Understanding the term ื–ื‘ื•ืœ and ื‘ื™ืช ื–ื‘ื•ืœ

called ื–ื‘ื•ืœ. ืคื™ืจื•ืฉ Rashi, Rashi explains, what does it mean, \"Now ื™ื–ื‘ืœื ื™, my husband will ื™ื–ื‘ืœื ื™\"? So Rashi said, ืœืฉื•ืŸ ื‘ื™ืช ื–ื‘ื•ืœ. The word ื™ื–ื‘ืœื ื™ comes from the word ื‘ื™ืช ื–ื‘ื•ืœ. The word ื‘ื™ืช ื–ื‘ื•ืœ is written by the ื‘ื™ืช ื”ืžืงื“ืฉ, when ืฉืœืžื” ื”ืžืœืš built the ื‘ื™ืช ื”ืžืงื“ืฉ, he said a tefilah, and he said to the Oibershter, \"I made a ื‘ื™ืช ื–ื‘ื•ืœ ืœืš.\" Which means ื‘ื™ืช ื“ื™ืจื”, ื‘ื™ืช ืžื“ื•ืจ, a place, a house where you dwell, you live. So what did she mean, \"Now ื™ื–ื‘ืœื ื™\"? She meant, ืœื”ื™ื•ืช ืขื™ืงืจ ื“ื™ืจืชื• ืืฆืœื™. Now, the main dwelling place of Yaakov will be with me, because she actually ื‘ื ื™ื ื›ื ื’ื“ ื›ืœ ื”ื ืฉื™ื, I have amount of children as much as all the wives put together, because they all knew Rashi says that they are going to have ื ื‘ื™ืื•ืช, they were ื ื‘ื™ืื•ืช, they knew they are going to have 12 sons and four wives. So if she has six, that means she already has more than as much as everyone else together. So she said, \"So now, my husband is going to be His dwelling place will be by me.\" Even knew that they ever davened for Dinah, that they wouldn't have That's why That's why later Leah davened for Dinah, that she should turn to a girl, she shouldn't have seven. So then it would be 13? No, then the other ones would only have five. Huh? One of them would only have one. Saying altogether they would and it would be her sister, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Okay, ื•ื”ื ื”, ืืฃ ืฉืฉื ื–ื‘ื•ืœ, ืœืฉื•ืŸ ื‘ื™ืช ื–ื‘ื•ืœ ื‘ืคืฉื˜ื•ืช, even though the way it seems peshat, peshat, that when she used the word ื–ื‘ื•ืœ based on the fact that this will make a ื‘ื™ืช ื–ื‘ื•ืœ, ืžื•ืจื” ืขืœ ืขื ื™ืŸ ื”ื ืคืขืœ ื‘ืœืื”. What did she say? \"Now I will become the ื‘ื™ืช ื–ื‘ื•ืœ, the dwelling place of my husband.\" ื™ื–ื‘ืœื ื™ ืื™ืฉื™, my husband. So, it's a name that has to do with her. It's not a name that describes the child, it describes her level. Mikol makom,

Names reflect the soulโ€™s essence

still, ืขืœ ืคื™ ื”ื™ื“ื•ืข, based on what we know, ืฉื”ืฉื ืฉื ืงืจื ื‘ื• ื”ืื“ื ืฉื™ื™ืš ืœื ืคืฉื• ื•ืžื”ื•ืชื•, a name that a person has is connected to his nefesh, to who he is, ื›ืžื• ืฉืžื‘ื•ืืจ ื‘ืกืคืจื™ื, says in ืกืคืจื™ื, ืฉืฉืžื•ืช ื‘ื ื™ ืื“ื ืื™ื ื ื“ืจืš ืžืงืจื”, names of people is not by chance, ืื™ ืจืฆื•ืŸ ื”ืื‘ ื•ืื ื‘ืงืจื™ืืชื•, or because the parents, the father and mother decided to use this name, ืืœื ื”ืงื‘ืดื” ื”ื•ื ื”ื ื•ืชืŸ ืฉื›ืœ ื—ื›ืžื” ื•ื“ืขืช, the Oibershter gives sechel and chochmah and ื“ืขืช, ื‘ืœื‘ ืื‘ ื•ืื, in the heart of the father and mother, ืœืงืจืืชื• ื‘ืฉื ืฉื”ื•ื ืžืฉื•ืจืฉ ื ืฉืžืชื• ืฉืœ ื”ื‘ืŸ, to call him with the name which is from the ืฉื•ืจืฉ ื ืฉืžื” of the son. So, any person, any name of any person represents the mahut of who the person is. ืขืœ ืื—ืช ื›ืžื” ื•ื›ืžื” ื”ืฉืžื•ืช ืฉื ื™ืชื ื• ืขืœ ื™ื“ื™ ื”ืืžื”ื•ืช, certainly names that were given to the ืืžื”ื•ืช, ืฉื ื‘ื™ืื•ืช ื”ื™ื•, they were ื ื‘ื™ืื•ืช, and they knew what they were doing, ืฉื•ื“ืื™ ื”ื›ื™ืจื• ื‘ื ื‘ื•ืืชื ื•ืจื•ื— ืงื“ืฉื, certainly they recognized with their nevuah and with their ืจื•ื— ื”ืงื•ื“ืฉ, ืžื”ื•ืช ื ืฉืžืช ื‘ื ื™ื”ื, the ืžื”ื•ืช of the neshamah of the children, ื•ื‘ื”ืชืื ืœื–ื” ืงืจืื• ืœื”ื ืฉืžื•ืช, and based on that they called them the name. So, therefore, even though Zevul is seemingly just something that's connect is connected to Leah, that she will become the ื‘ื™ืช ื–ื‘ื•ืœ of her husband, ื ืจืื” ืœื•ืžืจ, we have to say, ืฉื”ืชื•ื›ืŸ ื“ืฉื ื–ื‘ื•ืœ ืฉื™ื™ืš ืœืžื”ื•ืชื• ืฉืœ ื–ื‘ื•ืœ ืขืฆืžื•. We have to say that the name is also connected to what Zevul represents. Huh? Who? And I have nevuah if I name my child my son? I guess so. Yeah. You guess so. All right, the same. It's just the Oybershter. We don't know we have nevuah, it's a ื ื‘ื•ืื” ืžืœืžืขืœื”. So, ืฉื”ืจื™ ื”ื•ื ื”ื™ื” ื ืงืจื ื‘ืฉื ื–ื”. Zevul was called with that name. ื•ืื™ืŸ ื–ื” ืกืชื™ืจื”, it's no contradiction ืœืžื” ืฉื ืืžืจ with the ืคืกื•ืง ื”ืคืขื ื™ื–ื‘ืœื ื™ ืื™ืฉื™ ื“ืงืื™ ืืœืื”. The pasuk says that my husband was means will be I will be his ื‘ื™ืช ื–ื‘ื•ืœ, his dwelling place, goes on ืœืื”, ื›ื™ ื™ืฉ ืœื•ืžืจ ื“ื”ื ื‘ื”ื ืชืœื™ื, they're connected. ื–ื” ื’ื•ืคื ืฉื‘ืœื™ื“ืช ื–ื‘ื•ืœ ืฆืจื™ืš ืœื”ื™ื•ืช ืขื™ืงืจ ื“ื™ืจืชื• ืฉืœ ื™ืขืงื‘ ื‘ืื”ืœ ืœืื”, the fact that when Zevul was born that will make that the main dwelling place of Yaakov will be by ืœืื”, ืื™ื ื• ืจืง ืžืคื ื™ ืฉื‘ื” ื ืฉืœื ืžืกืคืจ ืฉืฉื” ื‘ื ื™ื, not only because, okay, now she had a sixth child that's why he lived there, ืืœื ื–ื” ืฉื™ื™ืš ื’ื ืœืขื ื™ื ื• ื•ืžืขืœืชื• ืฉืœ ื–ื‘ื•ืœ ืฉื ืชื•ืกืฃ ืื– ื‘ืื”ืœ ืœืื”. The fact that Zevul was born, that will make Yaakov's dwelling place mainly by Leah because of Zevul. So turns around and it comes out that it's all because connected to Zevul. So the name Zevul means that this person, Zevul, and obviously the whole shevet, is the most important or the real dwelling place of Yaakov. ื•ืœืคื™ ื–ื”, ืžื•ืงืฉื” ืžืชืžื™ื”ื, so now we

Why is Jacobโ€™s main dwelling linked to Zevulun?

have a question: ืขื ื™ื ื• ืฉืœ ื™ืขืงื‘ ื”ื•ื ืœื™ืžื•ื“ ื”ืชื•ืจื”. We know Yaakov's inyan is Torah, learning Torah. ืฉื ืืžืจ, like it says, ื•ื™ืขืงื‘ ืื™ืฉ ืชื ื™ื•ืฉื‘ ืื”ืœื™ื. Yaakov was a ืื™ืฉ ืชื and he sat in the tents, which means ืื”ืœื• ืฉืœ ืฉื ื•ืื”ืœื• ืฉืœ ืขื‘ืจ, the tents of Shem and Ever, which means he learned Torah. ื•ืื™ืœื• ืขื ื™ื ื• ืฉืœ ื–ื‘ื•ืœ, what's the inyan of Zevul? We always know ื›ื™ ื‘ืจื›ืช ื™ืขืงื‘ ืœื–ื‘ื•ืœ, Yaakov gave the berachah to Zevul, what did he say? ื–ื‘ื•ืœื•ืŸ ืœื—ื•ืฃ ื™ืžื™ื ื™ืฉื›ื•ืŸ. Zevulun lived by the port, and used to do business, ืฉื”ื™ื” ื–ื‘ื•ืœื•ืŸ ืขื•ืกืง ื‘ืคืจืงืžื˜ื™ื. He did business. Im kein, so ื›ื™ืฆื“ ืืคืฉืจ How can we say ืฉื“ื•ืงื ืขื ื™ื ื• ืฉืœ ื–ื‘ื•ืœื•ืŸ who became the ืขื™ืงืจ ื“ื™ืจืชื• ืฉืœ ื™ืขืงื‘? That Zevulun, that's the that's the ืขื™ืงืจ ื“ื™ืจื” of Yaakov. It would make more sense like you like you say later by Yosef, the one that if that's one of the children that his main thing was Torah, and Yaakov's inyan was Torah, so Yaakov's main place, main is is by that person. But how do we say that the main ื“ื™ืจื” of Yaakov is connected to Zevulun, when Yaakov's inyan is Torah and Zevulun's inyan is business? Think of the years that he worked for Lavan more than he... We'll see, we'll see, we'll see later. We'll see in the sichah.

Rashiโ€™s view on Zevulunโ€™s partnership with Yissachar

ืœื›ืื•ืจื”, ื”ื™ื” ืืคืฉืจ ืœื‘ืืจ ื–ื”, ืœื›ืื•ืจื”, we could explain this ืขืœ ืคื™ ืžืืžืจ ื—ื–\"ืœ, based on what the Chazal say ืขืœ ื”ืคืกื•ืง, the pasuk in Parashat Berachah says, ืฉืžื— ื–ื‘ื•ืœื•ืŸ ื‘ืฆืืชืš ื•ื™ืฉืฉื›ืจ ื‘ืื”ืœื™ืš. Zevulun, be happy with your going out, and Yissachar, be happy with your staying inside the tents. So Rashi says, what does that mean? ื–ื‘ื•ืœื•ืŸ ื•ื™ืฉืฉื›ืจ ืขืฉื• ืฉื•ืชืคื•ืช. ื–ื‘ื•ืœื•ืŸ and ื™ืฉืฉื›ืจ made a partnership. ื–ื‘ื•ืœื•ืŸ ื™ืฆื ืœืคืจืงืžื˜ื™ื ื‘ืกืคื™ื ื•ืช, ื–ื‘ื•ืœื•ืŸ went out to do business with ships to be by the port, he did business, ื•ืžืฉืชื›ืจ, and he made profit, he made money, ื•ื ื•ืชืŸ ืœืชื•ืš ืคื™ื• ืฉืœ ื™ืฉืฉื›ืจ, and he gave, supported ื™ืฉืฉื›ืจ. And because of that, ื•ื”ื ื™ื•ืฉื‘ื™ื ื•ืขื•ืกืงื™ื ื‘ืชื•ืจื”, they could sit and learn ืชื•ืจื”. ืœืคื™ื›ืš, therefore Rashi says, ื”ืงื“ื™ื, should be ื”ืงื“ื™ื ื–ื‘ื•ืœื•ืŸ ืœื™ืฉืฉื›ืจ. That's why Moshe Rabbeinu in the bracha mentions Zevulun before Yissachar because of this. What does that mean? Harei muvan, we understand, ืฉืงื“ื™ืžื” ื‘ืชื•ืจื”, ืงื“ื™ืžื” ื‘ืžืขืœื”. The fact that the Torah mentions it before, a siman is greater. ื”ื™ื™ื ื• ืฉื‘ื–ื” ืฉื–ื‘ื•ืœื•ืŸ ืขื•ืกืง ื‘ืชืžื™ื›ืช ื”ืชื•ืจื”, the fact that Zevulun was supporting those that learn Torah, ื™ืฉ maalah ืขืœ Yissachar, seems to be greater than Yissachar, okay? So now we

Business support gives Zevulun precedence

find that Zevulun has a maalah over Yissachar. Zevulun, who is supports Torah, businessmen who support Torah have a maalah over Yissachar who learns Torah. So mimela, we could answer the same thing here. We asked that Yaakov, his ืขื ื™ืŸ ืชื•ืจื”, how come his main dwelling place comes out here is by Zevulun? Because Zevulun is greater than Torah. But then that doesn't answer the kashya. It could be greater, but it's not inyan of Torah. So ืื‘ืœ ืงืฉื” ืœื•ืžืจ, but it's hard to say, ืฉืžืขืœื” ื–ื• ืฉืœ ืชื•ืžื›ื™ ื“ืื•ืจื™ื™ืชื, the maalah of the person who supports ืชื•ืจื”, ืชื›ืจื™ืข ื‘ืงื‘ื™ืขืช ืžืงื•ื ื“ื™ืจืชื• ืฉืœ ื™ืขืงื‘, that should be the the reason for where the Yaakov's dirah, Yaakov's permanent dwelling place will be, ืฉืขื™ืงืจ ื”ืžืขืœื” ื•ื”ื—ืฉื™ื‘ื•ืช ืืฆืœื• ืขื ื™ืŸ ื”ืชื•ืจื”. His main thing is Torah! How could you say Yaakov's main place is connected to the one that's doing business, ืœื• ื™ื”ื, even though ืฉื”ื›ื•ื•ื ืช ื”ืขืกืง ื”ื™ื ืจืง ื‘ืฉื‘ื™ืœ ืชืžื™ื›ืช ื”ืชื•ืจื”, even if we'll say their main purpose of doing business was to support Torah. Still, it's business, and Yaakov is Torah!

Reconciling Jacobโ€™s Torah focus with Zevulunโ€™s business

How could you say that Yaakov's main dwelling place is by them, ื•ืœื ื‘ืžืงื•ื ืื”ืœื” ืฉืœ ืชื•ืจื” ืขืฆืžื”, and not in the place of Torah itself? It's a peleh to say that Zevulun, which represents business, should be the place of Yaakov, which is Torah. ื•ื‘ืคืจื˜ ืขืœ ืคื™ ื“ื™ื•ืง ืœืฉื•ืŸ ืจืฉ\"ื™, and certainly when we look at the exact words of Rashi, and he says ืขื™ืงืจ ื“ื™ืจืชื•. Doesn't say he'll have a dirah, the main dirah! ื›ื™ื•ืŸ ืฉื”ื•ื ื‘ื™ืช ื–ื‘ื•ืœ, because ื‘ื™ืช ื–ื‘ื•ืœ is not just plain a dirah, a dwelling place, it's the ikar! ืฉื™ืฉ ืœื•ืžืจ ืฉื–ื”ื• ื”ื—ื™ื“ื•ืฉ ื‘ื‘ื™ืช ื–ื‘ื•ืœ ืœื’ื‘ื™ ื“ื™ืจื”, this is bichlal, the Rebbe said you could say, the chiddush of the word ื–ื‘ื•ืœ over the word dirah. ืกืชื ื“ื™ืจื”, when you say stam the word a dirah is a is a a place you live, ื™ืฉ ื‘ื” ืžืฉืžืขื•ืช ื’ื ื“ื™ืจืช ืขืจืื™, that also includes if it's a temporary dirah. If you live someplace temporarily, it's also a dirah. ืžื” ืฉืื™ืŸ ื›ืŸ ื–ื‘ื•ืœ ืžื•ืจื” ืขืœ ื‘ื™ืช ืงื‘ื•ืข. ื–ื‘ื•ืœ means a permanent place, ื›ื“ืจืš ื”ืœืฉื•ืŸ ื‘ื™ืช ื–ื‘ื•ืœ ื‘ื ื•ื’ืข ืœื‘ื™ืช ื”ืžืงื“ืฉ, like we find the word ื‘ื™ืช ื–ื‘ื•ืœ by the ื‘ื™ืช ื”ืžืงื“ืฉ. What was the lashon he said? ื‘ื ื” ื‘ื ื™ืชื™ ื‘ื™ืช ื–ื‘ื•ืœ ืœืš, I I built for you, he says, a ื‘ื™ืช ื–ื‘ื•ืœ, ืžื›ื•ืŸ ืœืฉื‘ืชืš ืขื•ืœืžื™ื, a place where you will sit forever! So ื‘ื™ืช ื–ื‘ื•ืœ means forever. ืฉื ืงืจื ื‘ื™ืช ื–ื‘ื•ืœ, why was it called ื‘ื™ืช ื–ื‘ื•ืœ? ืœื”ื™ื•ืชื• ื“ื™ืจืช ืงื‘ืข ืฉืœ ื”ืงื“ื•ืฉ ื‘ืจื•ืš ื”ื•ื, a permanent place of the Eibershter, ื‘ืื•ืคืŸ ืฉืœ ืžื›ื•ืŸ ืœืฉื‘ืชืš ืขื•ืœืžื™ื, that's the place we're going to be, ืขื•ืœืžื™ื means forever, ื“ื™ืจื” ื ืฆื—ื™ืช, an eternal ื“ื™ืจื”. ื›ืœื•ืžืจ, so when we use the same word ื–ื‘ื•ืœ to Zevulun, and that's the dwelling place of Yaakov, it means that ื—ืฉื™ื‘ื•ืช ืขื ื™ื ื• ืฉืœ ื–ื‘ื•ืœื•ืŸ ืื™ื ื” ืจืง ื›ื“ื™ืจืช ืกืชื, the ื—ืฉื™ื‘ื•ืช, the importance of ื–ื‘ื•ืœื•ืŸ ืœื’ื‘ื™ where Yaakov will live, it's not just temporary. It's important, so temporary you're there, ื“ื™ืจืช ืขืจืื™, temporary ื“ื™ืจื”, ืืœื ื”ื™ื ืงืฉื•ืจื” ืขื ืขื™ืงืจ ื“ื™ืจืชื•, ื“ื™ืจืช ืงื‘ืข ืฉืœ ื™ืขืงื‘. That's the most important part, and that's a ืคืœื. If the ืขื™ืงืจ of Yaakov is Torah, how do we say that his main ื“ื™ืจื” will be with Zevulun, which is business? ืืžื ื, he says, in truth, ืžืฆื™ื ื• ื“ื•ื’ืžืช ืขื ื™ืŸ ื–ื” ื’ื ื‘ื—ื™ื™ ื™ืขืงื‘ ืขืฆืžื•. When we look at Yaakov himself, it's not so ืคืฉื•ื˜, we find a similar thing. We said before Yaakov is

Jacobโ€™s years serving Lavan as a lesson

Torah. So let's look into Yaakov's life. So Yaakov, the main thing is Torah, but not so ืคืฉื•ื˜. ื‘ืคืจืฉืชื ื• ืžืกื•ืคืจ ื‘ืืจื•ื›ื”, ืคืจืฉืช ื•ื™ืฆื, it says length, ืขืœ ื“ื‘ืจ ืฉื”ื™ื™ืช ื™ืขืงื‘ ื‘ื‘ื™ืช ืœื‘ืŸ ื›' ืฉื ื”, who was in Lavan's house 20 years, ืฉื‘ืžืฉืš ื–ืžืŸ ื–ื” ืœื›ืื•ืจื” ืœื ื”ื™ื” ื ืžืฆื ื‘ื“' ืืžื•ืช ืฉืœ ืชื•ืจื”. At that time, ื‘ืคืฉื˜ื•ืช, he wasn't in ื™ืฉื™ื‘ื”, he wasn't learning ืชื•ืจื”, ืืœื ื”ื™ื” ืขื•ืกืง ื‘ืžืจืขื” ืฆืืŸ ืœื‘ืŸ. He was involved in grazing the sheep of Lavan. ื•ืžืชืื™ื ืœื“ื™ื ื™ ื”ืชื•ืจื”, and according to the ื”ืœื›ื•ืช of ืชื•ืจื”, ื”ื™ื” ืขื•ืกืง ื‘ืื•ืคืŸ ืฉื‘ื›ืœ ื›ื•ื—ื™ ืขื‘ื“ืชื™, ื‘ื™ื•ื ื•ื‘ืœื™ืœื”. He worked, and he was an honest worker, so he worked day and night. ื•ื›ืžื• shehaRambam, the Rambam says from Yaakov's way of working for Lavan, we learn out how an employee has to work for an employer: never to stop, got to work day and night. And that's exactly what he did. So he was so busy there. And it's an halacha. Halacha says there's a whole she'eilah in bentshen when you eat in the middle of working, can you bentsh the whole bentching? Gemara. Because if you bentsh the whole bentching, you're taking away a few minutes, and it's not your time, the time of baal habayit. So that's what Yaakov did. So here was 20 years working for Lavan the way a Yid is supposed to work, which means day and night. That's what he said, day and night. \"How many years how many years was he working for Lavan before he married Leah?\" Seven. Seven. \"That's 21.\" Seven and seven. That's 14 and six. \"He worked seven for...\" No, no. For Rachel he worked seven. So seven and seven, and after that, for when after he married Rachel, not after, after he finished the seven years for Rachel, he worked now to get the spotted sheep. That was six years, that was for himself, that's, yes. \"How long was he by Lavan before he married Leah?\" Seven years, no, so he worked seven years and married Leah, then right away he married Rachel. First he came and he worked for seven years before he married Leah. He worked for seven years, then he got Leah. \"That's 14 years.\" No! Seven years before, before he married Leah, but he was by Lavan, no? \"Before he even made the deal to marry...\" He was there a month. Yeah, that was nothing, that's a month. But he was there seven years. He made a deal with Lavan, \"I'll marry I'll work seven years, I'll marry I'll marry Rachel,\" and he cheated him and gave him Leah. So he worked for seven years, right after that he married Rachel right away, a week later. But then he worked seven years after that for that. After that, Yosef was born, he said, \"I want to leave,\" so he begged him to stay. He stayed, made a deal with him that he's going to keep the sheep with the spots, with the stripes, and he worked for another six years. So he worked for 20 years for Lavan. \"Is this supposed to be a setirah to his Torah learning? You always see that they choose to be ืจื•ืขื™ ืฆืืŸ so they can sit and study Torah all day.\" Yeah, but it's working. As much as he studied, what does what does the Midrash say what did he do then? He said Tehillim. \"Chazara, chazara.\" He said Tehillim. \"Where?\" Bei Lavan, that's what he did when he was sheep... \"ื•ืžื ื™ืŸ ื”ื™ื” ืจื•ืขื”...\" \"...ืฉื ื ืจืขื”...\" Yeah, the Eibishter made a nes, that's something else, but he didn't learn the whole time. It says that why were they ืจื•ืขื™ ืฆืืŸ, so they should be davuk to the Aibishter, but not to learn Torah. Doesn't mean they should learn Torah. It should be because their mind shouldn't wander with all the ื’ืฉืžื™ื•ืชื“ื™ืงืข things going on, but he was busy taking care. \"Tefillah.\" No, in klal, we say Tehillim, Tehillim is Yiddishkeit, Elokus, but the specific concept of learning, he learned much less then. \"He was davenen.\" Saying Tehillim. \"The sticks were all about davenen, like tefillin, no?\" Yeah, so it's all ืจื•ื—ื ื™ื•ืชื“ื™ืงืข, ื“ื‘ื™ืงื•ืช to Elokus, that's all it is, in all, I mean that's it. \"That's all the work was?\" No, work was he yelled, but this was dveikus to Elokus. The actual sitting and learning, he didn't wasn't sitting and learning. That was a nes, yeah, the Aibishter did, yeah. Huh? Parnasah? Parnasah means ืžืชื‘ืจื›ืช. Anyway, so we see he worked for 20 years by Lavan and he really worked. ื•ืžื›ืœ ืžืงื•ื, still ืœื ื–ื• ื‘ืœื‘ื“ ืฉื“ื•ื•ืงื ื‘ืขืช ื”ื–ืืช ื–ื›ื” ืœ'ื•ื™ืคืจื•ืฅ ื”ืื™ืฉ ืžืื“ ืžืื“', not only that at that time that's when he was zocheh to grow so much, ืžืื“ ืžืื“, which is ื”ืฆืœื—ื” ืœืžืขืœื” ืžืžื™ื“ืช ื”ื’ื‘ืœื”, it's ื”ืฆืœื—ื”, success beyond any limitations, ื‘' ืคืขืžื™ื 'ืžืื“', twice the word ืžืื“. ืžืื“ means very, ื‘ืœื™ ื’ื‘ื•ืœ, ื•ืžื•ื‘ืŸ, we understand, ืฉื–ื” ื›ื•ืœืœ ื’ื ื•ืื“ืจื‘ื” ื‘ืขื™ืงืจ ื”ืฆืœื—ื” ืจื•ื—ื ื™ืช. Not only ืคืฉื•ื˜ื• ื›ืžืฉืžืขื• it means ื‘ื’ืฉืžื™ื•ืช, became very rich, but the fact that he became rich ื‘ื’ืฉืžื™ื•ืช certainly means, and ืื“ืจื‘ื” even more, became rich ื‘ืจื•ื—ื ื™ื•ืช. ื•ื‘ืคืจื˜, especially when we're talking about the ืื‘ื•ืช, ืฉื”ื™ื• ืžืจื›ื‘ื” ืœืจืฆื•ื ื• ื”ืขืœื™ื•ืŸ ื›ืœ ื™ืžื™ื”ื, that they were a merkavah, they were batel to the Aibishter's ratzon all their life. That means the main thing by them was not gashmiyus, but ruchniyut. So when we say he was very successful, it obviously must mean beruchniyut. ื•ืžื›ืœ ืฉื›ืŸ ื‘ืฉืืจ ื”ืฆื“ื™ืงื™ื, a kal vachomer from other ืฆื“ื™ืงื™ื, ืฉื—ื™ื™ื”ื ืื™ื ื ื—ื™ื™ื ื‘ืฉืจื™ื™ื ืืœื ื—ื™ื™ื ืจื•ื—ื ื™ื™ื, like the Alter Rebbe says in Tanya, all tzadikim, their life is not physical life, but ruchniyut. ื‘ื™ื™ ื™ืขืงื‘ it means for sure. So not only that he was very successful begashmiyut and beruchniyut to reach higher ืžื“ืจื’ื•ืช ื“ื•ื•ืงื there, ืืœื ืขื•ื“ ื–ื”, it's more than that, ื“ื•ื•ืงื ื‘ื‘ื™ืช ืœื‘ืŸ ื”ืขืžื™ื“ ื™ืขืงื‘ ืืช ืฉื‘ื˜ื™ ื™ืฉืจืืœ, he established the shevatim. which ืœื‘ื“ Binyamin, Binyamin was born later, but most of them, ื•ื™ืกื“ ืืช ื‘ื™ืชื•, and he established his house which is ื‘ื™ืช ื™ืฉืจืืœ, the Jewish nation, ืฉื›ืœ ืื—ื“ ื•ืื—ื“ ืžื”ื ื™ืฉ ืœื• ื ืฉืžื” ืงื“ื•ืฉื” ื›ืœื•ืœื” ื‘ื ืฉืžืช ื™ืขืงื‘, every Yid has a holy neshama that comes from Yaakov, was ื›ืœื•ืœ in ื™ืขืงื‘, ืฉื–ื”ื• ืžืขืœืชื• ืฉืœ ื™ืขืงื‘, that's what we always say the greatness of ื™ืขืงื‘, ื‘ื—ื™ืจ ื”ืื‘ื•ืช, he was the chosen one of amongst the ืื‘ื•ืช, ืฉืžื™ื˜ืชื• ืฉืœื™ืžื”, his bed, which means his children were all complete, ืœื ื›ืื‘ืจื”ื ื•ื™ืฆื—ืง ืฉื™ืฆืื• ืžื”ื ื™ืฉืžืขืืœ ื•ืขืฉื™ื•, not like Avraham and Yitzchak that they had Yishmael and Esav, and they ื™ืฆืื•, Chassidut explains, not only they came out of them, they went away from them. So he didn't have success, but Yaakov did. Where did he get his success? His main thing was Torah, so it would make sense all that should happen when he learned Torah. When did it happen? When he was working. ืฉืื™ื ื• ืžื•ื‘ืŸ, to understand, ืื™ืš ื–ื”, how is it, ืฉื‘ื”ืฆืœื—ื” ื”ืจื•ื—ื ื™ืช, his great ืจื•ื—ื ื™ื•ืชื“ื™ืงืข ื”ืฆืœื—ื”, ื”ื’ื™ืข ื™ืขืงื‘ ืœื ื‘ืขืช ื”ื™ื•ืชื• ืขื•ืกืง ื‘ืชื•ืจื” ื•ื›ื•ืœื™, not at the time was learning ืชื•ืจื”, ืืœื ื“ื•ื•ืงื ื›ืฉื”ื™ื” ืคื•ืขืœ, when he was a worker, and where was he working? ื‘ื™ืช ืœื‘ืŸ. So we see, so it's some similar to what we asked, we asked a kushya, we know Yaakov's inyan is Torah. On the other hand, we find that what is his main dirah, working? So he says, yeah, look at his life, it's the same thing, we know his inyan is Torah, and still where did he gain his greatest ืžื“ืจื’ื•ืช, when he was working. What's the pshat? So we just brought an example and shown that that's how it was by Yaakov, but it's not an explanation. We know the fact, okay, we see the fact, but what's the ื”ืกื‘ืจื”? Shouldn't it be by Torah? ื•ื™ืฉ ืœื•ืžืจ, ื ืงื•ื“ืช ื”ืขื ื™ืŸ ื‘ื–ื”, so he explains it like this: ืืžืจื• ื—ื–''ืœ ืฆื“ื™ืงื™ื ื“ื•ืžื™ื ืœื‘ื•ืจืื, the Chazal say tzadikim are similar to their Creator, to the Oibershter. ื•ืขืœ ืคื™ ื–ื” ืžื•ื‘ืŸ, for this we understand, ืฉื”ืกื‘ืจืช ืขื ื™ืŸ ืขื™ืงืจ ื“ื™ืจืชื• ืฉืœ ื™ืขืงื‘, that when we want to explain what does it mean the main ื“ื™ืจื” of ื™ืขืงื‘, ื”ืจื™ ื‘ื”ื›ืจื— ืœื•ืžืจ ืฉื”ื•ื ื›ืขื™ืŸ ื“ื™ืจืชื• ืฉืœ ื”ืงื“ื•ืฉ ื‘ืจื•ืš ื”ื•ื. Since tzadikim are like the Oibershter, so let's find what is the ื“ื™ืจื” of the Oibershter. And whatever we'll find as an explanation to the ื“ื™ืจื” of the Oibershter, then we'll be able to apply it to Yaakov because he's a tzadik and whatever by the Oibershter happens, happens to him. Now, ื‘ื ื•ื’ืข what is the ื“ื™ืจื” of the Oibershter, okay, here we don't have to even go further, ask any little kid in Lubavitch, any, ask any Lubavitcher, any little baby, they'll ask you, where's the ื“ื™ืจื” of the Oibershter? ื ืชืื•ื” ื”ืงื“ื•ืฉ ื‘ืจื•ืš ื”ื•ื ืœื”ื™ื•ืช ืœื• ื“ื™ืจื”, he needs a ื“ื™ืจื”, ืœื• ื™ืชื‘ืจืš ื‘ืชื—ืชื•ื ื™ื. The Oibershter wants a dwelling, a ื“ื™ืจื”. Where is his ื“ื™ืจื”? Down here. Which right away we see this the key to the answer. Because the Oibershter's

Divine dwelling in the lower physical world

ื“ื™ืจื” is, you'd think, ืขื•ืœืžื•ืช ืขืœื™ื•ื ื™ื, ืจื•ื—ื ื™ื•ืชื“ื™ืงืข ืžื“ืจื’ื•ืช, Torah, ืขื•ืœืžื•ืช, and it's davka in this world, ื‘ืชื—ืชื•ื ื™ื, which is the difference between someone who learns all day and someone who works. Someone who works is ื‘ืชื—ืชื•ื ื™ื, gets involved in, anyway, we'll get to it. ื›ืœื•ืžืจ, it means like this: ื“ื™ืจืชื• ืฉืœ ื”ืงื“ื•ืฉ ื‘ืจื•ืš ื”ื•ื ืื™ื ื” ื‘ืขื•ืœืžื•ืช ืขืœื™ื•ื ื™ื, the Oibershter's ื“ื™ืจื” is not in higher worlds, ืฉื”ื ืขื•ืœืžื•ืช ืจื•ื—ื ื™ื™ื, spiritual worlds, ืืœื ื“ื•ื•ืงื ื‘ืขื•ืœื ื”ื–ื” ื”ื’ืฉืžื™ ื”ืชื—ืชื•ืŸ, this low physical world, ื•ืขื“ ืฉ, ื›ืžื• ืฉื›ืชื•ื‘, Rabbeinu HaZaken, the Alter Rebbe writes, ืฉื”ื•ื ืชื—ืชื•ืŸ ื‘ืžื“ืจื’ื” ืฉืื™ืŸ ืชื—ืชื•ืŸ ืœืžื˜ื” ื”ื™ืžื ื•, the lowest madreiga possible. And that's where the ืื•ื™ื‘ืขืจืฉื˜ืขืจ's ื“ื™ืจื” is. And how do we get, how does the ืื•ื™ื‘ืขืจืฉื˜ืขืจ get a ื“ื™ืจื” like that? ื•ื–ื•ื”ื™ ื”ื›ื•ื•ื ื” ื•ื”ืžื˜ืจื” ืฉืœ ืขื‘ื•ื“ืช ื‘ื ื™ ื™ืฉืจืืœ ื‘ื›ืœืœ, this is bichlal what the Yidden have to do always, from the beginning on, ื•ื‘ืคืจื˜ ื›ืœ ืžืฉืš ื–ืžืŸ ื”ื’ืœื•ืช, certainly in the time of ื’ืœื•ืช, ืฉืขืœ ื™ื“ื™ ืขื‘ื•ื“ืชื ื‘ื‘ื™ืจื•ืจ ื•ื–ื™ื›ื•ืš ื”ืขื•ืœื, by us purifying and elevating the world. And how do we do that? ื‘ืขืฉื™ื™ืช ืžืฆื•ืช ื‘ื“ื‘ืจื™ื ื’ืฉืžื™ื™ื, doing mitzvot with physical things, ื•ื›ืŸ ืขืฉื™ื™ืช ื›ืœ ืžืขืฉื™ืš ืœืฉื ืฉืžื™ื, doing our own things, not mitzvot, our own physical needs, but doing it with the proper intentions ืœืฉื ืฉืžื™ื, ืฉืขืœ ื™ื“ื™ ื–ื” ืžืงื“ืฉื™ื ืืช ื”ื“ื‘ืจื™ื ื”ื’ืฉืžื™ื™ื ืฉื‘ื”ื ืขื•ื‘ื“ื™ื ืืช ื”ืฉื, and we make the ื’ืฉืžื™ื•ืชื“ื™ืงืข things holy, those things that we use to serve Hashem become holy. So

Elevating the physical through holy intent

what are we doing? We're taking ื’ืฉืžื™ื•ืช and making it holy. So through this, ื ืขืฉื” ื”ืขื•ืœื ื›ืœื™ ื”ืจืื•ื™ ืœืงื“ื•ืฉื” ืขืœื™ื•ื ื”, makes the world a vessel for the ืื•ื™ื‘ืขืจืฉื˜ืขืจ's holy kedushah. ื•ื‘ื’ืžืจ ืขื‘ื•ื“ื” ื–ื•, it says when it'll be finished, ื‘ื‘ื™ืืช ืžืฉื™ื—, ื™ื”ื™ื” ื›ืœ ื”ืขื•ืœื ื›ื•ืœื• ื“ื™ืจื” ืœื• ื™ืชื‘ืจืš. The whole world will become a ื“ื™ืจื”. Meanwhile, it's not, but we're working towards it. But how are we working towards, but the ืื•ื™ื‘ืขืจืฉื˜ืขืจ wants a ื“ื™ืจื” in ืชื—ืชื•ื ื™ื. How do you make it? How will it happen? Eventually when we'll finish. But what are we going to finish? What are we doing? Doing mitzvot with ื’ืฉืžื™ื•ืช. Not only that, drinking tea and making a berachah, and making a berachah acharonah, and drinking the tea so it should be easier to say the ืฉื™ื—ื”, so if you do that, so then we're elevating the tea. So this is a form of what we're doing towards making a ื“ื™ืจื” ื‘ืชื—ืชื•ื ื™ื. So now, ื•ื‘ื–ื” ืžื•ื‘ืŸ ื”ืงืฉืจ ื‘ื™ืŸ ืฉื ื™ ื”ืขื ื™ื ื™ื ืฉื‘ื–ื‘ื•ืœื•ืŸ. Now we could see the connection between the two things by Zevulun. Number one, Shem Zevulun ืžืœืฉื•ืŸ ื‘ื™ืช ื–ื‘ื•ืœ, ื“ื™ืจืช ืงื‘ืข, the name Zevulun which means it's said for ื‘ื™ืช ื–ื‘ื•ืœ, which means this is the permanent dwelling place. And ืขื ื™ื ื• ืฉืœ ื–ื‘ื•ืœื•ืŸ, the ืขื ื™ืŸ of Zevulun which is ื‘ืขืœ ืขืกืง, which is business, ื•ืœื ื™ื•ืฉื‘ ืื•ื”ืœ. So we see why the inyan of the ื“ื™ืจื” is davka by business. Why? ื›ื™ ื”ืžืฉื›ืช ื”ืงื“ื•ืฉื” ื‘ื’ืฉืžื™ื•ืช ื”ืขื•ืœื, because to bring kedushah into the ื’ืฉืžื™ื•ืช, ืื™ื– ื“ืืš ืขืœ ื™ื“ื™ ื“ืืก ื•ื•ืืก ืขืจ ื”ืื˜ ืขืกืงื™ื. Who brings kedushah in gashmiyut? The one who sits and learns Torah all day? They're not involved in gashmiyut. I mean, they eat, they drink. But the people who do business, ืฉืขืœ ื™ื“ื™ ืฉืขื•ืกืงื™ื ื‘ืขื ื™ื ื™ื ื’ืฉืžื™ื™ื ืฉืœ ื”ืขื•ืœื ืœืฉื ืฉืžื™ื, by them getting involved all day in the business of the world, but they do it ืœืฉื ืฉืžื™ื, ื•ืžืงื™ื™ืžื™ื ื‘ื”ื ืžืฆื•ืช, and they use it to do mitzvot, that is, they take the money that they are involved and give ืฆื“ืงื”, ืขื•ืฉื™ื ืืช ื”ืขื•ืœื ื”ื–ื” ื”ื’ืฉืžื™ ื“ื™ืจื” ืœื”ืงื“ื•ืฉ ื‘ืจื•ืš ื”ื•ื, and that's how you make a ื“ื™ืจื”. So who makes the ื“ื™ืจื” to the Aibershter? Not Yissachar. It's Zevulun, because he The ื“ื™ืจื” is in ืชื—ืชื•ื ื™ื, in the low, and he does it. Through the avodah of Zevulun becomes a ื‘ื™ืช ื–ื‘ื•ืœ. So right away, this explains why the word ื–ื‘ื•ืœ, which is a ื“ื™ืจื”, is connected to person Zevulun or the Shevet Zevulun, because that's what they do. This is the

Why Torah Highlights Business People Before Yissachar

reason why the Torah mentions first the people who do business, the people who work, before Yissachar, which represent the people who learn Torah. Like the pasuk says, ืฉืžื— ื–ื‘ื•ืœืŸ ื‘ืฆืืชืš ื•ืื—ืจ ื›ืš ื•ื™ืฉืฉื›ืจ ื‘ืื”ืœื™ืš. First it says let Zevulun be happy, then it says Yissachar be happy. Like we said, ืื•ืช ื ืดื‘ ืกืขื™ืฃ ื‘ืณ. Why? Now we understand it. ื›ื™ ืฉื‘ืขื ื™ืŸ ืขืฉื™ื™ืช ื“ื™ืจื” ืœื”ืงื“ื•ืฉ ื‘ืจื•ืš ื”ื•ื, because when we talk about making this dwelling place for ื”ืฉื, ืฉื–ื”ื• ื‘ืชื—ืชื•ื ื™ื ื“ื•ื•ืงื, which is davka in this world, ื‘ื’ืฉืžื™ื•ืช ื”ืขื•ืœื, ื“ื•ื•ืงื in the ืฉืื™ืŸ ืชื—ืชื•ืŸ ืœืžื˜ื” ืžืžื ื•, there's no lower world, legabei that ืคืจื˜, ื™ืฉ ื™ืชืจื•ืŸ ืœืขื‘ื•ื“ืช ื–ื‘ื•ืœื•ืŸ ืขืœ ืขื‘ื•ื“ืช ื™ืฉืฉื›ืจ. You know, Zevulun does more. Zevulun is the one that brings Elokut into gashmiyut. V'yesh lomar, that could be the reason, ืฉื–ื”ื• ื”ื˜ืขื ืฉื ืจืื”, you could say this is the reason why we see, ื›ื™ ืขื“ ื‘ื•ื ื”ื–ืžืŸ ืฉืžืœืื›ืชืŸ ื ืขืฉื™ืช ืขืœ ื™ื“ื™ ืื—ืจื™ื ื•ืœืื—ืจ ื‘ื™ืืช ืžืฉื™ื—, till the time Mashiach will come, when Mashiach will come, it says we won't have to work, the goyim will do the work for us, but till then, ืจื•ื‘ ื‘ื ื™ ื™ืฉืจืืœ ื”ื ื‘ืขืœื™ ืขืกืง. Most people, most Yidden are business people, working people, ื•ืœื ื™ื•ืฉื‘ื™ ืื”ืœ. They're not. And this is the way the Aibershter set it up, it's not just a bad thing, that's the way the Aibershter made it. And the

Gemaraโ€™s Debate: Rabbi Yishmael vs Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai

Gemara says, ื•ื‘ืœืฉื•ืŸ ื—ื–ืดืœ, and Chazal say: ื”ืจื‘ื” ืขืฉื• ื›ืจื‘ื™ ื™ืฉืžืขืืœ ื•ืขืœืชื” ื‘ื™ื“ืŸ, ื›ืจืฉื‘ืดื™ ื•ืœื ืขืœืชื” ื‘ื™ื“ืŸ. It says like this, a machloket between Rabbi Yishmael and Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai. Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai says: never work, don't work, because if you work, Torah, what's going to happen to the Torah? After he came out of the cave it's not like that... After he came out of the... Like if that didn't change though? Of the cave, no, he said before. How could you work? What's going to happen to the Torah? Work, and learn Torah all day. Then Rabbi Yishmael says: No, no, you got to work. What do you think, how are things going to happen? The Gemara says, ื”ืจื‘ื” ืขืฉื• ื›ืจื‘ื™ ืฉืžืขื•ืŸ ื‘ืจ ื™ื•ื—ืื™ ื•ืœื ืขืœืชื” ื‘ื™ื“ืŸ, many people tried to do like Rashbi, it didn't go. ื”ืจื‘ื” ืขืฉื• ื›ืจื‘ื™ ื™ืฉืžืขืืœ ื•ืขืœืชื” ื‘ื™ื“ืŸ, like Rabbi Yishmael, it did. Harbeh, that means that the way the Aibershter set up the world that most people are not sitting and learning Torah all day, they work. And ืชื•ืจื” ืขืœ ื”ืจื•ื‘ ืชื“ื‘ืจ, ืชื•ืจื” always takes into consideration the majority. So why is this? Why did the Aibershter, wouldn't it make sense the Aibershter should make it that most people should learn Torah? The answer is, ื›ื™ ืœื”ืฉืœื™ื ืžื˜ืจื” ื–ื•, because to reach the goal, ืœืขืฉื•ืช ื”ืขื•ืœื ื”ื–ื” ื”ืชื—ืชื•ืŸ ื“ื™ืจื” ืœื• ื™ืชื‘ืจืš, the goal of making this low world a dirah for ื”ืฉื, ื–ื” ื ืขืฉื” ืขืœ ื™ื“ื™ ื–ื‘ื•ืœื•ืŸ ื“ื•ื•ืงื. That comes through Zevulun. And that's why most of the people are Zevulun, because that's the most important part. ืขืœ ืคื™ ื”ื ืดืœ, ื™ื•ื‘ืŸ ื‘ื ื•ื’ืข ืœื™ืขืงื‘, come to ื‘ื ื•ื’ืข ืœื™ืขืงื‘. This will explain ื‘ื ื•ื’ืข ืœื™ืขืงื‘ also. Number one, ื›ื™ื•ื•ืŸ ืฉื“ื™ืจืชื• ืฉืœ ื”ืงื“ื•ืฉ ื‘ืจื•ืš ื”ื•ื ื‘ืชื—ืชื•ื ื™ื ื“ื•ื•ืงื, since Hashem's main dwelling place, ikar dwelling place is in the ืชื—ืชื•ื ื™ื, in the low place, ืœื›ืŸ ื’ื ืงื‘ื™ืขืช ืขื™ืงืจ ื“ื™ืจืชื• ืฉืœ ื™ืขืงื‘, ืฉื–ื” ืขื™ืงืจ ื“ื™ืจื”, ืžื•ื‘ืŸ ื“ืงืฉื•ืจื” ื“ื•ื•ืงื ืœืขื ื™ื ื• ืฉืœ ื–ื‘ื•ืœื•ืŸ. Since tzaddikim are like Hashem, and by the Eibershter, His main dirah is in Zevulun, so Yaakov's main dirah is also in Zevulun, avodah ื‘ื’ืฉืžื™ื•ืช ื”ืขื•ืœื. That's why that's The kashya was in the beginning, why is the main dirah of Yaakov is Zevulun? For this reason. And the

Jacobโ€™s Highest Achievements Linked to Zevulunโ€™s Work

second thing we said, that we see in the life of Yaakov, that where did he reach the highest madregot, where did he raise, set up Klal Yisrael? Davka when working, for the same reason. That also ืคืขื•ืœืชื• ื‘ื”ืขืžื“ืช ื”ืฉื‘ื˜ื™ื, his work to set up the ืฉื‘ื˜ื™ื, ืฉื–ื” ื”ื™ื” ื™ืกื•ื“ ืฉืœ ืขื ื™ืฉืจืืœ, which is the foundation of ืขื ื™ืฉืจืืœ, ื”ื™ืชื” ื“ื•ื•ืงื ื‘ื—ืจืŸ, ื“ื•ื•ืงื working, where? Working in Charan. Why was it called Charan? Because Charan is ื—ืจื•ืŸ ืืคื• ืฉืœ ืžืงื•ื ื‘ืขื•ืœื, it's the place in the world where Hashem was angry with. ื‘ืžืงื•ื ืฉืื™ืŸ ืชื—ืชื•ืŸ ืœืžื˜ื” ืžืžื ื•, a real ืชื—ืชื•ืŸ, not only ืชื—ืชื•ืŸ of worlds, in ืชื—ืชื•ืŸ it was ืชื—ืชื•ืŸ, ืชื—ืชื•ืŸ ืฉื‘ืชื—ืชื•ืŸ. ื•ื‘ื–ืžืŸ, and what at a time, what did he do? ื›ืืฉืจ ืื•ืคืŸ ืขื‘ื•ื“ืชื• ืฉืœ ื™ืขืงื‘ ื‘ืขืฆืžื• ื”ื™ื” ื‘ื“ื•ืžื” ืœืขื‘ื•ื“ืชื• ืฉืœ ื–ื‘ื•ืœื•ืŸ, a time when he was involved in working like ื–ื‘ื•ืœื•ืŸ, ืœื ื™ื•ืฉื‘ ืื”ืœ ืืœื ืคื•ืขืœ ื‘ื‘ื™ืช ืœื‘ืŸ, and he was working. Why was that where he reached the highest madregot and that's where he set up Klal Yisrael? Because that's more important than the ื™ื•ืฉื‘ ืื”ืœ. Okay. Is He dwelling, is it, is He there sometimes in the world while it's being prepared for Him? Not fully, but yeah. Not fully. Not fully. So lichorah, huh? Temporary dirah you said? No, it's, it's not a permanent, it's not finished yet, in other words, you're living in temporary. Temporary dirah. Temporary. Dirah because this is the the the lead-up to the that this itself will become the permanent dirah. So it's a dirah. Is there a diuk that he was a merchant, Zevulun merchant marines on the water as opposed to most of us are on the land? By sea, by land, by air as well. ื”ื‘ืืžืช the if we even before we go in the ืฉื™ื—ื” further, we see right away that the kashya is not 100% answered. Why? We're not looking, what is the ma'alah of Zevulun, and why is Zevulun the dwelling place, that wasn't the kashya. The kashya was, if his inyan is Torah, so this could be greater. But why is this ื‘ื™ืช ื–ื‘ื•ืœ of Yaakov which is ืขื ื™ืŸ ื”ืชื•ืจื”? That's going to be the main thing to answer now. ืื‘ืœ ืœื›ืื•ืจื” ืขื“ื™ื™ืŸ ื—ืกืจ ื‘ื™ืื•ืจ. We still need biur. Sof kol, after all, ื”ืจื™ ืขื ื™ื ื• ืฉืœ ื™ืขืงื‘ ื”ื•ื ืชื•ืจื”, ืขื ื™ืŸ ื”ืชื•ืจื”, like we analyzed before. Vechayadua, we know the ืขื ื™ืŸ ื’' ืขืžื•ื“ื™ื ืฉื”ืขื•ืœื, the ืขื•ืœื ืขื•ืžื“ on, you know, concerning the three pillars where the world stands on: ืชื•ืจื”, ื•ืขื‘ื•ื“ื”, ื•ื’ืžื™ืœื•ืช ื—ืกื“ื™ื, ืฉื”ื ื›ื ื’ื“ ื’' avot, it's before three avot, and Avraham is ื’ืžื™ืœื•ืช ื—ืกื“ื™ื, ื™ืฆื—ืง is avodah, and ื™ืขืงื‘ ื›ื ื’ื“ ืงื• ื”ืชื•ืจื”, ื™ืขืงื‘ is Torah. Im kein, so therefore, ืืฃ ืฉื™ืฉ ื™ืชืจื•ืŸ ืžืขืœื” ื‘ื–ื‘ื•ืœื•ืŸ, even though we explained highly now that there is a ma'alah in businessmen over those that sit and learn ืชื•ืจื”, ืœื’ื‘ื™ making a ื“ื™ืจื” ื‘ืชื—ืชื•ื ื™ื, ืžื›ืœ ืžืงื•ื ืื™ืŸ ื–ื” ื˜ืขื, ืœื›ืื•ืจื” there is still not a reason, ืฉืžืขืœื” ื–ื• ืชื›ืจื™ืข ื‘ืงื‘ื™ืขืช ืขื™ืงืจ ืžืงื•ื ื“ื™ืจืชื• ืฉืœ ื™ืขืงื‘. Why is that the reason why the dirah of Yaakov should be there? Because Yaakov is Torah. And what's the connection to Yaakov? You say it's the most important place, fine. But the one that's involved in Torah, he's supposed to stick to Torah. Why is by him the main thing is business? Imagine if all the people who sit and learn Torah will say, \"Well, we gotta connect, we gotta go business.\" No, you're Torah, that has a ma'alah, I know the ma'alah, but we have to learn Torah. And Yaakov's inyan is Torah, so sof kol sof, after everything is said and done, why is Yaakov's inyan, you should say someone else's inyan, maybe, but Yaakov's inyan which is Torah, why is it? ื•ื™ื•ื‘ืŸ ื–ื”, so the Rebbe now explains this, ื‘ื”ืงื“ื ืชื•ืกืคืช ื‘ื™ืื•ืจ ื‘ืžืขืœืช ืขื‘ื•ื“ืช ื–ื‘ื•ืœื•ืŸ, by adding more biur in what he explained before, what is the specialty of Zevulun. So far we know the specialty of Zevulun is a ื“ื™ืจื” ื‘ืชื—ืชื•ื ื™ื. And that's higher than Yissachar, or that Torah, which doesn't make a ื“ื™ืจื” ื‘ืชื—ืชื•ื ื™ื. Avodah to a certain degree it does, if you learn Torah, you're learning gashmiyut here in the velt, true, but not the same way, so that's a maalah. Now

Zevulunโ€™s Work: Temporary Means Toward Eternal Goal

he's going to explain it's not that that's not the only maalah. And you'll see, come out, we'll see in a second, I'm not going to give away the this. ืฉื“ื•ื•ืงื ืขืœ ื™ื“ื™ ืขื‘ื•ื“ื” ื–ื• ื ืขืฉื” ื”ืขื•ืœื ื“ื™ืจื” ืœื• ื™ืชื‘ืจืš, to explain better what he said before, that davka through Zevulun you get a dirah for the Eibershter, and he's going to ask a strong kashya. ื“ืœื›ืื•ืจื” ืžืขืœืช ืขื ื™ื™ื ื• ืฉืœ ื–ื‘ื•ืœื•ืŸ ื”ื•ื ืจืง ื‘ืขืช ื”ืขื‘ื•ื“ื”, the maalah of Zevulun is that he makes a ื“ื™ืจื” ื‘ืชื—ืชื•ื ื™ื. How long is that going to last? Till Mashiach. Mashiach will come, we won't have to make a dirah, it's going to be here already. So it's only while they're working, ื›ืืฉืจ ืขื•ืกืงื™ื ืขื“ื™ื™ืŸ ื‘ื‘ื™ืจื•ืจ ื•ื–ื™ื›ื•ืš ืฉืœ ื”ืขื•ืœื, while we're still working to purify the world, ืœืขืฉื•ืชื ื›ืœื™ ืœืงื“ื•ืฉื”, to take the inyanim of the world and make them a keli for ืงื“ื•ืฉื”, ืขื“ ื•ื‘ื˜ืจื, till, and it's always before, ืฉื›ืœ ื”ืขื•ืœื ื›ื•ืœื• ื™ื™ื”ืคืš ืœื“ื™ืจื” ืœื• ื™ืชื‘ืจืš. This is all before the world will the whole world will turn into a dirah for Hashem. ืื‘ืœ ืœืื—ืจ ื’ืžืจ ื”ืขื‘ื•ื“ื”, after you finish, ื•ื™ืงื•ื™ื™ื ื”ื™ื™ืขื•ื“, and the promise of the Eibershter will be fulfilled, ื•ืืช ืจื•ื— ื”ื˜ื•ืžืื” ืืขื‘ื™ืจ ืžืŸ ื”ืืจืฅ, I'll take away any tumah of the world, ื”ืจื™ ืื–, then, ืื™ืŸ ืฆื•ืจืš ืœื›ืื•ืจื” ืœืขื‘ื•ื“ืชื• ืฉืœ ื–ื‘ื•ืœื•ืŸ. Then you don't need Zevulun. It's true, you won't have to work. ื•ื‘ืœืฉื•ืŸ Chazal, again, ืœืฉื•ืŸ of ื—ื–ืดืœ, ืžืœืื›ืชืŸ ื ืขืฉื™ืช ืขืœ ื™ื“ื™ ืื—ืจื™ื. And then we won't work, others will do our job for us. But we won't have to work. Why won't we have to work? Because there will be no need to make a ื“ื™ืจื” ื‘ืชื—ืชื•ื ื™ื, because it will have been accomplished already. ื•ืœื”ืขื™ืจ ืžืžืฉ ืฉื›ืชื‘ Admor Hazaken, yes, the Alter Rebbe writes even more, ืฉืœืขืชื™ื“ ืœื‘ื•ื ืœื ืชื”ื™ื” ืขื‘ื•ื“ื” ืœื‘ืจืจ ื˜ื•ื‘ ืžืŸ ื”ืจืข. ื‘ื›ืœืœ, we won't have ืœืขืชื™ื“ ืœื‘ื•ื to separate work on separating the good from the bad, ืืœื ืจืง ืขืœื™ื•ืช ื‘ืงื“ื•ืฉื” ื’ื•ืคื. Everything we'll do will be in kedushah. Because now most of avodah is mevarer. Mevarer means to separate and take out the good, then everything will be good, so we'll just go higher and higher. This is Mashiach's time, to be mevarer? Yeah, but even Mr. Slater said it will be only ืขืœื™ื•ืช ื‘ืงื“ื•ืฉื”. Yeah. It'll be ืขืœื™ื•ืช ื‘ืงื“ื•ืฉื”. Somehow, yeah. We won't do an aveirah, we won't have we won't even have a yetzer hara to do an aveirah, so there's no birur. So there's no mitzvot? So the mitzvah will still be with In other words, we won't eat chazir even though we won't want to. It'll be automatic. Yeah. Veyeteirah mizu, it's even more, ื”ืจื™ ื‘ื‘ื™ืืช ืžืฉื™ื— ืฆื“ืงื ื•, when Mashiach comes, ื™ื”ื™ื”, ื‘ืœืฉื•ืŸ Rambam, being like the Rambam says, ืขืกืง ื›ืœ ื”ืขื•ืœื ืœื“ืขืช ืืช ื”' ื‘ืœื‘ื“. The occupation of the whole world will be only to know Hashem. Which is ืชื•ืจืชื• ืื•ืžื ื•ืชื•, it's like the people who their whole occupation is Torah. So we're going to learn Torah. So it comes ืœื›ืื•ืจื”, it comes out, ืฉืขื‘ื•ื“ืช ื–ื‘ื•ืœื•ืŸ ืขื ื™ื™ืŸ ืืจืขื™, it comes out that the whole ืขื ื™ืŸ of Zevulun is a temporary thing. ื•ืื™ื ื• ื‘ืขื ื™ื™ืŸ ื”ื ืฆื—ื™ื•ืช, so it doesn't have the ืขื ื™ืŸ of eternity. ื•ื›ื™ืฆื“ ืžืชืื™ื, how is it possible, ืฉื“ื•ื•ืงื ืขืœ ื™ื“ื™ ืขื‘ื•ื“ืช ื–ื‘ื•ืœื•ืŸ ื”ื ื›ื™ืฆื“ ืขื‘ื•ื“ืช ื–ื‘ื•ืœื•ืŸ, which is a permanent a temporary thing, ื™ื”ื ื‘ื™ืช ื“ื™ืจื”, ืขื ื™ืŸ ื”ื“ื™ืจื”, ื‘ื™ืช ื–ื‘ื•ืœ, ื“ื™ืจืช ืงื‘ืข, ื›ื‘ื™ื›ื•ืœ ืœื”ืงื“ื•ืฉ ื‘ืจื•ืš ื”ื•ื, this will be the ื“ื™ืจืช ืงื‘ืข, the permanent ื“ื™ืจื”, where this is only a temporary thing, only till Mashiach? Well, bring Mashiach, but it will bring Mashiach, but then it'll be over. It's only basically what you're saying, it's only a means to an end. It's not an inyan in itself. ื•ื”ื™ื” ืžืกืชื‘ืจ ืœื•ืžืจ, so we have to say ืฉื“ื™ืจืช ืงื‘ืข ืฉืœ ื”ืงื“ื•ืฉ ื‘ืจื•ืš ื”ื•ื ืชื”ื™ื” ืขืœ ื™ื“ื™ ืขื ื™ืŸ ื”ืชื•ืจื”. It would make more sense that where is the ื“ื™ืจืช ืงื‘ืข of the Aibershter? You could say maybe nowadays the ื“ื™ืจื” of the Aibershter is in Zevulun because they prepare the world, but the ื“ื™ืจืช ืงื‘ืข forever, which should be Torah. ืฉื”ืชื•ืจื” ื”ื™ื ื ืฆื—ื™ืช, ืชื•ืจื” is forever, ื•ืœื ืชื”ื ืžื•ื—ืœืคืช, it will never be changed, ืขื•ืžื“ืช ืœืขื•ืœื ื•ืœืขื•ืœืžื™ ืขื•ืœืžื™ื, it will stay forever, so if you're saying what is the ื“ื™ืจืช ืงื‘ืข, the permanent eternal ื“ื™ืจื” of the Aibershter, is Torah. But why do we say that the eternal ื“ื™ืจื” is Zevulun when that's only a temporary thing? ื•ื™ืฉ ืœื•ืžืจ ื”ื‘ื™ืื•ืจ ื‘ื–ื”, so the Rebbe says the pshat could be like this. ื“ื™ืจื” of the ืื™ื™ื‘ืขืจืฉื˜ืขืจ, ืงื‘ืข ื•ื ืฆื—ื™, is obviously talking about something ื ืฆื—ื™, true. To say a permanent ื“ื™ืจื” could only be in a permanent in in a eternal ื“ื™ืจื” could be only in eternal things, which is Yisrael and Torah, could be only there. And the reason why? Because ืฉืœื”ื™ื•ืชื ื“ื‘ื•ืงื™ื ื‘ื”ืฉื, because they're connected to the ืื™ื™ื‘ืขืจืฉื˜ืขืจ, ื”ื ื ืฆื—ื™ื™ื. Yidden are forever, Torah is forever, so the ื“ื™ืจื” of the Aibershter could be there. ื•ืžื” ืฉื”ื“ื™ืจื” ื ืขืฉื™ืช ื“ื•ืงื ืขืœ ื™ื“ื™ ืขื‘ื•ื“ืช ื–ื‘ื•ืœื•ืŸ, the fact that the ื“ื™ืจื” becomes through ื–ื‘ื•ืœื•ืŸ, ื”ื•ื ืœื ืžืฉื•ื ืขืฆื ืคืขื•ืœืช ื–ื™ื›ื•ืš ื•ื‘ื™ืจื•ืจ ืฉืœ ื”ืขื•ืœื, ืฉื”ื•ื ืจืง ืขื ื™ืŸ ืขืจืื™ ื›ื \"ืœ. It's not only that because Zevulun prepares the world and elevates the world, prepares it to Mashiach, because if that would be the whole maalah of Zevulun, then it's only a temporary thing. ืืœื ืžืคื ื™, this is the main point here, ืฉืขืœ ื™ื“ื™ ืขื‘ื•ื“ื” ื–ื• ื‘ื ืœื™ื“ื™ ื’ื™ืœื•ื™ ื”ืชื•ืงืฃ ื•ื”ื ืฆื—ื™ื•ืช ืฉื‘ื™ืฉืจืืœ ื•ื‘ืชื•ืจื”. When we say that the real ื ืฆื—ื™ื•ืช, the real eternity, is by Yidden and Torah, when do we see or what brings out b'giluy the eternity of Torah, which is the place where the Aibershter will be, is ื“ื•ืงื when we have Zevulun first. Whatever is done, we'll explain it, whatever is done through Zevulun now, that makes that the Torah that will be ื ืฆื—ื™ is really ื ืฆื—ื™ is b'giluy. And that's why we say that the Aibershter's ื“ื™ืจื”, we'll explain it, before we even explain the Aibershter's ื“ื™ืจื” is Zevulun, because even though the Aibershter's ื“ื™ืจื” has to be in Torah, because Torah is ื ืฆื—ื™ and and the ื“ื™ืจื” is ื ืฆื—ื™, because what makes the ื ืฆื—ื™ื•ืช of Torah is ื“ื•ืงื ื–ื‘ื•ืœื•ืŸ. ื•ื‘ื”ืงื“ืžื”, let's explain this, he says. What does that mean? ื•ื‘ื”ืงื“ืžื” ืžืชื•ื›ืŸ ื”ื›ืชื•ื‘, he says, let's look at the pasuk where it says ืžื ืกื” ื”' ืืœืงื™ื›ื ืืชื›ื, ื”ืฉื tests you, ืœื“ืขืช, to know, ื”ื™ืฉื›ื ืื•ื”ื‘ื™ื ืืช ื”' ืืœืงื™ื›ื. The Aibershter

Divine Tests Reveal the Strength of Our Love

gives us nisyonos, gives us tests. Why? The pasuk says it gives us tests to know whether you love Hashem or not. So, before he says the peshat, but pashut peshat chassidus asks the kashya: Normally it would mean the Aibershter wants to know if you really love Him, so He gives you a test and see, will you pass the test, then you love Him, if not, not. So, chassidus asks the kashya: What, the Aibershter doesn't know if you love Him or not? Well, if I don't know if you love me, I test, I'll try something, see, will you do it or not, I'll see because I don't know if you love me or not. Doesn't the Aibershter know what's in our heart? The Aibershter doesn't know what, so He has to give us a test to find out? That's pashut pshat. ืœื ืกื•ืช ืืชื›ื ืœื“ืขืช, He tests you lada'at. Chassidus answers: He should know? No, you should know, that's not He wants it to come out b'foal. Like this, you have the strong love b'koach, you don't have it b'gilu'i. The Aibershter wants that this strong love that you have should be b'gilu'i. So lada'at doesn't mean He should find out, it means to make it known, to make the inyan known means gilu'i. ืฉืขืœ ื™ื“ื™ ื ืกื™ื•ื ื•ืช ื‘ื ืœื™ื“ื™ ื’ื™ืœื•ื™ ืชื•ืงืฃ ืื”ื‘ืช ื”ืฉื. The main the love that you have to Hashem, which is so strong that nothing will stop it. What's ื˜ื™ื™ื˜ืฉ ื ืฆื—ื™? Nitzchi means something that nothing will stop. When do you see b'gilu'i that your love to Hashem is nothing will stop it? When you have a nisayon. If you don't have a nisayon, you might have that love, but it's not b'gilu'i. And the truth is, ืžืฆื“ ื”ื’ื™ืœื•ื™, you never know what's going to be, maybe if a test will come, it won't be. So we that so the love to Hashem that's so strong is not b'gilu'i. You have a test and you overcome it, then it's b'gilu'i. ืขืœ ื“ืจืš ื”ืžื‘ื•ืืจ ื‘ืžืงื•ื ืื—ืจ ื‘ื“ื‘ืจื™ ื”ืจืžื‘\"ื, like it says in other places, explain the Rambam. Right, that's potential, He wants to see b'foal. Gilu'i is b'foal. Like that like we explain what Rambam says ืขื ื™ืŸ ื‘ืขืœ ืชืฉื•ื‘ื”.

Baal Teshuvahโ€™s Unique Merit Compared to a Tzadik

Rambam talks about baal teshuvah, he says the maalah of a baal teshuvah is ืฉื˜ืขื ื˜ืขื ื—ื˜ื, he tasted already the taste of ืขื‘ื™ืจื”, ื•ืคื™ืจืฉ ืžืžื ื”, and he went away from it, ื•ื›ื‘ืฉ ื™ืฆืจื•, and he already conquered the ื™ืฆืจ ื”ืจืข. ื•ืžืขืœืชื• ืขืœ ืฆื“ื™ืงื™ื ืฉืœื ื—ื˜ืื• ืžืขื•ืœื, what is the maalah of a baal teshuvah over a tzaddik who never sinned? ื“ืžื™ ืฉืœื ื˜ืขื ื˜ืขื ื—ื˜ื, if he didn't taste an ืขื‘ื™ืจื”, ืื™ื ื• ืžื•ื‘ื˜ื— ืฉื™ืขืžื•ื“ ื‘ืฆื“ืงื•ืชื• ื‘ื›ืœ ื”ืžืฆื‘ื™ื. We're not guaranteed that in all situations he'll still be strong with his tzidkus. You never know. ื’ื ืื ื™ื”ื™ื” ื‘ื ื™ืกื™ื•ืŸ ืฉืื™ื ื• ืจื’ื™ืœ ื‘ื•, maybe there'll come a test which he's not used to, you never know. ื•ืžืžื™ืœื ืœื ื™ื‘ื•ื ืœืคื•ืขืœ ื•ื’ื ืœื ืœื’ื™ืœื•ื™, won't be b'foal and not ื‘ื’ื™ืœื•ื™, ืชื•ืงืฃ ื”ืื”ื‘ื” ืฉืœื• ืขื•ืžื“ืช ื‘ื ื™ืกื™ื•ืŸ, so his love, the ahavat Hashem, might not come b'giluy. ืžื” ืฉืื™ืŸ ื›ืŸ ื‘ืขืœ ืชืฉื•ื‘ื”, ืฉื˜ืขื ื˜ืขื ื”ื—ื˜ื, he had a ื—ื˜ื, ื•ืคื™ืจืฉ ื”ื™ืžื ื•, and he went away from it, ื•ื›ื‘ืฉ ื™ืฆืจื•, and he conquered the ื™ืฆืจ ื”ืจืข, ื”ืจื™ ื ืชื’ืœื” ื•ื‘ื ืœืคื•ืขืœ ืชื•ืงืฃ ื–ื”. So his love to Hashem already came ื‘ื’ื™ืœื•ื™, ื•ืœื ื™ื›ืฉืœ ืขื•ื“ ื”ืคืขื. It won't happen again. ืœืฉื•ืŸ Rambam, and the Rambam says, ื™ืขื™ื“ ืขืœื™ื• ื™ื•ื“ืข ืชืขืœื•ืžื•ืช ืฉืœื ื™ืฉื•ื‘ ืœื–ื” ืœืขื•ืœื. The Aibershter, a real baal teshuvah means somebody that the Aibershter could testify that he's never going to go back to it. There's tzadikim that never had a nissayon that's greater than and and he was able to withstand, not being a baal teshuvah? Never done anything bad? Okay, but but mostly he had, I mean, a baal teshuvah usually had many nisyonot, more than a tzadik. And if he does a higher type of teshuvah, we are guaranteed that he'll even withstand that, because his ืชื•ืงืฃ ื”ืื”ื‘ื”, his ahavah which has no limits, already is b'giluy. And that's the maalah that he has? That yeah. Except, but does it mean that he's holier than a tzadik? No, no. Tzadik probably is holier than him. Most likely. Most likely. Pashut. Like the guy who came to learn at Hadar HaTorah years years ago in the first baal teshuvah yeshivah. The guy came, became a baal teshuvah. After staying there half a year, he had a problem or something, so someone told him, \"Write to the Rebbe, and the Rebbe will give you a berachah.\" \"I should write to the Rebbe? I'm a baal teshuvah, the Rebbe is a tzadik! A baal teshuvah is greater than a tzadik, so I'm greater than him, so why would I write to him?\" A teshuvah is not greater than a tzadik. He has this maalah, and more maalot it says, the maalah is that he's ืžื‘ืจืจ ืงืœื™ืคื”, which which a baal teshuvah which a tzadik wasn't ืžื‘ืจืจ ืงืœื™ืคื” because he couldn't have a shayachut to kelipah. Anyway, the bottom line is that here what it's saying is that the the maalah of a baal teshuvah is that his ahavah to Hashem was challenged, and he and he brought it out. Does it mean the test by tzadik is the yisurim that they have they accept with love? Yeah, that's why Hashem tests them also to make sure it comes out begiluy. There's

Story of the Frierdiker Rebbe and the Ice Test

also a story with the Frierdiker Rebbe that this guy, a chassid of Sasov or something, he was walking on he was walking to the mikvah on ice, so he says to the Frierdiker Rebbe says to him, \"So can I walk on on the water over there?\" He says, \"I don't know, ื‘ืžืงื•ื ืฉื‘ืขืœื™ ืชืฉื•ื‘ื” ืขื•ืžื“ื™ื ืืคื™ืœื• ืฆื“ื™ืงื™ื...\" \"I can stand there,\" he was saying. \"I don't know if you could stand there.\" What he meant is because he didn't want the Frierdiker Rebbe to go on the ice. ื•ื›ืŸ ื‘ืขื ื™ื ื ื•, we can apply the same thing here, too. ื›ืœ ื–ืžืŸ ืฉืื™ืŸ ืœื‘ื ื™ ื™ืฉืจืืœ ืžืฉื ื•ืžืชืŸ ื‘ืขื ื™ื ื™ ื”ืขื•ืœื ืœื‘ืจืจ ืื•ืชื ื”ื“ื‘ืจื™ื, as long as yidden don't get involved in the gashmiyus of the world to be ืžื‘ืจืจ, ืืฃ ืฉืขื•ืกืงื™ื ื‘ืชื•ืจื” ื•ืขื‘ื•ื“ืช ื”ืณ, even as they're in Torah and do ืขื‘ื•ื“ืช ื”ืณ, ื‘ื›ืœ ื–ืืช, the tokef, the netzchiyut of the neshamah, the the bli gvul of the of the ahavah to Hashem is not begiluy. ื•ืœื”ืคืš, ื›ืžื” ื•ื›ืžื” ืœื ื”ื’ื™ืข ืœืคื•ืขืœ, probably it never actually happened. Want a dirah for the Aibershter, that will not cause it. Because a ื“ื™ืจื” ืœื”ืงื“ื•ืฉ ื‘ืจื•ืš ื”ื•ื, when the Aibershter makes a dirah, it will be nitzchi. And what you learn Torah now, so we ask the she'elah, Torah is ื ืฆื—ื™, that's what a ื“ื™ืจื” should be. No, your Torah is not ื ืฆื—ื™. We don't know how long your Torah is going to last. Like a tzadik, we don't know, maybe certain things will happen and you won't learn Torah, so your Torah is not going to accomplish it.

Zevulunโ€™s Honest Business as Spiritual Strength

ื“ื•ื•ืงื ื‘ืขื‘ื•ื“ืช ื–ื‘ื•ืœื•ืŸ, ืฉืื™ืŸ ืขืกืง ื‘ืชื—ืชื•ื ื™ื ืฉืื™ืŸ ืชื—ืชื•ืŸ ืœืžื˜ื” ื”ื™ืžื ื• ื‘ืขื ื™ืŸ ื”ื”ืกืชืจ ืืœื™ื• ื™ืชื‘ืจืš, ืชื—ืชื•ื ื™ื which is lowest that furthest from ื”ืณ, ื•ืžื›ืœ ืžืงื•ื ืขื•ืกืงื™ื ื‘ืชื•ืจื” ื•ืžืงื™ื™ืžื™ื ืžืฆื•ื•ืช, and they still, a Zevulun who is a businessman, and does his business honestly, and he does everything ืขืœ ืคื™ ื”ืœื›ื”, ื”ืจื™ ื–ื” ืžื’ืœื” ื•ื›ื•ืœื™ ืืช ื”ืชื•ืงืฃ. That brings out the strength of a ื™ื™ื“ ืœื”ื™ื•ืชื ื“ื‘ื•ืงื™ื ื‘ืชื›ืœื™ืช ืขื ื”ืณ, that they're completely connected to ื”ืณ, ื•ื‘ื–ื” ื ืขืฉื™ืช ื“ื™ืจื” ืœืฉื›ื™ื ื” ื‘ืื•ืคืŸ ืงื‘ื•ืข ื•ื ืฆื—ื™. That makes the ืงื‘ื™ืขื•ืช ื ืฆื—ื™. So what this comes out is like this: The ื“ื™ืจื” is indeed in Torah. But when is the Torah that the ื ืฆื—ื™ that could be a a ื“ื™ืจื” for the ืื™ื™ื‘ืขืจืฉื˜ืขืจ? ื“ื•ื•ืงื when the Torah comes after Zevulun. When you have Zevulun, and that could bring the ืชื•ืงืฃ to Torah. In the ืฉืžื™ื˜ื” is the ืžืฆื™ืื•ืช of ื™ืฉ ื’ืฉืžื™ is ื™ืฉ ืืžื™ืชื™? Is based on the ื™ืกื•ื“ื•ืช ืฉืœ ื™ืฉื•ืช, yeah, in ืงื™ื“ื•ืฉื™ืŸ ืœืดื‘ over there. ืื™ื ื™ ืžืœืžื“ ืืช ื‘ื ื™ ืืœื ืชื•ืจื”, only Torah, it talks about ืขื•ืœื ื”ื‘ื... Torah is always so... The ืžืขืœื” of Torah, that's what it says. Always says that if you're able to do it, but then, it says because Torah stands when you're old, when you're young, if... That's a ืžืขืœื”. We know that. No one is seeking taking away the ืžืขืœื” of learning Torah. Everyone knows it's a big thing. But he says here that in this ืคืจื˜ of ื“ื™ืจื” ื‘ืชื—ืชื•ื ื™ื is a ืžืขืœื” in in Zevulun, and that gives the ืžืขืœื” in Torah. Like Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai? Yeah. There's no there's no rainbow in his lifetime. Yeah. It's ืžืฉืžืข that that's more of a No, but the ื“ื™ืจื” ื‘ืชื—ืชื•ื ื™ื, he he ื“ื•ื•ืงื didn't do. He his ืชื•ืจื”, ื“ืจื’ื”, is for Hakadosh Baruch Hu, we know At that time, yeah. Everybody's ื“ืจื’ื”'s here, but the ื“ื™ืจื” ื‘ืชื—ืชื•ื ื™ื is accomplished through all these people who worked and ืžืžื™ืœื, made his Torah accomplished. His ืžื“ืจื’ื” of Torah accomplished, because there were so many people who who worked. So physical learning Torah right now, is that making a ื“ื™ืจื” ื‘- Not the same. No. It's making, because we're learning here and we're taking the papers, but not the same way as you do ื›ืœ ืžืขืฉื™ืš ื™ื”ื™ื• ืœืฉื ืฉืžื™ื. That's real ืชื—ืชื•ื ื™ื, cuz we're not involved with ืชื—ืชื•ื ื™ื now. Right. We don't even have cake here today. We say you're not even in ืชื—ืชื•ื ื™ื. It's very schwach, very schwach ืชื—ืชื•ื ื™ื tonight. Not knowing to talk about the yesh me'ayin. to talk and not to have cake, and still learn, it's a It's a different ื ื™ืกื™ื•ืŸ, but you're not ื•ื™ืชืจื•, you want Okay, that part, yeah. You fight yetzer hara. ืื”? ืขื•ื“ ื”ืคืขื ืชื’ื™ื“. But it's all ื‘ื”ืžืฉืš to the Zevulun. Why he was such a high ืžื“ืจื’ื”, because it came because there were Yidden who had this ื’ืฉืžื™ื•ืช, that's what made it. Those who learned Torah, their Torah should work good. It's all ื‘ื”ืžืฉืš. Yes, okay. Okay. But who says it's not not because of this Zevulun? It's not because there are other people who do Zevulun. Together with that, and and he's such a high ืžื“ืจื’ื”, that brings him up. You could say Can you say that the Torah is is is the is the ื”ืขืœืื” and the the the the ืขื‘ื•ื“ื” of Zevulun is the ื”ืžืฉื›ื”? Yeah, but you have to say that it's not for Zevulun, you wouldn't have the ืžืขืœื” of Torah. Right. It wouldn't be It wouldn't be ื ืฆื—ื™. It wouldn't be ื ืฆื—ื™. Right. Why? Why? Because ื ืฆื—ื™ means that it's forever, everlasting, and there's nothing that could stop it. No challenges. It's not If you don't have challenges, you don't know it might be stopped by you. If there's challenges and you're up again, then the Torah that you have is so great. So And the Torah's I mean, if you want, it does say it also in ืชืฉื•ื‘ื” ื•ืงื•ืชื™ ื•ืงื•ืชื™. ืื”, tachtonim. But it's definitely the combination of both. ื•ื–ื”ื•

Future Dirah After the Exile and Mashiach

This is the connection between the dirah that will happen when we finish the ืขื‘ื•ื“ื” ื“ื›ืœ ืžืฉืš ื–ืžืŸ ื”ื’ืœื•ืช, after the whole galut. This is the connection in that, which is that we say, We say like this, now we the main thing is avodah of bringing of elevating the world and that will bring to Mashiach. What will happen in Mashiach? We'll sit in Torah alt-Torah all day. What's the connection? If the maalah Normally, it's the maalah of Zevulun of working, so what will be? When Mashiach will come, oh, then the working will be very, very strong. It's the farkert. You say that maalah in working, in the this and being a baal esek, and then what will that bring? It will learn a lot. So, he says, ื›ื™ ืขื ื™ืŸ ื”ื“ื™ืจื”, ื“ื™ืจืช ืงื“ืฉื• ืฉืœ ื”ืงื“ื•ืฉ ื‘ืจื•ืš ื”ื•ื, Because the ikar of the ื“ื™ืจื” ืงื‘ืข, the Eibishter is ืžืชื’ืœื” basically, the ืชื•ืจื” ืฉืœ ื™ืฉืจืืœ, it's the Torah that does it. So then, when we'll have the dirah, we'll learn Torah. ืืœื ื›ื“ื™ ืฉืขืกืง ื–ื” ื™ื”ื™ื” ื‘ืชื›ืœื™ืช ื”ืฉืœื™ืžื•ืช In order for this to be complete, ื”ืจื™ ื–ื” ืœืื—ืจ ืขื‘ื•ื“ื” ื“ื›ืœ ืžืฉืš ื–ืžืŸ ื”ื’ืœื•ืช. after the avodah in galut, which the main avodah in galut is Zevulun. That will bring out the maalah of Torah. Oh, now we answer the kashya with Yaakov. Al pi zeh, And now ืจืื•ื‘ืŸ ืฉืื™ืŸ ืกืชื™ืจื” ื‘ืฉื ื™ ื”ืขื ื™ื ื™ื ื‘ื™ืขืงื‘, there is no stira by Yaakov. What was the con- contradiction? On

Yaakovโ€™s Torah Linked to Zevulunโ€™s Labor

one hand we said, ืฉืขื ื™ื ื• ื”ื•ื ืชื•ืจื”, ื›ื ืดืœ, is Torah. On the other hand we said, ืฉืœื™ืžื•ืช ื”ืฆืœื—ืชื• ื‘ืื•ืคืŸ ื“ื•ื™ืคืจื•ืฅ ื”ืื™ืฉ ืžืื“ ืžืื“, When was he really matzliach in a ืœืžืขืœื” ืžื“ืจืš ื”ื˜ื‘ืข? ื•ืขืžื“ืช ืฉื‘ืขื™ื ืฉื‘ื™ืฉืจืืœ, making the shevatim, was davka based on the avodah of ื‘ื™ืช ืœื‘ืŸ, when he worked by Lavan. So the answer is ืคืฉื•ื˜, ื›ื™, because, ื›ื“ื™ ืฉื”ืชื•ืจื” ืชื”ื™ื” ืืฆืœ ื™ืขืงื‘ ื‘ืงื‘ื™ืขื•ืช, In order that the Torah of Yaakov should be It's the main thing is Torah, and you want the Torah to be the kvius, But when can the Torah be the kvius? ื•ืœืชืžื™ื“ ื•ื‘ืœื™ ื›ืœ ื”ื’ื‘ืœื”, forever, without limits, ืžืื™ืŸ ืžืื™ืŸ, ื”ืจื™ ื–ื” ื‘ื ืขืœ ื™ื“ื™ ื–ื” ืฉื™ืขืงื‘ ื”ืœืš ืœื—ืจืŸ, ืฉืฉื ืขื‘ื•ื“ืช ื”ื‘ืจื•ืจื™ื. That was davka when he was doing Zevulun. He was in a low place, in Charan. ื•ืฉื ื”ื™ื” ืจื•ืขื” ืืช ืฆืืŸ ืคืขืœื™ ืฉืœ ืœื‘ืŸ, He worked with sheep. He was a worker of Lavan. ืฉืื– ื ืžืฉืš ื•ื ืชื’ืœื” ื‘ืชื•ืจืชื• ื•ืขื‘ื•ื“ืชื• ืฉืœ ื™ืขืงื‘, Then it was nitgaleh in Yaakov's ืขื‘ื•ื“ื”, ื•ื™ืคืจื•ืฅ ืื™ืฉ ืžืื“ ืžืื“ ืœืžืขืœื” ืžืงื•ื ื’ื“ืจ ื•ื”ื’ื‘ืœื”. So we see, so the kashya was, why is Yaakov, which is Torah, his ikar is Zevulun, because what makes this Torah so ืงื‘ื•ืข, ื“ื•ื•ืงื the fact that there are challenges and he was at that time challenged, and worked with ืชื—ืชื•ื ื™ื, that brings out the ื‘ืœื™ ื’ื‘ื•ืœ of the Torah. You know, his work is ruchniyut. Uh? I mean, it was all ruchniyut. No, it's it was in He worked with cattle. No, he worked with gashmiyut and sheep. Yeah, but he also did with the gashmiyut. It represent all kind of things, but he fairly worked, and he worked for Lavan and he had problems with Lavan, and Lavan cheated him, and all the things happened. ื•ื”ืขื ื™ืŸ ื”ื•ื, did he really have sticks? Probably tzitzit. Yeah. Actually he didn't have any tzitzit. He only had sticks.
