Bat Kol After the End of Prophecy

Why didn't you go up? How many people went up? 45,000 people went up with Ezra, yet there's hundreds of thousands of Yidden there. Had you all gone up, you would have had strong, which means the Shechinah would have been stronger. Now that you didn't go up, so it's like an 讗专讝. What's an 讗专讝? It's bat kol. All you have a bat kol. 讻讚转谞讬讗, like it says, 诪砖诪转讜 谞讘讬讗讬诐 讗讞专讜谞讬诐, when the last Nevi'im died, who were they? And they still use a bat kol. So all you had left was a bat kol. And that's what he said, that you guys... The Oibershter doesn't like you, but look what you guys did. Okay. And then the Gemara asks a she'eilah, but 专讘讬 砖诪注讜谉 讘谉 诇拽讬砖, 诪讬 诪砖转注讬 讘讛讚讬 专讘讛 讘专 讘专 讞谞讛? Would he Did he speak to Rabba bar bar Chana? He probably wouldn't even have spoken to him, because 讛砖转讗 诪专讗 讚讗专抓 讬砖专讗诇, 专讘讬 讗诇注讝专, was the head of 讗专抓 讬砖专讗诇, 讜诇讗 讛讜讛 诪砖转注讬 专讬砖 诇拽讬砖 / 专讘讬 砖诪注讜谉 讘谉 诇拽讬砖 讘讛讚讬讛, wouldn't talk to him, because if Rabbi Shimon ben Lakish talked to somebody, 讻诇 诪讗谉 讚讛讜讛 诪砖转注讬 讘讛讚讬讛 专讬砖 诇拽讬砖 讘砖讜拽讗, if anybody spoke to Reish Lakish in the street, the fact that Rabbi Shimon ben Lakish spoke to him, 讬讛讘讬 诇讬讛 注讬住拽讗 讘诇讗 住讛讚讬. They would trust that guy so much, they would give him, do business with him without eidim, because if Rabbi Shimon ben Lakish just spoke to him, that means this guy is a very special guy. So he didn't even speak to Rabbi Elazar. 讘讛讚讬 专讘讛 讘专 讘专 讞谞讛 诪砖转注讬? He spoke to Rabba bar bar Chana, was in a lower madreigah than Rabbi Elazar? 讗诪专 专讘 驻驻讗, 专讘 驻驻讗 said you're right. 砖讚讬 讙讘专讗, put a different person, you have to change the names. 讗讬 专讬砖 诇拽讬砖, if this story action happened with Rabbi Shimon ben Lakish, so Zeiri, then the other person was not Rabba bar bar Chana. You have to change it, because with Rabba bar bar Chana he wouldn't talk, but with Zeiri. 讗讬 专讘讛 讘专 讘专 讞谞讛, if the story takeh happened with Rabba bar bar Chana, he's a different 转谞讗 讗诪讜专讗, and he was a 讞砖讜讘'注专 讗诪讜专讗. He is a different person. Different person. This is his name. This is his name. His name, yeah. And we got to If you want If it's for sure that it was Rabbi Shimon ben Lakish, then the story happened not with Rabbah bar bar Chana, it happened with Zeiri. 讗讬 Rabbah bar bar Chana, if the story happened, zeker it was Rabbah bar bar Chana, then it's not Rabbi Shimon ben Lakish, then it's Rabbi Elazar. Because ben Lakish wouldn't speak to wouldn't speak to Rabbah bar bar Chana. Interesting. He wouldn't speak to Rabbi Elazar, and Rabbah bar bar Chana was even less than Rabbi Elazar. Wow. Because he was so great. No, he was afraid, because whenever he spoke to somebody, that meant that he gave that guy a confirmation. Right. And he didn't want to give stam people a confirmation. So he wouldn't even give these great people a confirmation. Because some people, I guess, he could, some people he can't. Right away, dugmato, yeah. Al derech,

Kamenetsky鈥檚 Advice Against Guest Rosh Yeshiva Lectures

Reb Yaakov Kamenetsky was in the yeshiva, so I asked him to give a shiur. So he tells me he's not going to give a shiur. \"And I'm going to give you an advice,\" he says, \"don't let any Rosh Yeshiva come and give a shiur in yeshiva, nobody, nobody.\" \"Why?\" Says, \"because it's not comfortable sometimes. You guys, you do want him to give, you don't want him to give. So I'm telling you as a policy, listen to me,\" he says, \"don't tell, don't ask anyone.\" And he tells, \"I want to tell you a story. I was in Toronto once,\" he says, \"and I told the Rosh Yeshiva there, same thing, I told the Rosh Yeshiva there not to let anybody.\" Says, \"a year later when I came back, I heard that during the year, Reb Moshe Feinstein was there and gave a shiur. So I told him, 'You didn't take my advice. I told you not to.' So I said to him, so he wanted to tell me, I said to him, 'Talking about Reb Moshe, it's not stam.' 'No, no difference. Nobody. The policy should be nobody, no guests should say because you can't make differences.'\" So I'm saying the same thing here. Shimon ben Lakish didn't want to talk to anybody, should Why? In the street, obviously, in public. Because he doesn't want to give confirmation to anybody, so even the great people, like Rabbi Elazar, he was the Rav of 讗专抓 讬砖专讗诇. So I'm saying, it reminded me of that story. Why is it always Chabad goes out beyond their moves, making shiurim? Because who says we accept his advice? Who says we accept his advice? I didn't accept his advice. Yeah. Yom Tov, Shevi'i shel Pesach. Yeah, comes to speak in our shul, Baruch. Yeah, so what's wrong? I, yeah, I didn't take his advice, either. I didn't take his advice. You know how many people we had giving shiurim in yeshiva by us? No, here. No, no, bechlal. Here? No, here it's open to the street. But a shiur talking about. A shiur here, we had Rabbi Kuliak give a shiur, we had... we had a shiur. Rabbi Shavel, we had all... Whatever, I didn't take... I didn't take his advice. But his shita was and he's I'm saying here not to talk to Rabbi Elazar. Huh? He told me because then sometimes you're in a position that some people you don't, and it's not nice to make chilukim, so you embarrass somebody. It's... Oder yo, oder nisht, I don't know, whatever. I didn't take his advice. I know that once gave a shiur, I think in TA, right? He is, yeah, he went to Shaar Avodat Hashem and once to... Yeah, Shaar Avodat Hashem.

Satmar Rebbe鈥檚 Decline and the Mysterious Gabbai Reply

When the Satmarer Rebbe came here, not him, the... Reb Moshe, so I went to ask him to come to give a shiur in yeshiva. And I told him that I heard that I know that your uncle gave a shiur in Telshe. So, the same thing, I asked him. Says, \"No, not only in Telshe he gave a shiur, in Torah Vodaath also.\" So, I asked him, \"Can, would you come?\" You didn't want him? I knew he wouldn't, I didn't have no... First of all, because the rav is Lubavitch, he was against Lubavitch, so, like, no, he wouldn't come. I knew he wouldn't, but he tells me, \"I have to think about it.\" Two days later, I get a call from his gabbai. So, said the gabbai from, from, from the Satmar Rav, \"Concerning what you asked him, the answer is he can't come.\" Why can't, why can't? Yeah. So, this a gabbai, I think, so, so, I asked, mach, mach, you think I didn't understand why? I, I knew he wouldn't come, but I 诪讗讱 讝讬讱 转诐'注讜讜讗讟注, I said, \"Did he tell you why he can't come?\" He says, \"讬讗, 讗讘注专 注专 讛讗讟 诪讬专 讙注讝讗讙讟, 讗讘注专 讗讬讱 拽注谉 谞讬砖讟 讝讗讙谉.\" Why? Yeah, he said, but I can't tell you why.
