Likkutei Sichos: Volume 13
ืืืืข ืืืฉืื ืงืืข ืืฉืืืช ืืจืื: ืฉืื, ืืืง ืืดื (ืชืฉืดืค)
A first-hand account (in Hebrew): Rabbi Schapiro prepared the Rebbe's Shabbos Parshas Shlach 5732 sicha (Likkutei Sichos vol. 13, Shlach 2) for the Rebbe's editing. The Rebbe twice struck the closing passage โ that Moshe's prayer could not help those who opposed him, and likewise the Nasi of each generation โ writing that it is "the opposite of the entire Chassidic approach; the paper should be burned and it should not be said."
Likkutei Sichos: Shlach 1, Chelek 13
Likkutei Sichos vol. 13, Shlach 1, with the footnotes: how the name "Shlach" captures the whole parsha. Sending the spies was itself positive โ Hashem never asks the impossible, yet we must first "scout out" and understand a mitzvah, and then go beyond what we were commanded.
Hagahos on Sicha: Nasso, Chelek 13
Working page by page through the printed sicha for Parshas Nasso in Likkutei Sichos, Chelek Yud-Gimmel, this class traces the Rebbe's own handwritten changes to the text โ clarifying that the Leviim's special count was for a specific task, sharpening the warning against falling into sadness and despair, and adding the demand to decide โwith all one's strengthโ to leave a place lacking good influences. The class closes by examining a paragraph the Rebbe crossed out entirely and rewrote from scratch, reshaping the distinction between sur mei'ra and aseh tov.
Likkutei Sichos: Nasso 1, Chelek 13
A Likkutei Sichos class on Rashi's comments on Parshas Nasso, exploring why the Jews stayed encamped for most of forty years in the desert, and the chassidic lesson of actively working to influence one's environment.
