
Rabbi Schapiro on the Parshah: Chukat
Traces why halacha ties every para aduma, in every generation, back to the ashes of the one Moshe Rabbeinu made, and why he alone understood its reason. Shows that the red cow's role in purifying from tumat met is bound up with atoning for the cheit ha'egel, since death itself entered the world only through that sin, and will be fully removed only when Mashiach brings the tenth para aduma. Explains why this tikkun requires specifically the koach of Moshe, whose middah of emet makes his every act nitzchi, and why Chazal say lo met Moshe even as the pasuk records his death.
