want to see a shichah on Rosh Chodesh Shevat. Says in the parashah, in Parashat Devarim actually, 讜讬讛讬 讘讗专讘注讬诐 砖谞讛 讘注砖转讬 注砖专 讞讜讚砖 讘讗讞讚 诇讞讜讚砖, came out it was the 40th year, the 11th month, the first day of the month, which means 11th the first day of 砖讘讟, 讛讜讗讬诇 诪砖讛 讘讗专 讗转 讛转讜专讛 讛讝讗转 诇讗诪专. Moshe was meva'er, explained the Torah, saying, 讜讗诪专讜 专讝\"诇 讜讛讜讘讗 讘驻讬专讜砖 专砖\"讬, the Chazal say and it says in 专砖\"讬, 讘砖讘注讬诐 诇砖讜谉 驻讬专砖讛 诇讛诐. And it says he was meva'er, 讘讗专 讗转 讛转讜专讛, he was meva'er, it means he explained it in 70 languages. Tzarich biur, and therefore you have to understand, 讘砖讘讬诇 诪讛 讛讜爪专讱 诪砖讛 专讘讬谞讜 诇驻专砖 讛转讜专讛 诇讬砖专讗诇 讘砖讘注讬诐 诇砖讜谉? Why was it necessary for Moshe to tell the Yidden the 70 languages? I mean what's the purpose of in the midbar with 70 languages? HaLevush wrote, the Levush writes, 讚讞砖砖, he was afraid, 讗讜诇讬 讗讬谞诐 讻讜诇诐 讘注诇讬 诇砖讜谉 讛拽讜讚砖 讜诇讗 讬讘讬谞讜 讛讻诇. There might be some people don't speak 诇砖讜谉 讛拽讜讚砖 and they will not understand what he's saying. Because 讚讜讜讚讗讬 注诐 专讘 讻讝讜, because such a big amount of people, 砖讛诐 讬讜转专 诪砖砖讬诐 专讬讘讜讗, more than 600,000, 讬砖 讘讛诐 讘注诇讬 诇砖讜谞讜转 讛专讘讛, a lot of people just speak different languages. 讜诇讻讱 讗诪专 专砖\"讬 讘砖讘注讬诐 诇砖讜谉, that's what Rashi says that to do it in 70 languages, 讻诇讜诪专, meaning to say, 讻讬讜讜谉 砖讞砖砖 砖诪讗 讬砖 讘讛诐 讘注诇讬 砖讗专 诇砖讜谞讜转, since he's afraid it might be some people that have only know other languages, 讜讜讚讗讬 讛讜爪专讱 诇驻专砖 诇讛诐 讘讻诇 讛砖讘注讬诐 诇砖讜谞讜转. So he had to do it in all 70 languages. Why? 讚讛讬 诪讬谞讬 诪讗驻拽讬转, which one will you not say? Let's say we say he doesn't need all 70 languages, but he only needs 10 languages, but you don't know which ones. You don't assume that there's people who speak seven different 70, but you don't know which one to take out. Maybe the one you're going to take out is punkt the one that someone doesn't understand, will not understand, knows that language, finally won't understand. So the bottom line is that what does the Levush explain? How does he answer the kashya? Why Moshe had to explain the Yidden on Rosh Chodesh Shevat the whole Torah in 70 languages? Because maybe, he assumed, he thought there're probably people who don't understand You see what languages that they subdivide like the 谞砖诪讜转 of the the 谞砖诪讜转 then. In those days like nowadays those languages have gone. Yeah, but some of them come from it. Yeah, but it's In other words, if you see this, let's say it was done because they are just 拽讜讚砖 That's something we'll see. Yeah, we'll hear. Everything has that. No, no, I'm just saying this Here it doesn't say Here it says because they didn't understand. It says because there are people who didn't understand, and he wanted to tell everyone should understand the Torah. For the people, those people then, yeah. That's what it says here. If you say that one of the 讝讻讜转 讝讻讜转讬诐 to take out of Mitzrayim was the language they kept the lashon Yeah, we'll see in a second, yeah. The yotzei Mitzrayim were people who knew a lot of languages. He says that there are some people, Moshe assumed that there are people who don't understand We'll see. But my Rebbe taught me 讜讬专讚 诪爪专讬诐 it goes on 讻诇 讛讗专爪讜转. We'll see. Wait, we just started the sicha. The pshat of the Levush needs a lot of explanation. 讚讗诐 诪砖讛 专讘讬谞讜 讞砖砖 诪讝讛, if Moshe Rabbeinu was really afraid of that, 诇诪讛 讛诪转讬谉 注讚 注转讛, why did he wait till now, 讘住讜祝 讗专讘注讬诐 砖谞讛, only at the end of the 40 years, 诇驻专砖 讛转讜专讛 讘砖讘注讬诐 诇砖讜谉, to explain the Torah in 70 languages, 讜诇讗 注砖讛 讻谉 转讬讻祝 诇讗讞专 诪转谉 转讜专讛? Right after 诪转谉 转讜专讛, he should have assumed people don't understand. 讜注讜讚 讝讗转, another thing, 讜讻讬 诪驻谞讬 讞砖砖 砖讗讜诇讬 讗讬谞诐 讻讜诇诐 讘注诇讬 诇砖讜谉 讛拽讜讚砖, how can we say because he was he says he doesn't say he knew, he thought maybe there are people don't speak 诇砖讜谉 讛拽讜讚砖, 讛讜爪专讱 诪砖讛 诇讛讟专讬讞 讗转 讻诇 讘谞讬 讬砖专讗诇, so did he have to all the Yidden had to be 诪讟专讬讞 诇砖诪讜注 驻讬专讜砖 讻诇 讛转讜专讛 讘讻诇 砖讘注讬诐 诇砖讜谉? Because there are some people might not understand, so every Yid had to go through listening to the whole Torah in 70 languages, whereas he didn't understand most of it because he only understood one language. So all the Yidden had to go through this? It took a while. And it took parsha take very long. Yeah, yeah. Technically, you're going to wind up listening to 69 times what you don't understand. Yeah, normally that's what would happen. Yeah. You'll learn a new language. Yeah. So 讬砖 砖讻转讘讜, others give a different pshat.
诪驻谞讬 砖专讗讛 诪砖讛 专讘讬谞讜 注诇讬讜 讛砖诇讜诐, 诪砖讛 saw 砖讬砖专讗诇 讬讙诇讜 讘讬谉 砖讘注讬诐 讗讜诪讜转, that the Yidden are going to go to galut amongst the 70 nations. 诇驻讬讻讱 讘讗专讛 讘砖讘注讬诐 诇砖讜谉, therefore he said it in the 70 languages, 砖讘讗讬讝讛 诪拽讜诐 砖讬砖专讗诇 讬讘讜讗讜, that wherever the Yidden will go, they will be able to learn it in that language. So it's not for the people now, but it's for the generations later. But the Rebbe asked: 讙诐 转讬专讜抓 讝讛 爪专讬讱 讘讬讗讜专. This terutz also needs explanation. 讚讻讬讜讜谉 砖讚讘专 讝讛 讗讬谞讜 谞讜讙注 诇驻讜注诇 注讚 砖讬讙诇讜 砖讬讙诇讜 讬砖专讗诇 讘讬谉 砖讘注讬诐 讗讜诪讜转, so according to this pshat, it wasn't 谞讜讙注 诇驻讜注诇 now, it is only 谞讜讙注 later on when they will go to galut amongst the other languages, other nations, 诇诪讛 讛讜爪专讱 诪砖讛 专讘讬谞讜 诇诇诪讚 讻诇 讝讛? Why did Moshe Rabbeinu have to teach them 讻诇 讛转讜专讛, the whole 转讜专讛, 砖讘注讬诐 驻注诪讬诐, 70 times, 讻诇 驻注诐 讘诇砖讜谉 讗讞专转, every time in a different language, 讜砖讗专 讘谞讬 讬砖专讗诇 讻讜诇诐 诇讗 讛讘讬谞讜 讗转 讝讛, most didn't understand it, 讜讻诪讗诪专 讞讝\"诇 砖讗驻讬诇讜 讘住谞讛讚专讬谉 专拽 讗讞讚讬诐 讛讘讬谞讜, even in Sanhedrin only a few people understood, had knew all the languages. Most people didn't, and he did it. Ay, we say he did it so that generations later they should be able to understand the 转讜专讛, 讜诇讗 讬住诪讜讱 注诇 讞讻诪讬 讬砖专讗诇 讘讝讛 砖讬讛讬讜 讘注转 讛讛讬讗 讜讻讜'. Why didn't he rely that when it'll come a, if when, hundred, thousands of years later come a generation, then they say the Chachamim then will explain it to them? So Moshe Rabbeinu in the 诪讚讘专, when no one understood any other language, Moshe Rabbeinu had to sit, have everyone sit through it just for this reason? These these languages we need them today, they were not at all. There was no English in those days. Yeah, Mistama they're all again connected. Like French, there's the Old French and the New French. There was no Spanish either at that time. You don't think they were 800 years ago? Latin? I don't know. Latin? Yeah, Latin. But it's all all like, it's a 转讜诇讚讛. It's a 转讜诇讚讛 of, I don't know what it means. Was the did the Sanhedrin have to know all of them? Not everybody. They had to be some? They had to be some members who know. Only French and German and No, some had to know all 70. Like Mordechai knew, but not everybody. So the kashya comes back: What was the purpose of Moshe Rabbeinu telling, saying over the whole Torah in 70 languages? If he said it so who who will remember that later when they go to 讙诇讜转? Yeah. It was all oral, it was not written. Ah? It wasn't written. Well, then it was written, too. With the plaster, the plaster they I understand. Back to this, we'll get, the Rebbe is going to bring it. The 诇讜讞讜转, right? The plaster, then it Plaster, and right, right, right. 讬砖 诇讜诪专 讛讘讬讗讜专 讘讝讛, the Rebbe says the peshat is like this:
讛讜讗 讛诇砖讜谉 砖讛拽讚讜砖 讘专讜讱 讛讜讗 诪讚讘专 讘讜, that's the lashon that the Eibershter speaks. If you're learning His Torah, and He teaches the Eibershter's 诇砖讜谉 讛拽讜讚砖, we should learn only 诇砖讜谉 讛拽讜讚砖, 讛诇砖讜谉 砖讛拽讚讜砖 讘专讜讱 讛讜讗 诪讚讘专 讘讜, we should say the Torah in the way that the Eibershter said the Torah. So mimela, it would seem that you can't learn Torah in any other language. 讜诇讗 专拽 讘谞讜讙注 诇转讜专讛 砖讘讻转讘, not only by 转讜专讛 砖讘讻转讘 砖讙讚专讜 讛讜讗 讻砖诪讜, 讛讻转讘, there the ikar is the 讻转讘, which means the words, 讚讬讜拽 讛讗讜转讬讜转 诇讗 讞住专 讜诇讗 讬转专, there the words exactly, not more, not less, 讻驻讬 砖谞讬转谞讛 诪驻讬 讛讙讘讜专讛, as it's given by the Aibershter. 注讚 砖拽专讬讗讛 讘转讜专讛 砖讘讻转讘, we know that so much so is the ikar the words, because when you read 转讜专讛 砖讘讻转讘 讗祝 注诇 驻讬 砖讗讬谞讜 诪讘讬谉, even if you don't understand, 谞讞砖讘 讻诇讬诪讜讚 讛转讜专讛, it's called learning. By 转讜专讛 砖讘注诇 驻讛 it's not like that. 转讜专讛 砖讘讻转讘 the main thing is the words. So there, 讛专讬 讜讚讗讬 砖诪拽讜诐 诇讜诪专, there certainly we could say, 砖拽专讬讗转 转讜专讛 砖讘讻转讘 讛讬讗 讚讜讜拽讗 讘诇砖讜谉 讛拽讜讚砖, that when we learn Chumash, you have to learn in 诇砖讜谉 讛拽讜讚砖, 讛诇砖讜谉 砖讘讜 谞讬转谞讛 诪驻讬 讛讙讘讜专讛, the language that was given by the Aibershter, which would mean in simple words, if someone learns Chumash in English, he's not learning Torah. Torah is only the way the Aibershter gave it. That's what we would it would seem. So that, 讗讘诇 讘谞讜讙注 诇转讜专讛 砖讘讻转讘 we could say it, 讗祝 讘谞讜讙注 诇驻讬专讜砖 讛转讜专讛 讜讻诇诇讜转 转讜专讛 砖讘注诇 驻讛, even according to the, in the inyan of pirush of 转讜专讛 砖讘讻转讘 and the 讻诇诇 转讜专讛 砖讘注诇 驻讛, 讛讙诐 砖诇讻讗讜专讛 谞讜讙注 讛讛讘谞讛, there it's not the words, it's the inyan, the understanding, 砖诇讻谉 讗诐 讗讬谞讜 诪讘讬谉 诪讛 砖讗讜诪专 讗讬谞讜 谞讞砖讘 诇诇讬诪讜讚 讻诇诇, 转讜专讛 砖讘注诇 驻讛 if you don't know what you're saying, it's not called learning. So you could say that over there we could it's not 谞讜讙注 the language, because the language is only the words. There the main thing is the 转讜讻谉. So who cares in which language it is? But the Rebbe wants to say even over there there is a sevara to say that it has to be Lashon Hakodesh. 诪讻诇 诪拽讜诐 讛专讛讜专 诇讗讜 讻讚讬讘讜专 讚诪讬. We know we pasken the Alter Rebbe paskens, thinking Torah is not 讚讬讘讜专. The Alter Rebbe paskens you're allowed to think divrei Torah without 讘专讻转 讛转讜专讛. Some poskim argue. So the Gra holds 讛专讛讜专 讻讚讬讘讜专, the Alter Rebbe holds 讛专讛讜专 诇讗讜 讻讚讬讘讜专. And what does that show? That the words that you pronounce are important. 讜讬砖 讻诪讛, could I interrupt? Ah? Could I interrupt? Yeah. 讜讬砖 讻诪讛 讚讬谞讬诐 讛讞诇讬诐 注诇 讛 诇诪注砖讛 talking about the Hava Aminas. 讜讬砖 讻诪讛 讚讬谞讬诐 讛讞诇讬诐 注诇 讛讚讬讘讜专 讘讚讘专讬 转讜专讛, there are certain dinim that apply only when you speak 讚讘专讬 转讜专讛, 讙诐 转讜专讛 砖讘注诇 驻讛. Like 诇诪砖诇 there are certain places that you can't speak, but you could think. Anyway, the bottom line is that the wording are the words are important. He says 讻诪讜 讗讬住讜专 诇讚讘专 讘讚讘专讬 转讜专讛 讻砖讛讜讗 注专讜诐. If you're not dressed you can't speak 讚讘专讬 转讜专讛. 诪讛 砖讗讬谉 讻谉 讛专讛讜专 诪讜转专, you're allowed to think. Another din, pask Admor Hazaken, the Alter Rebbe pasks, he says what I just said before, 砖讗讬谉 诪讘专讻讬谉 讘专讻转 讛转讜专讛 注诇 讛专讛讜专 讘讚讘专讬 转讜专讛, you don't make 讘专讻转 讛转讜专讛 if you're just thinking, 专拽 注诇 讚讬讘讜专 讘讚讘专讬 转讜专讛, only if you speak, right? So you need to think Torah in... So he says something else. So it would seem, since the Torah is given from Hashem, and Hashem speaks in 诇砖讜谉 拽讜讚砖, and the words of 转讜专讛 砖讘注诇 驻讛 are also important, see, the words are not important at all, then you could say it's the inyan, the inyan is the understanding, the sechel behind it. But since we just brought dinim that it's noge'a the wording is important, the words are important, if the words are important, so 诇讻讗讜专讛 you would think, when is 转讜专讛 砖讘注诇 驻讛 considered learning 转讜专讛 砖讘注诇 驻讛, if you learn it in 诇砖讜谉 拽讜讚砖. Now, since that's what is the way it seems to be, 讜讝讜 讛讬转讛 驻注讜诇转 诪砖讛 专讘讬谞讜. This is what Moshe Rabbeinu accomplished, 砖注诇 讬讚讬 砖讛讜讗 驻讬专砖 讗转 讛转讜专讛 讘砖讘注讬诐 诇砖讜谉, by Moshe Rabbeinu giving the Yidden the Torah in 70 languages, 讞诇 砖诐 转讜专讛 注诇 讚讘专讬 转讜专讛 讛谞诇诪讚讬诐 注诇 讬讚讬 讘谞讬 讬砖专讗诇 讘砖讗专 讛诇砖讜谞讜转. That makes that any language you learn Torah has the geder, the idea of Torah. 讜讗祝 注诇 驻讬 砖讗讬谉 讝讛 讛诇砖讜谉 砖讛拽讚讜砖 讘专讜讱 讛讜讗 诪讚讘专 讘讜, and even though this is not the language in which Hashem speaks, 诪讻诇 诪拽讜诐 讞诇 注诇 讝讛, I get it, 讚讘专讬 转讜专讛. The fact that Moshe Rabbeinu said it in in in 诇砖讜谉 other 诇砖讜谞讜转, so Moshe Rabbeinu put into the other languages, if you speak Torah, the language, it becomes Torah. 讜讻砖讗讚诐 诪讜爪讬讗 诪驻讬讜 注谞讬谞讬 转讜专讛 讘诇砖讜谞讜转 讛讗讜诪讜转, if a
person says words of Torah, put it out of his mouth, in the languages of the other nations, 讜诪诪讬诇讗 注诇 驻讬 讛诇讻讛 he gives out 讚讘专讬 转讜专讛, 讜讗住讜专 诇讚讘专诐 拽讜讚诐 讘专讻转 讛转讜专讛, and you can't you can't say words of Torah in English before 讘专讻转 讛转讜专讛, because it has the kedushah of Torah. But where did it happen? If not for Moshe doing this, lo davka it would have been that way, because the Aibershter said it in Leshon Kodesh. So now Moshe Rabbeinu said it in other languages, so now it gets the kedushah. And what languages that... Oh, must be a hemshech to the old languages. I mean it's just a different dialect, I guess. We see in the Torah also, that the Torah itself has some few words of other languages. 砖讬砖 讘讛 诪诇砖讜谞讜转 讛注诪讬诐, it has from the 诇砖讜谞讜转 of the other nations, 讻诪讜 讬讙专 砖讛讚讜转讗. By Lavan, Yaakov called it Gilad, that the 讙诇, the pile of stones, is an 注讚, is a testimony, and he called it 讬讙专 砖讛讚讜转讗, which is in his language. Or 讟讜讟驻转, 讟讜讟驻转 砖转讬诐, then Rashi says, 讟讜讟驻转 in other languages means four, 讟讟 in one language means two, 驻转 in other language means two, so it's four. African, yeah. But no, he says in 讜讛讬讬谞讜, 砖讛讟注诐 砖转讬讘讜转 讗诇讜 谞讻诇诇讜 讘转讜专讛, the reason why these words were included in the 转讜专讛, 砖讻讜诇诐 诪驻讬 讛讙讘讜专讛, which came from the 讗讬讬讘注专砖讟注专, 讛讜讗 讻讚讬 砖转讞讜诇 拽讚讜砖转 讛转讜专讛 注诇 转讬讘讜转 讗诇讜, that these words should get the 拽讚讜砖转 讛转讜专讛 in 讞讜诪砖, 砖注诇 讬讚讬 讝讛 谞注砖讜 诇砖讜谞讜转 讛讗讜诪讜转 诪讜讻砖专讬诐 诇讛讘讬注 注诇 讬讚诐 讚讘专讬 转讜专讛, that makes that the languages of the other nations should become 诪讜讻砖专, means ready, to receive Divrei Torah. And the same thing comes in the other 诇砖讜谞讜转 when we learn any words of Torah. But 诇驻讜注诇, this is 讘讻诇诇讜转, more 讘驻专讟讬讜转, who accomplished this? Moshe Rabbeinu. So when Moshe Rabbeinu said the Torah in all languages, he made that you could, when you say Torah in a different language, it becomes Torah. 讛讟注诐 砖注谞讬谉 讝讛 谞注砖讛 注诇 讬讚讬 诪砖讛 专讘讬谞讜 讚讜拽讗, why did it have to be done through Moshe Rabbeinu? Lichorah, we said before, Moshe could have waited, and let the 讞讻诪讬诐 of later generations do it. Now there was no need for it, because Yidden all spoke Lashon Kodesh, seems like. So therefore, who cares if if you take Torah in other languages, it's not Torah, they're not doing it anyway. Later generations will do it, so the 讞讻诪讬诐 of later generations will do it. Why did Moshe have to do it? So he says the reason why Moshe had to do it, Any inyan in Torah had to come through Moshe. Whatever a person will say gave was given to Moshe, and the Rebbe is 诪讚讬讬拽 here. It doesn't say The kvetsh it has to be through Moshe. Everything has to go Moshe. So, since we find any inyan in Torah had to go through Moshe, 讜讻谉 注谞讬谉 讝讛, so this too, 砖讞诇讜转 砖诐 转讜专讛 注诇 讚讘专讬 转讜专讛 讛谞讗诪专讬诐 讘砖讘注讬诐 诇砖讜谉, there should be the 讞诇讜转 of the of the it should become 转讜专讛, 拽讚讜砖转 讛转讜专讛, even if it's said in a different language, 讬讻诇讛 诇讘讜讗 专拽 注诇 讬讚讬 诪砖讛, it could only come through Moshe. And we find the Rebbe has this in other thing places also, in 讻诇诇讜转 you're taught to say that things have to go through Moshe. In this it's not I'm not going to want to 讘讗专讬讻讜转, maybe it brings 讛注专讜转, you know, I don't see it. There's another thing with the Rebbe says, not by Torah, but something else, by Bnei Gad u'Vnei Reuven. He said Bnei Bnei Gad u'Vnei Reuven asked to get their share on this side of the Yarden. Then it says Moshe made a condition with them, they should cross the Yarden, go fight. Then at the end was, after he gave the condition, it says Moshe Rabbeinu gave to Bnei Gad, u'Vnei Reuven, and half of Menashe he gave that part. How does half of Menashe fall in? Where are they coming from? Yerushalmi asks half of I mean, where are they coming from? Didn't. So, some 诪驻专砖讬诐 have all kinds of 讘讬讗讜专讬诐 that doesn't like this. What 讘讬讗讜专 does he have? He says like this: Everything that throughout 讻诇诇 讬砖专讗诇, any major concept always has to go through Moshe. One of the major concepts in in Yidden throughout generations is that when Mashiach will come, 讬专讞讬讘 讛壮 讗诇拽讬讱 讗转 讙讘讜诇讱, the Oibershter will give us bigger land of 讗专抓 讬砖专讗诇. That, too, had to start with Moshe Rabbeinu. So, Moshe Rabbeinu gave the Bnei Gad outside of 讗专抓 讬砖专讗诇, that's the beginning of what will be 诇注转讬讚 诇讘讜讗. So, Bnei Gad u'Vnei Reuven got it because they asked for it, because they wanted it for 诪拽谞讛, which is considered a 讞住专讜谉. And by 诪拽谞讛 by and 讞爪讬 砖讘讟 诪谞砖讛 was given because they this is already given by Moshe to beginning of what will be then. And why 讚讜讜拽讗 to Menashe? So, he says because Menashe the Shevet Menashe, like Bnot Tzelafchad, liked They had this special connection to Eretz Yisrael, whatever. But the same vort there. Everything had to go through Moshe. Why did Moshe? It says 谞讛专 讛讙讚讜诇, 谞讛专 驻专转, and all these things? Yeah, but this is further. This is further. Further. This refers to this, Mashiach and this one? No, that this is even further. The Midrash says, why did Moshe Rabbeinu have to look, the Eibershter said look at Eretz Yisrael? Because even the regular Eretz Yisrael had to connect to Moshe. Moshe had to And it says that Moshe's looking was 诪拽讚砖 the land, the 讛讗专抓. Since Moshe looked and the look of Moshe made it holy. What's the pshat? Because why Moshe? Because the Eibershter wanted everything that's a major inyan in Klal Yisrael to go through Moshe. Same thing with this. Same thing here, 转讜专讛 注讘讜讚讛, that had to go through Moshe. So, to bring the 拽讚讜砖转 讛转讜专讛 on other languages, that if you speak Torah in it, had to come from Moshe. This could explain another inyan we find concerning the translation of the Torah in 70 languages. Another thing, what do we find? 砖诇讗讞专 砖驻讬专砖 诪砖讛 专讘讬谞讜 讗转 讛转讜专讛 讘砖讘注讬诐 诇砖讜谉, after here we learn that Moshe Rabbeinu translated the Torah into all 70 languages, 爪讬讜讛 诪砖讛 讜讝拽谞讬 讬砖专讗诇 讗转 讛注诐, 诪砖讛 commanded, 诪砖讛 the 讝拽谞讬诐 commanded the people that what should they do? 讘讬讜诐 讗砖专 转注讘专讜 讗转 讛讬专讚谉, when you cross the 讬专讚谉, 讜讛拽诪讜转 诇讱 讗讘谞讬诐 讙讚讜诇讜转, you should put up these big stones, 讜讻转讘转 注诇 讛讗讘谞讬诐 讗转 讻诇 讚讘专讬 讛转讜专讛 讛讝讗转 讘讗专 讛讬讟讘, you should write on the stones the whole 转讜专讛 讘讗专 讛讬讟讘, very good, explain. 讗诪专讜 专讝状诇, 讛讜讘讗 讘驻讬专讜砖 专砖状讬, here also, the Chazal say and Rashi says, 讘砖讘注讬诐 诇砖讜谉, he told them, he
instructed them that they should write the whole Torah on these stones in 70 languages. No, 讘讗专 means a 讘讬讗讜专, 讛讬讟讘 is good. So, he says it means 70 languages. 讜讛讬讬谞讜 砖谞讜住祝 注诇 讝讛 砖驻讬专砖 诇讛诐 诪砖讛 讗转 讛转讜专讛 讘砖讘注讬诐 诇砖讜谉 讘注诇 驻讛, it seems clearly, besides the fact that Moshe orally spoke to them all the the whole Torah in 70 languages, 爪讬讜讛 砖讬讻转讘讜 讗转 讛转讜专讛 讘砖讘注讬诐 诇砖讜谉, he even told them that he told them that why that they should write the Torah also in 70 languages. Why do we need both? Normally you would say you need to know the Torah in 70 languages, so after Moshe Rabbeinu gave it to them in 70 languages, so now it's enough. So, now we have it in 70 languages. Why did it have to be that they should also write it in the 70 languages? Hello. Sorry, I went to buy something for the for the group. Oh, we had some food, so now we need more. No food, no food. Okay. So, the question is really, normally, why did they have to write it also later? If Moshe already said it in 70 languages, so the people already know the Torah in 70 languages. So, what's the purpose of later writing this? But based on what we said before, we'll understand. And he says why: 讚讛谞讛 讛专诪讘状诐 驻讬专砖, Rambam explains, 砖讛讻转讬讘讛 讛讬转讛 讘讻转讬讘转 讻诇 讗讜诪讛 诪讗讜诪讜转. In other words, this Okay, good. Okay, good, good. I'm not going to be here for the yahrtzeit, but this going to be for... Good. Okay. Yishar koach, yishar koach. Yishar koach. So the
Rebbe says like this: Rambam says when you say that they wrote it in other languages, there are two peshatim. One peshat is the the language was the other language, but the words were Hebrew words. Yiddish. Yiddish is German, but you don't write it in in in German characters, you write it in alef beis. Same thing it could be it was all 70 languages, but they were all written in in the 讗讜转讬讜转 of alef beis. Like the Rambam wrote most of his sefarim in Arabic. He didn't write the Arabic language, it was written in in Hebrew letters, but the words were Arabic. The Rambam says this is not like that. When he told them to write the whole Torah in 70 languages on the stone, he meant to write in the in the in their language, in the in in their characters, in their letters. So he says, the Rambam says that it was to be It was the writing, the words of those languages. It comes out that normally we would think the difference between Moshe saying it and them writing it, is that the difference is that this was said, and this was written. If if you would learn the other way, that the characters were Hebrew, so what's the difference between Moshe saying and them? Moshe said it orally, baal peh, in other language, and here it was written in other language. But now we're saying it's more than that. The difference is what was the language itself, and here besides the words were in other languages, the writing was in another language. He wrote, yeah, in French, or in in English. This is the two inyanim: the saying it and the writing. 讜讛讗讞转, so why did we need both? So
based on what the Rebbe said before, that the reason he said it in other languages is so there should be a 讞诇讜转 拽讚讜砖讛 of Torah in the other languages, but there still would have been missing something. If Moshe Rabbeinu had just said it, it would seem that the other languages the language has, if you say Torah, has a kedushah. But if you write the same a 驻住讜拽 讞讜诪砖, you write it down in English, since the characters are not Hebrew, it has no kedushat haTorah. So the 转讜讻谉 of the language could have the kedushah, but a Sefer that's written in English, so if you read those words and you say it, you are saying Torah. That Sefer is not is not a holy Sefer. Because those words are written in a different language. No, no, no, even if you learn it, no! If you If it what they if they wouldn't. So the 转讜讻谉 is that you get the 转讜讻谉 from it. So what you think is holy because Moshe Rabbeinu made that other language to have kedushat haTorah, but the book itself... No, it would be it would... Al pi emet, we're saying what it would have been, would have been nothing. So we need both inyanim. You need to be Torah if you learn it. 诇诪砖诇, if you take a regular Chumash, and you teach it, and you translate into English, so that first thing is Moshe Rabbeinu made that when you say the words in English, it should have a kedushah of Torah. 讜讛砖谞讬, the second thing they did was 砖讬讞讜诇 砖诐 转讜专讛 注诇 讻转讘 讛讗讜诪讜转, that if you write it in their 讻转讘, it's Torah. 砖讛住驻专讬诐 讘注谞讬讬谞讬 转讜专讛 砖谞讻转讘讜 讘讻转讘 讛讗讜诪讜转, the Sefarim of Torah that's written in their language, 讛专讬 讛谉 住驻专讬 拽讜讚砖, they're holy, 砖讗住讜专 诇谞讛讜讙 讘讛诐 诪谞讛讙 讘讝讬讜谉, and you're not allowed to be mezalzel, you're not allowed to embarrass it, because it has a kedushah of Torah. And that's only happened because Moshe Rabbeinu told them to write. And again, this was done through Moshe. Moshe didn't do it, but Moshe commanded them to do it. So it all comes from Moshe. Yeah, he told them, yeah. Yeah, yeah, I guess they had people who know... It's claimed. 驻砖讜讟 驻砖讟, it goes, if you learn simple 驻砖讟 in the pasuk, this is the beginning of Chumash Devarim. Let's go look back to the pasuk. The pasuk starts: 讜讬讛讬 讘讗专讘注讬诐 砖谞讛 讘注砖转讬 注砖专 讞讜讚砖 讘讗讞讚 诇讞讜讚砖, which means Rosh Chodesh Shevat in the 40th year, 诪砖讛, 讛讜讗讬诇 诪砖讛 讘讗专 讗转 讛转讜专讛 讛讝讗转, 诪砖讛 started explaining the Torah, and what was it? What he continues saying. So
驻砖讜讟注 驻砖讟, it seems that this thing that Moshe was telling him was the whole Chumash Devarim, only Mishneh Torah. That 注谞讬谉, 讘讗诪转 he did it with the whole Torah, but being that in simple peshat it goes on Mishneh Torah, on Devarim, is 诪砖诪注 that this whole concept of what Moshe did here, it has a special connection to Mishneh Torah. 诇讻讗讜专讛 what, he translated the whole Torah, why is the Mishneh Torah different? 注诇 驻讬 讛谞状诇, based on before, based on this 讬砖 诇讘讗专 讛砖讬讬讻讜转 讘讬谞讬讛诐. Now we can explain the connection between Mishneh Torah and the idea that he translated in 70 lashonot. It says in the Gemara that the 拽诇诇讜转 of Mishneh Torah, Moshe said it himself. And it doesn't only mean on the 拽诇诇讜转. It means the whole Mishneh Torah, Moshe Rabbeinu said it on his own. It doesn't mean davka the The whole of Mishneh Torah Moshe said it by himself, on his own, not from so kevayachol not from the Eibershter. 讜讘驻讬专讜砖 讛讚讘专讬诐 讛讗专讬讻讜 讛诪驻专砖讬诐, the mefarshim are mighty to explain this, because this is not understood, what does that mean? Moshe isn't that from the Torah, not from the Eibershter? 讜讛专讬 讛讛诇讻讛 讘专讜专讛 讛讬讗, there's a clear halacha in the Rambam, 砖讛讗讜诪专 砖讗讬谉 讛转讜专讛 诪谉 讛砖诪讬诐, and someone says that Torah is not from 讛砖诐, 讗驻讬诇讜 转讬讘讛 讗讞转, one word, 讗诐 讗诪专 讗诐 讗诪专 诪砖讛 讗诪专讜 诪驻讬 注爪诪讜, if anybody says that Moshe said one word of the Torah on his own, 讛专讬 讝讛 讻讜驻专 讘转讜专讛, denying the Torah. 讜诪驻讜专砖, it's been in Rambam, it says in Rambam, 诇注谞讬谉 砖诪讜谞讛 驻住讜拽讬诐 砖讘住讜祝 讛转讜专讛, even the last eight pesukim in the Torah, which is after it says 讜讬诪转 砖诐 诪砖讛, Moshe died, 砖讛讻诇 转讜专讛 讛讬讗 讜诪砖讛 诪驻讬 讛讙讘讜专讛 讗诪专诐. It's Torah, Moshe said it from the Eibershter. But even those last eight pesukim is Torah, because Moshe said it from the Eibershter, didn't say it on his own. 讜诪讘讜讗专 讘讝讛, so what's the pshat? So the
explanation the mefarshim give we don't fetch up the crowd. Yeah. So the answer is based on what Tosafot says, 诪砖讛 诪讗讝 谞讗诪专 诪砖讛 said it by himself beruach hakodesh, the pshat is as beruach hakodesh. Oh, so it's not his own, not 诪驻讬 注爪诪讜 that he made up his own things and he said it, it's ruach hakodesh. What does that mean? So what's the difference? Everything else was also beruach hakodesh, why is this called 讻诇讜诪专, it means like this, 砖讙诐 拽诇诇讜转 砖讘诪砖谞讛 转讜专讛 讘专讜讞 讛拽讜讚砖 谞讗诪专讜, the 拽诇诇讜转, which means the whole 诪砖谞讛 转讜专讛 was said with 专讜讞 讛拽讜讚砖, 讛专讬 讛诐 讘讻诇诇 转讜专讛, 讜讛讜讘专 讘讻诇诇 转讜专讛 so made it part of the 转讜专讛, 砖谞讗诪专讜 诪驻讬 讛讙讘讜专讛, is still said from the Aibershter. So what's the difference? When you say Moshe said the Torah from the Aibershter, there are many levels, 讜诇讙讘讬 诪驻讬 讛讙讘讜专讛 砖讘讗专讘注 住驻专讬诐 讛专讗砖讜谞讬诐, compared to the you say comes from the Aibershter, the level what came from the Aibershter in the first four, 讛专讬 专讜讞 讛拽讜讚砖 砖诇 诪砖谞讛 转讜专讛 讻讗讬诇讜 诪驻讬 注爪诪讜 讬拽专讗, 诇讙讘讬 that it's called by alone. I could explain that. Okay. So we'll see later that it means it came from the Aibershter, but in a different madregah. Nevertheless, it's a different category. So if Devarim is takeh from the Aibershter, but b'ruach hakodesh, not the same, it should be part of And we say no, and and b'foal, why is it included in Chumash? We say that it's in comparison. So why is it included? If we call it 诪驻讬 注爪诪讜, so it should be included in the other level, the level of 谞讘讬讗讬诐 讜讻转讜讘讬诐. So obviously the answer is going to be that there are three levels. But why do we need it to be? 讜讬砖 诇讜诪专 讛讘讬讗讜专 讘讝讛, so the explanation is like this.
There's nothing that's in 讻转讜讘讬诐, that's written in 转谞\"讱, which is not hinted in Chumash. There's nothing in 转谞\"讱 that's not hinted through 诪砖讛 专讘讬谞讜 in Chumash, because our Chumash, Rashi says, 讛讜讗 讬住讜讚 谞讘讬讗讬诐 讜讻转讜讘讬诐, that's the foundation of 谞讘讬讗讬诐 讜讻转讜讘讬诐, 讜讘讻讜诇诐 讬砖 住诪讱 诇诪诪爪讗 诪谉 讛转讜专讛. Everything that's in Tanach, you'll find a 住诪讱, a 专诪讝 in the Torah. 讜注诇 驻讬 讝讛 讬砖 诇讜诪专, so may we could say like this, 砖讻砖诐 砖诇转讜讻谉 讛讚讘专讬诐 砖讘谞\"讱 讬砖 住诪讱 住诪讱 诇诪诪爪讗 诪谉 讛转讜专讛, just like we said that every any inyan, any 转讜讻谉 of an inyan that's in Tanach must is hinted in, has a 住诪讱 in 转讜专讛, 讻讱 讜讘谞讜讙注 诇讗讜驻谉 讛转讙诇讜转 讛讚讘专讬诐 砖讘谞\"讱. Not 讘谞讜讙注 the 转讜讻谉 of what it says, but the whole level of Neviim uKesuvim. In order that the words of Neviim uKesuvim should be Torah, there had to be something in Chumash for the same way. In other words, like this. Vos? In other words, like this: Neviim uKesuvim are 讚讘专讬 谞讘讬讗讜转. And 讚讘专讬 谞讘讬讗讜转 is b'ruach hakodesh. It could be 讚讘专讬 谞讘讬讗讜转. Bepo'al we're saying it's not like that. Bepo'al we're saying that the words of the Neviim are divrei Torah. How did that become Torah? Ela mai? If you find something like that in Torah, that causes that the words of the Neviim are Torah. Similar to what they said before, that when Moshe Rabbeinu said the Torah in the other languages, so the other languages became that if you learn Torah in those languages, it's also Torah. The same thing here. In order for the 讚讘专讬 谞讘讬讗讬诐, 谞讘讬讗讬诐 讜讻转讜讘讬诐 to become Torah, not to become special and holy, they could be holy as 讚讘专讬 谞讘讬讗讜转, but it doesn't mean it's Torah. There's two gedarim: there's 讚讘专讬 谞讘讬讗讜转 and there's Torah. In order for it to become Torah, it had to come from Chumash. Something in Chumash had to do this. It's not only the words of a 谞讘讬讗. We know 讗诇讗 讛诐 转讜专讛, they are 转讜专讛, 砖诇讻谉 讛爪讬讜讜讬诐 砖讘讛诐, that's why all the 爪讬讜讜讬诐, anything that's commanded in 转谞\"讱, 讞讬讬讘讬诐 讗谞讜 诇拽讬讬诪诐, we have to keep it, 诇讗 专拽 诪爪讚 讛讞讬讜讘 诇砖诪讜注 注诇 讚讘专讬 讛谞讘讬讗, not because we have to listen to a 谞讘讬讗, 讗诇讗 诪讝讛 讞讬讜讘 讛转讜专讛 诇拽讬讬诐 讚讘专讬 拽讘诇讛. The Torah says that we have to follow what the Nevi'im told us, not as 讚讘专讬 谞讘讬讗讜转, because it's Torah. 讗诇讗 砖讗讬谉 讘讛诐 讗讜转讛 讞讜诪专讗 讻讚讘专讬 转讜专讛 讻诪砖诪注讜转讛. It's not the same chumra, but it has a 讙讚专 of Torah. Now when did that happen? How did that happen? Where does this come that it's Torah? It's not Torah. It's ruach hakodesh, it's 谞讘讜讗讛. What? It's not da'oraita, it's 讚讘专讬 拽讘诇讛.
There are three 诪讚专讙讜转: there's 讚讘专讬 转讜专讛, 讚讘专讬 拽讘诇讛, and 讚讘专讬 住讜驻专讬诐. It's 讚讘专讬 拽讘诇讛, but we have to keep it because we have to listen to 讚讘专讬 拽讘诇讛. But not the same chumra, he says, not the same strictness as Torah. It goes higher than 讚讘专讬 住讜驻专讬诐. So where does this come from? Here we have like something in between. Moshe said it himself, which means with 专讜讞 讛拽讜讚砖. Nevertheless, the Aibershter put it into part of 转讜专转 诪砖讛. Because like the Rambam says on 讚讘专讬诐, 砖讛讻诇 转讜专讛 讛讬讗 诪驻讬 讛讙讘讜专讛, and everything is 转讜专讛. So here we have in 转讜专讛 itself something which is a lower level. And what does that do? That makes that as long as it's a 讛诪砖讱 to this and it's 专讜讞 讛拽讜讚砖, also could have the 讙讚专 of 转讜专讛, which is similar to what we said before. Before we said it 诇讙讘讬 讘讻诇诇 转讜专讛 in other languages. The same logic, the same idea would be here also, that in order for the 拽讚讜砖讛 of 转讜专讛 to come on Nevi'im uKetuvim is because in 转讜专讛 讙讜驻讗 we have 讚讘专讬 谞讘讜讗讛, and that 讚讘专讬 谞讘讜讗讛 is part of 转讜专讛. This
explains an interesting Zohar, actually not interesting, strange, Megaleh Amukot, like it says in the Sefer Megaleh Amukot, what was his name? Shapira, no? Rav Nathan Shapira, yeah. 砖注谞讬谉 诪砖谞讛 转讜专讛 he explains that the 注谞讬谉 of 诪砖谞讛 转讜专讛, of 讚讘专讬诐, 讛讜讗 注诇 住讜讚 转讜专讛 砖讘注诇 驻讛 砖拽讬讘诇讜 讬砖专讗诇 讘住讜祝 诪' 砖谞讛 讘讻谞讬住转谉 诇讗专抓, is the 住讜讚, is the secret, his idea is the 讘讞讬谞讛 of Torah Shebaal Peh. There's a remez, there are 40 generations from Moshe Rabbeinu to Rebbi who made the Mishnayot, which is Torah Shebaal Peh. Just like this Mishneh Torah came at the 40th year, so in order to get this level of Torah Shebaal Peh of Mishneh Torah took 40 years, so it took 40 generations to get to the real Torah Shebaal Peh. 40 generations? 40. Yeah, from Moshe Rabbeinu to Rebbi, 40 generations, Rambam makes the cheshbon. Now what's the pshat? What is the pshat that Mishneh Torah, Chumash is Torah Shebaal Peh? Every word is is Torah Shebichtav. So the pshat is like this. We said before that they're both the Aibershter, all first four, Devarim, they're all 诪驻讬 讛讙讘讜专讛. There's a different level of 诪驻讬 讛讙讘讜专讛. What does that mean? So he explains it in other places, what does it mean that this is not on the same level. It came through Moshe. That means Moshe didn't do anything here. The Aibershter pashut dictated it to him. Now, the Aibershter didn't write it himself. See, the luchot, the Eibershter wrote. This the Eibershter didn't write, but he dictated it to Moshe, so it came from the Eibershter direct through Moshe. When Moshe gave it over, his seichel wasn't involved at all. Ha? Yeah. Well, he wanted to, but the Eibershter told him not to. But he, what he wrote had nothing to do with him. No, the Eibershter agreed, but it's not something that he understood. He takeh, b'foal he understood it, but it wasn't the inyan The Eibershter It's al derech sometimes there's a mashal, which is not exactly, that when a person writes a sevara, you write, you have a a chidush, and you write it down, these words that you write comes from your brain, but it goes through the the memutza of your hand. Your brain doesn't write. So what happens here? It goes in through your hand, and through your hand you're writing down, so your hand doesn't understand it, doesn't know, it's just your hand is the kli through which I do it. So there Moshe was the kli through which the Eibershter, and just gave it out, only a tz inor, like a pipe. Mah she'ein kein... Well, that's Torah shebe'al peh. We're talking now about Torah shebichtav. Right, I was just curious, I mean that was not written by Moshe. That was given to Moshe. What, the Torah shebe'al peh? Yeah. Well, that's be'al peh, it's not written. Yeah, no. We'll see in a second what level of memutza. Yeah. Actually, when the Eibershter
dictated, Moshe had comments. Moshe made comments. When he said 谞注砖讛 讗讚诐, when the Eibershter told Moshe, write 谞注砖讛 讗讚诐, let us make a man, so Moshe Rabbeinu stopped, he said, \"I'm not writing it.\" 讗转讛 谞讜转谉 诪拽讜诐 诇讗驻讬拽讜专住讬诐, you make a place 讗驻讬拽讜专住讬诐 to say there's more than one God. So the Eibershter answered him, 讻转讜讘! Anyone wants to make a mistake, will make a mistake. What he meant to say is, who will make a mistake? Only the one that wants to. So I don't take away free choice. So lefo'al mamash everything the Eibershter dictated and it went just through Moshe. Moshe understood it, and he gave over exactly the words the 讗讬讬讘注专砖讟注专 said, but it already went through, it was absorbed in his brain, and he understood it, and he gave it over after he understood it. So when he said it, it's basically almost like his. That was 谞转诇讘砖, it was dressed into his daas. 讜诇讻谉 诪砖讛 讘注爪诪讜 讻讗讬诇讜 讗讜诪专 诪注爪诪讜, and therefore it's as if he says himself. But it's not really himself. But he says the same thing. So l'mashal, I'll give you an example where it says something like this. This is Mishneh Torah, only Mishneh Torah. The other ones, no. The other ones did not do with seichel. Al derech, the
Rebbe asked a she'eilah: how come it says, it said you have to say over everything 诪驻讬 讘砖诐 讗讜诪专诐, whatever it is, in the name of a person. Sometimes you find that things that you don't say b'shem omram. So the Rebbe says there's a chiluk. If you say it over because he said so, and I'm saying over a vort that someone says, I have to say his name. But if that same vort was 谞转注爪诐 with my brain, and now I really, really understand it, and I say it over, and I could say it over in the exact same words that he told me, I don't have to say it in his name. Because I'm saying it because my brain told me. So here also, Moshe's seichel was 谞转注爪诐 with this with the 讗讬讬讘注专砖讟注专's words, and he gave it over with his seichel. That's why he doesn't have to it's like a uvda, you don't have to say it b'shem omram because it's mine. What do you mean it's yours? It's not yours! The Rebbe says about something else also. So how come it says tiku means 转砖讘讬 讬转专抓 拽讜砖讬讜转 讜讗讬讘注讬讜转, 诪砖讬讞 will come, Eliyahu will answer. Why will Eliyahu answer, because he's a navi? A navi can't can't answer she'eilot, can't give He can't paskan with nevuah. The answer is, he will get nevuah, but he won't paskan because he got it in the 砖诪讬诐. But he'll get a nevuah, he'll think about it, sit down, learn it through, and his mind will understand, oh, now that he understands it, it's not nevuah anymore. Ai, it is 谞讘讜讗讛? Same thing here.
讜讬转讘讗专讜 注诇 驻讬 讝讛, the Rebbe says based on this, we'll understand 讚讘专讬 Raavad, one of the Rishonim, the Raavad, 砖驻讬专砖, he explained what the Chazal say. The Chazal say like this: 讗驻讬诇讜 诇诪讗谉 讚诇讗 讚专讬砖 住诪讜讻讬谉 讘注诇诪讗, means that there's a 讚讜专砖. There's a machloket how we 讚讗专砖'谉 住诪讜讻讬谉. If you have two pesukim next to each other, the Gemara makes derashot. Then there's a 讚注讛 that says, I think R'' Yehuda says, that we don't 讚讗专砖'谉 住诪讜讻讬谉. We don't make that such derashot. Nevertheless, the Gemara says, even the one that holds we don't, that's only in the four sefarim. In Chumash, in Devarim, everyone agrees. And the Raavad says, what's the reason? The whole Torah is said by the 讗讬讬讘注专砖讟注专, 讜讗讬谉 诪讜拽讚诐 讜诪讗讜讞专, then there is no seder. So you can't say, since this is next to this, there's no seder. When he made it, he made it so you should darshen it. What's the pshat here? So there's no re'aya that Moshe had a sevara why they're close to each other, because he didn't think sevarot here. 讜诇讻谉 诇讗 讚讜专砖 住诪讜讻讬谉, you can't darshen the connection. Fortunately that's the first question, you didn't want to hear no more questions? But in
Mishneh Torah, where the things and the seder Moshe understood, 讜诪注爪诪讜 讛讬讛 讗讜诪专 讗转 讚讘专讬 讛砖诐 讗砖专 讛砖讬讙, he, on his own, said what the 讗讬讬讘注专砖讟注专 gave him, because he understood it, because he understood it, 讗讬讻讗 讛讻专讞 砖住讚专 讛讚讘专讬诐 诪讜讘谉 讜诪讜砖讙. So obviously, the seder is understood! See, the everything has a seder, but 诇讗讜 讚讜讜拽讗 that the seder is made in such a way that we should understand how to darshen. Because the 讗讬讬讘注专砖讟注专 gave it and finished. But if Moshe Rabbeinu understood it, he understood the seder, so that means there is a sevara here, too. So he can immediately 住诪讜讻讬谉, 诇讗 住讬讚专讛 讗诇讗 诇讬讚专砖, so you can 讚讗专砖'谉 住诪讜讻讬谉 because he made it so you should darshen. Okay. 注诇 驻讬 讛谞\"诇, based on what we said before, 讬砖 诇讜诪专, we could say like this: Moshe lowered it a level so that we could under he could understand so we could understand. We can So no, I don't want to be spoiled. There is a sechel here so we we could so we could eventually reach. Too high, exactly. And this will explain, 讬砖 诇讜诪专 砖讛讟注诐 砖讛讜讗 讛讜爪专讱 诇讻讝讛 讘转讜专转 诪砖讛. Why do we need such a thing in Torah? In 讞讜诪砖, 砖讬讙诇讜 讛讚讘专讬诐 转讛讬讛 讘讗讜驻谉 砖讘转讞讬诇讛 谞转诇讘砖讜 讘讚注转讜 讜讛砖讙转讜 砖诇 诪砖讛, 讝讗转 讗讜诪专转, why do we need that in Chumash itself, should be a certain part of Chumash that had to go through hitgalut through Moshe's sechel? Why is it? 讻讬 讝讛讜 讛讬住讜讚 诇讙讚专 转讜专讛 砖讘注诇 驻讛. That's the whole yesod for Torah shebe'al peh. Why? What's it got to do? Because nogea to 转讜专讛 砖讘注诇 驻讛, 诪爪讬谞讜 讚讘专 讜讛讬驻讜讻讜. When it comes to 讚讘专 讛砖诐 we find contradiction. Mechad gisa, on one hand, hitgalut, no on the other hand 讛诇讻讛 诇诪砖讛 诪住讬谞讬, 讗讘诇 拽讘诇讜讛 讘谞讬 讬砖专讗诇, 转讜专讛 砖讘注诇 驻讛 was nitgaleh to idan. The idan come up with sevarot, come derashot, we darshen. The chachamim afterwards, they made the, they took the 讬\"讙 诪讬讚讜转 砖讛转讜专讛 谞讚专砖转 讘讛谉 and they darshan'ed it. So who are the ones that figured it out? The chachamim. The only thing not is anything which is 讛诇讻讛 诇诪砖讛 诪住讬谞讬, that that's a no one said anything, Moshe gave it over and finished. But most of Torah Shebaal Peh Huh? Didn't Rambam argue whether it was most or not? Whether it's? Most or not. In the most?
Did the Rambam argue with the Ramban whether Torah Shebaal Peh is 讚讗讜专讬讬转讗? No. No. I think so. Rabbi, he's talking about the four books, and the last book, Devarim, he made himself. Well, that's what we're talking about, yeah. Right? No, but it's not himself, it's we saying himself means it's the Aibershter, but he understood it in his brain. The last book. The last one. Chumash Devarim. So Torah Shebaal Peh, on one hand, came to 讗讬讚谉, 砖讛诐 讛诪讙诇讬诐 注谞讬谞讛 砖诇 转讜专讛 砖讘注诇 驻讛 注诇 讬讚讬 诇讬诪讜讚诐, they're megaleh it through their learning. So in order to figure out Torah Shebaal Peh, you have to understand it. The chachamim, each one had to think about it and come to an understanding. The whole idea of learning Torah Shebaal Peh and figuring out things is you have to figure out what the Aibershter wants, the Aibershter's chachmah. If it's the Aibershter's chachmah, what do you mean you're going to use your chachmah? Klomar, it means, 讛讛诇讻讛 转诇讜讬讛 诇讗 讘讛讘谞转 讛讗讚诐, the halachah becomes not because I understand, 讗诇讗 砖讝讛讜 专爪讜谞讜 讬转讘专讱, that's what the Aibershter wants. What Torah is is the Aibershter's chachmah. 讗诇讗 砖讛拽讚讜砖 讘专讜讱 讛讜讗 诪住专 注住拽 讝讛 诇讘谞讬 讬砖专讗诇, he gave it over to the 讗讬讚谉, 砖讬讙诇讜 注住拽 讝讛 注诇 讬讚讬 注讬讜谞诐, that they should be megaleh this. Here we have two opposites: The Aibershter said use your brains and understand it, that's how you will figure out Torah Shebaal Peh, and what will you figure out? What the Aibershter wants. What do you mean? 讜讻讬讜谉 砖讻诇 讛讙讚专讬诐 砖讘转讜专讛 爪专讬讻讬诐 诇讛讬讜转 诇讛诐 讬住讜讚 讘转讜专转 诪砖讛, since every concept of Torah has to have a yesod by Moshe Rabbeinu, 讘转讜专转 诪砖讛, 诇讻谉 注谞讬谉 讝讛, therefore this 注谞讬谉, 砖讬讞讜诇 砖诐 转讜专讛, 转讜专转 讛砖诐 注诇 讚讘专 讞讻诪讛 砖谞转讙诇讛 讘讛砖讙转 讗讚诐 谞讘专讗, this general idea that a human being through his chachmah could figure out what the ratzon of the Aibershter is, where is that in 转讜专转 诪砖讛? That's a something that has to have some beginning in 转讜专转 诪砖讛. There we have these two extremes: 砖讚讘专 讛砖诐 砖谞转诇讘砖 讘讚注转讜 讜讛砖讙转讜 砖诇 诪砖讛, it's 讚讘专 讛砖诐, on the other hand it came through the seichel of Moshe. So now it's Now, this explains the Zohar. Why does the Zohar call this Torah shebaal peh? Because this is the yesod of Torah shebaal peh. In order for Torah shebaal peh to be Torah, even though it comes through a seichel of a human being, where do we find that concept in Chumash? Chumash Devarim, because it's exact same thing. So Hashem told Moshe Rabbeinu the whole Mishneh Torah, and then he wrote it down? Oh, how it's, there's machloket whether it was all together or parashah No, no, I'm talking about Mishneh Torah itself. It's Mishneh Torah. When did it become his? When did it become his? While the Aibershter was telling him. Oh, while... So there was a previous session or something? No, no, the Aibershter told him and then he thought about it and he understood it, and he came and gave over what he understood, which happened to be the same words as Hashem. Yeah, yeah. How can you have 谞爪讞讜谞讬, I mean 谞爪讞讜谞讬? That's what He wants. That's His ratzon. Yeah, His ratzon is that the Yidden should be menatzeach. Ha gufa, yes. We're supposed to figure out what Hashem wants, not Who knows what's the pshat? So what does Hashem want? Obviously this is better than what Hashem wants. It has to be that way. It's all the sichah. You can't believe it? That's the only way I could deliver it. What? The Tannaim agree. And and that the Aibershter said 谞爪讞讜谞讬 is a Midrash, everyone agrees to that too, so you have to say that that's the Aibershter The Aibershter, what's more, the 讗讬讬讘注专砖讟注专 讞讬讬讱, the Aibershter is smiling, is happy! But then he said, since in 驻砖讜讟 驻砖讟 it refers to Mishneh Torah, there must be some connection in Mishneh Torah to this idea.
