Parshas Bereishis
A practical reminder tied to the custom that how you start off Shabbos Bereishis sets the tone for being maavir sedrah all year.
Part of Bereishit
Passes along the Tzemach Tzedek's guidance that being maavir sedrah, shnayim mikra v'echad targum, specifically before Shabbos Parshas Bereishis makes it far easier to keep up that weekly chiyuv through the rest of the year, and encourages taking it on for this parshah in particular.

- Proverb: Starting Shabbat Bereishis Sets Year鈥檚 Tone
Everyone knows the vort: 讜讜讬 诪注谉 砖讟注诇讟 讝讬讱 讗讜讜注拽 砖讘转 讘专讗砖讬转, 讗讝讜讬 讙讬讬讟 注住 讗 讙讗谞抓 讬讗专. The way you start off Shabbos Bereishis, that's how it's gonna go a whole year. So I wanna mention that one of the main places where this was said about, even though it means in every aspect, but it said specifically about being maavir sedrah. You know, there's a mitzvah, a chiyuv to be maavir sedrah, shnayim mikra v'echad targum every Friday, to say the whole parshah, two times the pasuk and once the targum, and that's a chiyuv that you have to do. For some reason, it's weak and some people are not careful. So the Tzemach Tzedek said that if you're maavir sedrah on 砖讘转 驻专砖转 讘专讗砖讬转, right, 注专讘 砖讘转 驻专砖转 讘专讗砖讬转, if you do that, it'll be much easier for a person to get to be maavir sedrah a whole year. So it's very important to be maavir sedrah this parshah. So I'm being meorer everybody, please be 诪注讘讬专 讛住讚专讛 驻专砖转 讘专讗砖讬转, and mimela you will be able to be maavir sedrah a whole year, which is a chiyuv that the Rabbanan made, which we have to do. Gut Shabbos.
